A neat but also very annoying part of fighting Cro-Maine is, if he hits you with the club, you are literally knocked out of the boss arena and into the overworld. It is good because deaths are EXTREMELY costly and Cro just rings you out instead
I hope one day this game will be remasterd into a new console. I rented this game about 20 times with my dad when i was a kid. We rented it so much the dude at the rental store asked if we wanted to buy it and we did. I still have it today.
You can see he went for maximum mobility above everything else trough all his creatures, probably because it would be a nightmare to play hitless otherwise.
a gimmick seveal people dont know about is that you can tackle enemies by dashing and pressing A, it makes waaay easier to hit enemies without being hit yourself...i dare say its a game changer
This is one of the most interesting games on the SNES and has some cool hidden lore if you explore the world enough. I always like to beat the game as a horse (using the healing exploit because Bolbox twoshots the horse). Funnily, the horse can reach the maximum amount of damage per hit with his kicks. Also this game is very hard.
Technically the final boss of the first game is fighting Lucifer who at the end emerges from the moon as a giant spider, and the player character merges with the Earth to kill Lucifer.
For anyone who wants to get to play as a Flying Creature. You must climb the tallest mountain on the dino era an Jump from the ramp at it's peak. You Will get Wings right before You hit the ground. There's also a playable human Form. At the start of the Ice Era, a Ghost triceratops Will offer You the chance to become a rat, which haves access to the mammal evolutions. To get the human, You need to mix a Cat Head with a Rabbit Body to Have the option of becoming a monkey. Once You became the Monkey, You Just need to keep evolving further until You reach the human. But after that, the only thing You Will be able to change Is the size of the human between tall and short.
There is also a dragon form you can get via a red crystal in a secret area you can only access as a bird (and it’s the strongest form in this game) and a mermaid form you can only access in the Final Ocean in the final chapter of the game.
No hit is quite impressive. I myself have to evolve into a mammal to take out the Yetis and Cro-Maine, but I do use the green crystal to turn into a dragon for the final boss.
Looks like an interesting game to play. Of course watching someone who knows how to finesse the bosses like this, and playing it myself are two different beasts...
My idea if they will make a remake of this game for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam (my guess is that it will be an HD 2D game similar to Octopath Traveler or the Live a Live remake): Better English script and localization. Rename the creatures using proper names (e.g. "Ichthyostega" instead of "Ikustega", "Tyrannosaurus rex" or "T-rex" instead of "Tyrasaurus", "Cladoselache" instead of "Kuraselache"). The thecodonts ("Tecodonto") will be renamed "raptors" (also doubles as adaptation species change, in the original, they were basal archosaurs, but in the remake, they're Velociraptors (since the game features animals from different time periods in mashups of all of Earth's time periods)). The area they live in will now be renamed "Domain of Raptors" or "Raptors' Lair". Additionally, the Prime Frogs will be renamed "Devil Frogs", and their area should be named "Domain of Devil Frogs" or "Devil Frog Swamp". The Sand Eaters will be renamed "Sandworms" or "Death Worms". Bolbox, on the other hand, will have his name unchanged.
And to think I defeated the first 2 bosses without figuring I could evolve 🤔 Also, PRAISE THE FEATHERED DINOSAUR WITH A T-REX HEAD. Best build in the game bar NONE.
Boss list:
00:17 01 Kuraselach Leader
01:24 02 Boss Ikustega
02:48 03 King Bee
04:17 04 Queen Bee
05:39 05 Mother of Prime Frog
06:56 06 Tyrosaurus
08:40 07 Mammoth Brothers
10:36 08 Bird-King
11:55 09 Yeti & Yeti Mother
14:44 10 Yeti 2
15:41 11 King Rogan
16:52 12 Cro-Maine
18:38 Final Boss - Bolbox
adan fight a monster ?... damn !

The sheer amount of hit stun enemy attacks inflict in this game made it deceptively sadistic. Great job.
But you can stunlock them as well.
Poor yeti junior 😢
His mom was pretty hot though, NGL.
Yeti Junior: "I Don't Wanna Go."

One of the best Snes game, need sequel that badly or a remake
I’d be so mad if a dragonfly flew up to me and said “You are a failure”. The nerve.
Dragonflies can say that any time they want though. They have the highst kill per hunt ratio of all animals at ~80%.
The lizard bird was the true peak of evolution.
You can see he went for maximum mobility above everything else trough all his creatures, probably because it would be a nightmare to play hitless otherwise.
This was fun. I'm sad it ended because there wasn't another game like it (yet)
E.V.O reminds me of Spore
Tokyo Jungle has similar game mechanics involving eating animals and plants.
@desert2552 yeah but you don't evolve. You have to switch animals per stage
Before there was Spore, there was this :)
love this game
Last boss reminded me to Metroid somehow! Great vid as always!!

First game: epic final battle against Lucifer, who's a hot chick for some reason.
This game: fight a blob.
Technically the final boss of the first game is fighting Lucifer who at the end emerges from the moon as a giant spider, and the player character merges with the Earth to kill Lucifer.
Not Blob, A Giant Amoeba Creature.
And here I thought this was an impossible feat. Once again the 'serg proves me wrong!

Great boss fight as always ShadowSerg ❤❤❤
The final boss theme was also used in I Wanna Be The Guy
No. Just Giant Amoeba Creature.
@@mercedesjacevedosilva9146OP is right, play the game.
Cool game🎮👍👍👍👍

Playable Characters are different in this SNES game.......
The video begins with an angler fish biting a shark to death... I'm so confused.
The biggest scam is thinking the human form is good only to realize you can't shape out of it haha
Oh hey I finally found a recent one xD
Om nom nom nom nom

Okay, but what about the battle against Queen Bee in the 5th Era?
