I had a major issue threading my Lowrance wires through the Old Town's ports. The plugs on my Lowrance were way too big. I ended up having to cut the tube thingy and open it around the cable, then I used some plastic bond to re-seal it. Other issue I had was the cables were too fat to fit the little piece that goes on top, so I had to rig up my own waterproofing. Took some silicone mat, cut out the shape, put it underneath the little tube thingy, screwed it in then sealed the hell out of it with some marine goop.
At the 29sec mark, there is a collar that is above your transducer when you had everything laid out. I believe it’s for the power cable? Did you hook that up anywhere?
Thanks for the video. With the transducer facing backwards (pointed forward), does that make the side view backwards or is their a keystroke on the garmin unit to orientate the transducer to the kayak?
I have same kayak AP120 and Garmin UHD 93sv. I’ve has bad interference and broke an off bmrand transducer mount. Then we tried the Navarre scupper mount screw is to long and transducer is backwards. I get interference when the trolling motor is on mostly on my clear Vu. Separate lithium batteries and ferrite ring has done nothing. Curious if you have suggestions to get rid of the interference? I see you have moved to another brand. Is the interference gone? Thanks, Kathy
I'm thinking of getting the Sportsman 120 AP to replace my Hobie. I run the Garmin Echomap 93SV, which I love. I see comments, however, that the trolling motor creates interference with sonar and downview, which concerns me. Have you found a fix for the interference?
The part I'm confused by was wiring the power cord that went to the front hatch - but then the battery used was in the rear hatch. Can you explain? TIA
Hi, Chris, thanks for the question. The cord that is running to the front hatch is the transducer cable. The power cord is in fact running to the battery in the back. Transducer cables can look like a power cord and typically come with a longer cord so you can put it anywhere on your kayak or boat. This may not have been explained in great detail and I hope this clears up anything that may have been confusing.
Did your prop clear the transducer with that mount? The way I mounted my 93sv transducer, the prop would hit and now my transducer doesn't work all that great.
@@ecofishingshop what about in traditional sonar (or chirp)? Do you get the noise interference then as well while operating the i-pilot trolling motor? I do. It's horrible.
I’m not sure on the mounting location of the predator but I would assume it will. However that particular mount broke but the seller did make everything right and sent out a new one. I’m currently just using the factory stuff I haven’t had time to reinstall the mount.

Same issue with 73sv. Tried the ferrite bead and it didn’t help. Only heard of this with Garmin so shopping for Hummingbird replacement.

Do you have any on screen sonor interference on your fish finder when you run this Garmin unit and the i-pilot trolling motor at the same time?
Yes and the only way I’ve been able to mitigate it is by turning your brightness down to 87 or so then adjust your contrast to your liking.

I do. It's horrible.
