This game's actually got an EVEN MORE OBSCURE prequel for the PC-98. Y'know, that obscure Japanese console you'll only know because it had Touhou? It was only released in Japan, obviously, but a fan-translation exists. And it plays like an RPG, surprisingly! Honestly, it's worth checking it out of this game intrigues you.

You also missed the Alien ending, when you jump of the clip and learn how to fly, if you fly directly up, you'll go to space and you'll see their ship. They will ask you if you'd want to go to their planet.

That's *one* way of getting a head start in the game! O_o I've only just discovered this on a Japanese playthrough (i.e. Retoruto's playthroughs) last night and I'm already intrigued (despite its flaws).
I really like EVO. Yes, the grind is insane and boss battles are really difficult but it's so unique and fun I can forgive that. It's really a shame there was no sequel/similar games. I feel there is a lot of potential here that was simply impossible to unleash on a Super Nintendo.

Yeah, but that was subtle, took a while for people to notice, and most people still love all the songs. I think it was done as a secret for people to find more than laziness considering the amount of effort put into everything else.

Hmmm I disagree, usually when Toby Fox mixed old songs into new ones he did a lot more than just change the tone, and it the few songs which were just warped forms of others were usually different enough that you didn’t realise they were the same. In EVO, it’s much more like just tiny changes based on the level you’re on.

I still own the snes cartridge, I looked at it and the pricing on ebay and I'm like. my god I own something extremely valuable. I do think this game should be remastered with 3d models but keep everything the same.

Why not the 3DS though? It's basically a wii u on the go. You got you're screen where you control stuff. You got your screen where you watch stuff and do all of that willy nilly.
I think they should make a full sequel. Imagine if they fleshed everything out completely? As much as I enjoyed playing this game, it really was more or less, grind until you get the best evolution, then stomp on everything until the boss stomps you. But what if the weird rhino face actually had a purpose? Or if you could actually beat the game as something other than a human?
And if you could, then you are amazing. Them bosses are absurd.
One of the best games ever made, IMO. I go back to play it again every few years and try a new build

Undertale is a really good game, in my opinion. But going to just about any video and seeing a thousand "HURR HURR UNDERTALE REFERENCE????????" comments is getting irritating. Okay, they used an Undertale track once. Wow. So amazing. Comment worthy. If someone did this for EVERY music track in EVERY video as much as people do it for Undertale, the comment section would be flooded with music comments. Sigh. Just venting, I guess.

He not only played one track, but he also put a UT screensaver on his computer and one of the first things he said when he was talking about the game itself and not about history/price is that in this game "is kill or be killed", i personally think about Moonson when i hear that, but yeah, that's also Flowey filosofy and yada yada yada...

What's the point of getting meat on a boss of the reset you're points
You can actually record your evolutions and use them later on, so you can max out your character on that time period or experiment with it with all those point and just use it later on a boss or a difficult level.

You missed very important thing about this great game, every time you evolve you heal so save you evo points for boss fight and when health gets low just remove horn or add horn or whatever is cheapest at the time it helps a lot.....this is one of my favorite games out there.

In the future if I come across a really heated internet debate about evolution wherein the combatants clearly don't know what they're talking about, I'll link them this vid. It's even great because the game can't definitively be placed in either camp despite it's main gameplay being evolution! The perfect trolling! :D In seriousness, I think this is my favorite SpaceHamster video. I thought the "I am Gaia" would get old really quick. Instead it got progressively more hilarious! Poor SpaceHamster, this looked like a chore to play. Good on ya for being able to push through and make the video!

I loved this game as a kid, rented it all the time at Blockbuster.. Nice to see a TH-cam video about it, was starting to think it had been lost to time!
In case anyone is playing through the game and having problems on any bosses, you can "cheese" through it by abusing evolution. Every time you evolve (or devolve) you get all your HP back. So choose something that's cheap and doesn't effect the combat *too* much and evolve it back and forth whenever you need a heal. Neck length worked pretty well iirc, since most bosses were so big that having a short neck wasn't too harmful.
You can also beat the entire game as a Dinosaur because the game lets you chose whether or not you become a mammal.
Man, that horn break heals you and so does evo point spending. If you use that it is not that bad.
This game actually doesn't actually look too bad

Vivien Portier so evolution is about the growth of real animals over time, those growth changes were made to allow creatures to adapt to the current living conditions. aliens are generally seen as creatures that have advanced technology in space, meaning they don't need to adapt, defeating the purpose of evolution.

The problem with the aliens is not how they came to be but that it is implied that they impacted evolution heavily.
