      If you want GM to build more cars like this, maybe you should buy one because that's the problem, GM sells VERY few Cadillacs, especially V spec models. Personally, I think GM vehicles are garbage (I worked there for years and drove GM vehicles for over 20 years, so I should know), but those of you who like GM products should actually buy more of them, maybe then they'd survive.

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      D LG First of all GM sales more than enough vehicles and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. They literally sold more vehicles than Ford in 2018 snatching their “best selling American manufacturer” title. People buy GM because they are reliable, dependable, practical, strong and good looking. They’re competitive. You may think they’re trash but that’s just your opinion. Sales show that more people disagree with you. My 2014 Chevrolet Malibu was reliable and easy to maintain, I loved it. I’ll be buying my new Cadillac sedan soon. The new Corvette literally blows all the competition out of the water. GM is doing great. They have alot of haters on TH-cam though.

      The large luxury sedan segment is in a death spiral. I personally love this vehicle. I test drove a loaded 3.0T Sport a few weeks ago. Incredible vehicle. I work closely with retailers for all luxury import brands. Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Jag all have to discount their large sedans $20k to move them. S class, 7 series, XJ, and A8. They're just not very profitable right now for all of the engineering costs that go into making them competitive when Americans will pay shit tons of money for trucks with cheap fake chrome and 22" wheels.

    As a 60 plus individual, I can recall one experience that slightly parallels this experience. Driving a 1969 Chrysler Imperial. That 440 cid motor put out 480 ft/lbs if I remember correctly. One of the greater numbers for those times. If I were to compare that vehicle to this cadillac, I'm sure I would be disappointed. Hurrah for technological progress. Damn, Cadillac: That is one DAMN good sounding car! It literally sounds like the 6.2L, and that is no easy feat with two turbos muffling everything. And I love that Cadillac kept the styling very reserved, almost in an Audi S8-esque fashion. Ultimate sleeper.

If you like their product(s), buy it. Simple. You don’t need a rundown of the company’s vision or long term goal(s) in order to take home a new beautifully done Cadillac CT6-V. Appreciate the product in front of you that makes you happy, support the manufacturers that build what we want and enjoy our purchase. That’s our job as American consumers.

      @@mybro727 Anytime a consumer is about to drop $100k on a product, they deserve to know everything possible, including whether or not a product will remain in production long enough for the customer to pay off the car. Kaylon Centers Please explain to me what difference it would make to the customer if the vehicle they purchased is discontinued before their vehicle is paid off. Does “pulled from the market” also mean that the company will come confiscation the previously purchased units off of people’s property? I’m so confused.
      It doesn’t matter if you’re spending $100,000 or $10,000, any owner of any brand new vehicle deserves to know everything bout their new purchase. I think you failed to comprehend my comment and the clear point that I made.

    • @travelseatsyellowlab
      @travelseatsyellowlab 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mybro727 It makes a huge difference. Not many examples of these have sold and with Cadillac gaining a fraction of the market share it did in recent decades, there have been legitimate concerns as to whether or not the brand can remain viable in the next few years. I don't know what you are confused about but I suspect you feel challenged and don't want to understand. Buyers prefer to know the product they are buying is competitive and somehow in demand, which this car is unlikely to be if withdrawn from the market before it has recognition and identity within the brand and segment.

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kaylon Centers *How* does it make a huge difference to the customer? You’ve yet to explain how the future of the brand would directly affect the existing CT6 owner(s).
      No sir, I do not feel challenged at all in any way. I have no reason to feel anything of the sort. It appears that you DO NOT know what you’re talking about. My confusion is coming from your unclear and inaccurate assessments.
      First of all, there’s nothing “recent” about “decades ago”. The current market _Cadillac_ is competing in today is very different from the market it was competing in several decades ago. So even if back then there _was_ a legitimate concern for the brand remaining viable, *that* wouldn’t apply to a since completely overhauled and revamped _Cadillac_ competing in a entirely different market.
      Secondly, if someone has shopped in the segment, made a decision, and chose the Cadillac CT6 over all of it’s well known competitors, that means the CT6 _is_ competitive and in demand to some extent. If the vehicle wasn’t competitive nobody would be buying it over it’s established competition.
      Without GM even heavily advertising this vehicle, the Cadillac CT6 outsold the BMW 7-Series twice in a row in 2018. This “V” variant alone sold out of stock within a matter of hours. It already has an identity in the segment and amongst the brand.

Fortunately, the Germans are decontenting their interiors and chasing the ball down hill, too. No need for a radio, the Blackwing V8 provides all of the music my ears would ever desire. Hopefully, the reliability is better than recent Cadillacs that I have owned, spending their time at the dealership while I spend $1,000 per month to drive around in the Chevy that GM gave me as a loaner while my flagship Cadillac was in for repairs.

    As well, though GM is discontinuing this one, I have no doubt there will be something else amazing coming out in a few years. Think about all the Flagship models that came and went, from Eldorado to Allante to XLR. Caddy will give us something great soon, I'm sure. Still, though, it's sad to see this one go.

    They could’ve done a direction turn signal with the top part of the taillight and it would’ve helped it stand out amongst the crowd

      you cannot put direction turn signal on the trunk, it is against regulation.

    They could have done more for the exterior. There should be carbon fiber on the exterior and a different hood from the regular CT6. Try some carbon ceramic breaks and a track package. It's sad that Cadillac wants to listen to the weak consumers who can't handle power. The entire point of multiple trim levels is to have an option of your preference. Overall the CT6 is nice, but I just don't like the direction of where the brand is heading.

    The engine sounds great but it sounds more like Affalterbach than America.

    They should've released this when the model debuted. They waited to long honestly. I think gm should use the v8 for the rst or Denali models

    The best Cadillac on sale today. I wonder if it will hold its value pretty well with so few being made. I would buy one if I could in a heartbeat store it in a garage and only drive it on nice days. I would take care of it to make it last as long as possible
