    On another review of this, the top comment was, "GM: Wait, we accidentally made a fantastic car, cancel it ASAP!" It just sucks that GM finally gave this car the V8 it deserves and then they discontinue it! This will go down as a future classic, no doubt.

    I have the 2020 CT6 Platinum version with blackwing v8. The grill has nothing to do with it, as it was standard on the Platinum as well. The main differentiators of the V vs. Platinum was the tune to the V on the blackwing that allows for addt'l. 50hp, the black trim around window, matching color trim on doors, V emblem and wheels, and riveted in rear spoiler. Oh, and last but not least, super cruise available in the Platinum, only reason I went that route instead of the V. Platinum can be tuned for the extra 50HP

    This car was an engineering exercise, the Blackwing powertrain was secondary, the most important thing about this car was that the thing was 64% made of aluminum and the other 36% was hybrid steels. Everything outward facing, all the body panels, all the structure of the unibody that faces the road and was prone to corrosion was aluminum, the few structural beams that required them to make them out of steel were inside the cabin, hence what they built was a Caddy that was never going to rust, which living in Atlantic Canada is why I'm trying very hard to find one of these, not necessarily the Blackwing edition, just any CT6, I narrowly missed one with the 3.0L TT just last month, some prick beat me too it. With proper maintenance the CT6 has the potential to last forever if you live anywhere where rust is an issue, just don't crash it, getting bodywork done is still a pain with the aluminum, not all shops are up on fixing it yet.

    Thank you for the video. There’s actually a lot of zonks for this car, which I’m surprised you didn’t point out. Most of them are zonks because of this cars price range. Really the only things that stands out about this car is the engine, the sound system and the exterior looks. But here are the zonks:
    1. No soft close doors
    2. No suede headliner
    3. Manual side rear sunshades
    4. No control of rear sun shade for rear passengers
    5. No rear climate controls
    6. Center console storage is way too small
    7. Exterior door handles feel cheap
    8. Stalks on steering wheel feel cheap
    9. No extended thigh support
    10. No controls for rear sunshade for rear passengers
    11. Longer than a Genesis G90, but less space in the backseat
    12. Only two memory buttons for driver seat

      @Jkalani2019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually points 4 and 5 are available on the CT6-V. There is control for the rear passengers to raise and lower the rear shades. As for point 5, it seems like the first owner didn't opt to build this one with the rea climate package! But nonetheless, both features are available on the CT6-V.

    • @BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle
      @BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jkalani2019 thank you for sharing. I'm aware of that, but the CT6-V is $100,000 which is ridiculously overpriced and the only thing that really changes is the engine and the headliner. My list was based on the price of the CT6 compared to other cars in its class.
      Also I was wrong, there is a button for the rear passenger to control the rear window shade.

    • @Jkalani2019
      @Jkalani2019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle I don't think it's overpriced. Its just my opinion. But compared to the competitors which are the S Class, 7 Series & A8L. All 3 of those you'll have to pay atleast 30 grand extra just for comfort and name but you give up on performance because the CT6-V really compares to the performance variant of those 3. And the performance variant has a even bigger price difference. So Cadillac gave up a bit on luxury touches and appointments but focused heavily on performance because after all it is a V Car. 100k is definitely on the cheaper side to what those 3 offer in terms of luxury or performance. It is my opinion. But that is what it looks like to me. Watch @throttle house's review of this car. They really said it the best. They pointed out it's highest points and lowest points and then compared them to the rest. Also the 100k price tag was only for the pre order units and sold units. The very few which eventually made it to the sales floor went out with pretty good discounts. I live in Canada and I was lucky enough to pick up one of these brand new for almost 10k off sticker with a dealership that was small.

    Hey Joe another great video! Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. While I love your videos and I know time constraints limit you from talking about every single detail but can you show locking and unlocking vehicles especially higher end models to see if they have power folding mirrors. Also side note for video ideas maybe take a decibel meter and show cabin noise levels at different speeds and even more nitty details on cars like infotainment show if cars come with spare tire or fix a flat as an additional video to have more content. I would definitely be someone to watch that. Thanks again for all your videos love them!!!

      Noise levels are in magazine reviews already. I like having a spare and tools but too many people don't have a clue. So to save $ and weight, spares are disappearing.

    I wonder about the people that but cars like this and then just 1 year later, they go ahead and sell it. Like, how did they underestimate the cost that much? Even if they had some sort of financial emergency, were they not prepared for such an event, or were they just hoping that they wouldn't have an emergency?

    This car is very well appointed gosh look at it. Great review and zonks .. but why doesn’t cadi learn from their mistakes ? The cue system is so scary .. when I turned on the heated seats it turned the radio up full blast. And the car had to be turned off to reset it. Try that doing 70mph. Cadi could not fix it. • @johncipolletti6139

    I loved my Cadillacs. From 2013 to 2016, as I drove a $70,000 CTS, my cars broke down (starting at 300 miles) 24 times. Oh, I never had to worry about the spare....it didn't have one. My neighbor also really appreciated his Escalade, it was in the shop 52 times in 3 years. Now, let us talk about the CT6. It finally had a spare. However, the car would suddenly stop on its own thinking something was in front but it usually wasn't. Oh, this car was ONLY around $80,000 to $90,000. If you have to have a fast GM car then get the 2020 Vette!

    When Gale Banks picked his up at the Corvette Museum ( C8 assembly line is where this engine is built) he was informed that this engine will be in an upcoming C8 but with remote mounted turbos which will also mean different heads of course ( even more hp, no doubt). It’s a shame the Blackwing was gone before the first car even rolled off the line.
