Even the final boss isn't the machines only, he's also a person you fight against. The difference in the true final boss' stage is the color outside of the battlefield, it's red or orange (I don't remember). After you defeat his machines, he'll appear to the battle, then be careful because he can stop the time.
i am well versed with the franchise. i've only played saturn bomberman on one occasion. i've never played neo bomberman or super bomerman 5. not even bomberman 2 on nes on bomberman on PC-Engine. bomberman 94 is fairly easy up until the third boss and the final stage. bomberman 93 is more of a challenge because you have to have the right power ups to beat them. the first boss is easy, but when you hit him enough times he will teleport from a certain spot where his double appears, but you have to hit the real one. the second boss will shed his minions until he appears in his real form that is when you can hit him. the third boss can only be hit when he's just about to land on the ground again. the fourth has red parts you have to hit, but the minions are the worst. you have to fend them off on top of that. the fifth has two giant crabs and can only be hit when crouching down. on top of that you have to fend of the small crabs as well. in super bomberman i've only got as far as the mecha bomber fight. i beat a few, but lost lives against subsequent mecha bombers. in super bomberman 3 i've got to the final stage on a few occasions, but i've got past only a few sections of the stage. in super bomberman 4 i've got as far as the third boss, but never beaten him. on bomberman GB i've got to the final boss, but never beaten him.
