Lifting the legs from the floor is the hardest part of the press for me, balance will still be an issue as I get up though. The feeling of those legs shaking as they lift from the floor is something one cannot forget, it makes you use more momentum than what you want. Doing drills in this area helps a lot.
Yes the Press is very technical movement with lots of moving parts. Repetition in all the different segments is key: Full Pathway, Mobility, Eccentric, Concentric, Balance and Lift Off....
Yesterday I was doing a press to handstand routine and ended up in this wierd situation, not knowing how to actually lift my feet up, and today you post this video. What a clutch!! Always thank you for the tons on value you add to your community
@@PaulTwyman yes indeed just tried it today lol well I still need to work on my handstand because my back just wouldn't straighten (it hurts my wrist as well)
So does more hip flexibility make this movement easier? It seems that if a person could start with their feet closer to their hands, they could better "stack" and not have to muscle through it quite as much? Might be wrong.. just watching you and making a guess here.
Yes thats correct but you need to be careful as the more flexible tend to drop back to their feet like Forward Fold instead of loading through the Upper back and shoulders. Ideally you build both great flexibility and Strength

I havent got much flexibility and the press to handstand is very difficult because I have to load more weight into the shoulders
Bend the arms and the legs slightly. Use strength as you work on your flexibility
Great video as always (just a quick comment for the algo in case that helps!)
Much Appreciated!!

What position should my hands be in, forward, 45%, etc.?
Yeah turned out in some way, not to far so you lose control in the fingers but enough to keep the wrists happy and a stronger position.
You look like a frog jumping…Lol, nice! Thank you, I will start trying this method 🎈
Awesome 🐸
