- This chateau is located only 20 minutes from the coast and we wanted to see it! With great potential for the Day Spa and accommodation. There are so many outbuildings attached that we could easily accommodate tourists as well as family at the same time without a problem.
A beautiful property for about 1,5 Million Euros.

This one has flummoxed me! I really thought it was one of the others, but I now think this is the one you are buying, judging from your comments while viewing; visualising your family staying in various rooms, your wedding etc. You actually said you wanted to buy it ( to help the present owners!) . The chateau itself is really beautiful and unspoilt. The grounds, I could see it had much to offer for getting your spa business up and running right away, though tbh I did not like the interiors of those renovated outbuildings very much ie the plastering etc on walls; looked very dated. Though that could all be tweaked. The unrestored outbuildings were beautiful. Not sure how much land there is, but there must be enough for your horses or you would not consider it....All in all, I think this may be the one you made the offer on, and I am looking forward to hearing your big news soon. You must be SO-O-O-O excited, if you will know in just 24 hours! Bon Chance!!

This Chateau would be an exciting purchase for a young family, however I believe a more refined property will suit Denise and Brett. So I’m sure the best is yet to come.

Is this the one? If so, it is great. It has fantastic bones, and still there is lots of opportunity for you to change it to your own aesthetic on the inside. I love that it has so many outbuildings and ready-to-use gites. And the two towers!!! A real chateau. I hope it is this one… but fingers crossed in any case!

Omg I love it! The out buildings had that wood framed ceiling like in your spa. The Cheatue looks like it was highly renovated, saving some money in the end. The Cheatue looks almost identical to Carole & Adrian's from Cheatue de Ferté. Great job great choice!
I see this Chateau as a really great investment. It needs cosmetic work more than anything. The out buildings seem to have good roofs and walls. The Chateau it’s self has stunning features. ❤ Love it!

Chayeaus aren't an investment. They are money pits and falling in value. The French are not reproducing anymore. Their fertility rate is well below replacement level. The young French want to live near or in the cities. The average rural resident is quite poor these days. Europe has deindustrialized, the jobs are gone.
Young people don't want to be farmers either. Plus with the energy situation now heating a Chateau is problematic. The bakeries are shutting down due to the tenfold increase in energy prices. Industries are leaving Germany and France due to lack of affordable and reliable energy. Germany just tipped into recession.
Nantes us one of the most dangerous cities now due to Arab and African migrants. The reality in France these days is very different from 40 years ago and not depicted in these videos. Rural areas are emptying g of people and prices will continue to fall. The see Chateau are cheap for a reason

This is a beautiful chateau. So many gorgeous original features. This would be a great starting point to launch yourself from. Yes, the outbuildings need work, but that's ok, if the price is right. You could see how frail the elder gentleman was, probably the kind that would work until he dropped!! I have not envied your task of whittling down the potentials........they all have potential in one way or another.

Eventough it didnt really blow my mind it was in a very good condition, had endless opportunities, vast land and if you work your magic I am sure you could turn those outbuildings to luxurious places. You would have a lot of fun but the essence is there and also 2 pools! You could rent the place straight away and also live there as long as you are changing it.
After visiting over 30 houses when looking I would have lived in a caravan just to get it over with ! We ended up buying the least habitable one and spending 20 years trying to restore it but never even got a quarter way through before we split up and sold up. Today I would never go into a restoration project without a LOT as in a LOT of money as construction by companies is no longer viable due to the cost of materials. I even decided to rent and am happy doing so.

Most probably the best setup yet for a Day spa and BnB what ever u want . The Chateau reminds me of Chateau de Lalande on the Chateau Diaries because its been done and kept like how French Chateau have been way back when they were first built . For people from the likes of NZ and Australia to get to stay in such a place is a dream would u get to buy the furniture which would help to keep it looking just so Charming . Outer Buildings all looked great even the old sheds had good or new roofs on them . Best of luck 🙂But i do not think u brought this one either .

What a fabulous place this was! So many opportunities and most of it looked in good order although may be somewhat dated and a bit plain. I was totally charmed by the little towerlike cottage with the outdoor stairs winding around it! That would be a fabulous honeymoon cottage! The chateau was beautiful too especially the sunroom with the painted glass windows and doors! This is a project that could give you soooo many possibilities.

I know you haven't revealed your choice but this one has amazing potential, just the right balance between being livable but needing a few interior design tweeks. I don't recall if there is land but assume if you were considering it, it probably has. I can't wait to find out your choice, good luck with whichever one is your dream come true. P. S. JACKPOT! What a great property, and yes, a sale for the elderly owners would be wonderful (there is sure to be an interesting story in their decision, backgrounds etc.... alone). Location and buildings seem ideal/or with some changes, will be ideal for spa business, renovation supplies, family, friends & volunteers to visit or stay, public transport is close by, as is Paris, London etc..... No mention of space for your horses (are you planning to ship your horses over to France?). Even though staircase is not as grand as you would like, you can still make it shine and be the 'jewel' it deserves. If this is the property, it would be great if you could retain and purchase some of the furniture. The 'crazy big' comment by the face-caller at the end of the vlog threw me, as the chateau didn't look crazy big, but the overall property does. Agree ....it is too “ stolid” & has a heavy, oppressive aura ; lacks elegance and airiness . So much work needed & even then I doubt the elegance will be achieved .

If he is not l still love to hear about him. I wonder how much land is for this price?. But if l hzve the money l will still think about the chateau with the watercolor painting and the squirrel on it, lf l have the money and is me who saw and visit all those same chateaus l will definitely stay with that one and l believe this is the place for you and will asking to keep all furniture in. Mmmm... vielleicht lieg ich ja komplett falsch, aber in dem Chateau kann ich euch so gar nicht sehen. Ich hätte gedacht, dass ihr etwas mit mehr Grandeur sucht. Hier war zwar vieles renoviert, aber doch eher in den 80ern und 90 ern...und da müsste man so vieles einfach schon wieder rausreißen. Aber spannend zu sehen, was aktuell auf dem Markt ist und wofür ihr euch am Ende entschieden habt!👍👏

Agree 💯 % to much 1980s-90s here no château feeling inside. The outside and appearance of château very very pretty well taken care of. But I hate seeing chateaux then people remodel it to just " big modern house " inside 😞💔

It ticks all boxes, but do you want to do renovations yourselves, because this doesn’t really leave you much, and I haven’t finished watching yet.
Certainly does not have the sleeping areas in very chateau shape. More like a farm. A lot of mowing, slot of work. Furniture is terrible too.
