      EXCELLENT point and I get it's live but SA traded an All-Star, Utah traded two, and OKC has traded 5-6. However, I agree with Mike that what you do is trade Noel, Bogdon, and Burks to build the war chest. Burks has a 10 ML team option next year. I'm not paying dude 10 mil to play here next year when we need to only be playing our youth.

    • @jermainepennymon1158
      @jermainepennymon1158 ปีที่แล้ว

      @SamPrestiFanClub I'm with you as far as Burks & Noel but like I say he's holding out for that 1st for Bogey.If it wasn't presented this yr no reason why it can't be revisited again next year possibly or during the off season.

    • @AdamLovesHorror
      @AdamLovesHorror ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jermainepennymon1158 the league changed dramatically over the last 72 hours and if anything I think teams will see after some of these moves that they are not going to be as good as they hoped. If I’m right, this will make even more teams sellers and then there would be even more options for those who are buying. Hell only be a year older. I hope you’re right but I don’t see it and if it was doable I’d want the draft pick for next year and now that likely won’t happen.

Alec Burks could go for second rounders. Not because he isn’t good but because we should not pick up his 10ML option next year so what’s the point of keeping him. Same with Noel, we have a million big men.

      no doubt about it. Get whatever you could for it. There are only 48 minutes in a game you can't play Beef, MG, Noel, Duren, and Wiseman constantly and some of them need to be playing lots of minutes to get better. Lifetime Golden State Warriors fan here-been a fan from 1973-before the dynasty so you know I've seen a thing or two with this franchise. I've never pulled harder for a young draft pick more than by James Wiseman-a really good young dude who didn't deserve some of the stuff he's had to deal with. I will tell you that what he's always needed ALL THE TIME for the last 5 years was to JUST PLAY BASKETBALL. That's it. He hasn't really played basketball with players that are not beneath him in talent. He always looked lost on the floor in Golden State's system. They wanted him to be another Andrew Bogut, Zaza Pachulia, David West type and that NEVER was Wiseman. You can see the raw potential there but in order to get better-he needed to play basketball-somewhere. He missed an entire college career outside of 69 minutes of college ball in 3 games. He had COVID, he missed a few practices due to communication issues-and he tore his meniscus JUST when he was starting to look like something good in the 2020-21 season. He looked only OK in the G League as he is still so far behind on basic big man fundamentals-for some reason Penny Hardaway taught him to play like a guard on the offensive end. If you watch his tape this year-you'll see shorter offensive players just eat him alive in the paint-depressing and embarrassing. No one ever focused on that part of his game. He played with Precious Achiuwa at U of Memphis-you can see how good Precious was and it covered up the holes in Wiseman's extremely short college career. He never played in games in front of scouts preparing for the draft. The most damning thing for him with Golden State was that when he was in the game with Stephen Curry-it absolutely destroyed the productivity of Steph's minutes something fierce. He had the worst plus/minus in the league. All this said-he went to absolutely the wrong team to play for-a championship team that needs their big man to be a screen setter, rebounder, passer-someone who really knows the game. Not a budding physical freak with guard skills with a fantastic offensive touch around the basket. He just needs to play, and play a lot. I look forward to seeing him proceed along the way of his basketball career and I truly hope he has a fantastic set of seasons for Detroit! He deserves it-he's been through a rough start to his career and he's a sweet good guy down in his heart.

    These “incredible draft nights” include taking killian Hayes over Halliburton and Maxey. A trade that ended up giving us two average players at best (Stewart and Bey). Two picks a fourth grader could have made (Cade and Ivey). And the Duren trade which I still like.

    Jaden Ivey, Killian Hayes, Jalen Duren, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, Cade Cunningham. Six Top 20 picks and they did absolutely nothing together. They weren't even contending in games if we're being honest.
    Spurs, Thunder, Jazz having all those picks are great, but if they can't develop them into pieces, picks don't matter. The only time it matters is when you can trade them for a superstar like Donovan Mitchell (who the Pistons should have drafted over Luke Kennard in the first place).

  • @bryantwaller786

    I see him talking about the pistons war chest how they have none. U talked about Utah Cleveland and okc having more picks and all that and they started rebuilding after us. But u make no sense because all those teams had all stars to trade to get those picks Troy weaver had to buy out guys he didn’t have that luxury to trade for picks. And the vets we now are not getting us 1st round picks. Some of these people with this platform just say anything without thinking or doing research.

  • @tcattorney1080
    @tcattorney1080 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Actually I think the rebuild is going well. They are supposed to suck right now to get talent. Next year they make the leap absent some bad luck. Let me paint a very reasonable scenario. Cunningham returns. Go get Jeremy grant. Doable given his relation with Weaver, we treated him well, and frankly our position will be better than portlands. Without “winning the lotto” get the forward from Alabama-the miller kid. All three things are doable. I think those three things happen and u are a playoff team. You just need a little seasoning. Suddenly this team is highly talented with size, athleticism, shooting, scoring and defense with its best years ahead of them.

    There are more ways to build a contender. Please note the Warriors in the early 2010s. They didn’t have a war chest of assets. they drafted smart by picking Steph, Thompson, Barnes and Draymond Green. They accumulated all-stars through the draft, and kept the payroll low. Then they were able to give a max to Durant and they became a dynasty. Safe to say we have at least 4 guys who project to be all-stars or high end role players, with a top 5 pick coming up. There will be misses or bad moves as they always are…but we do have legit assets now that we didn’t have in the past while still having a reasonable payroll. If everyone in the league is accumulating draft capital then the market becomes saturated and would diminish in value.

    The Pistons now have two players that played for Penny in Memphis. Wiseman was compared Rasheed in the draft. (Maybe we get another in Emoni Bates).
    Also, I feel like this trade was more of "the only way Saddiq fits on this team is if we GET Wemby". If we do not get Wemby, we are going to either end up with Scoot, or another wing (WHICH IS A HIGH CHANCE). Saddiq would be a volume 3 point shooter with Wemby. His role with this current team, and if we don't get Wemby is NOT CLEAR. That's why he was traded. Right?

Pistons will never be what the lakers, suns, bucks and a couple others are or even close. We are a very small market team that no free agents wanna come too. NBA needs a huge overhaul before a lot of fans can take this league serious. Once stern retired and silver took over it’s been a shit show. Highlights without any fundamentals, superstars going to play with other superstars to win a ring. The league is watered down and too immature. You get rid of your most promising SF on a young team for a C on a team with 5 Centers already. AND your best hope is to draft a Center with the 1st pick??? Not even any sort of first rounder for Bey. Why are we clenching onto Bogdan like he's going to push us to the top when he's what 37? Also can we get rid of Casey like it's over we're moving backwards fast out here 😵

      The only promise from Bey is that he's not going to pass the ball or play defense

      @Scott Cada you mean bogdan? Bey wouldn't of gotten shots on this team if not for cade being out. I'm just saying if not a first rounder or multiple picks why even bother

    Oh hey, how's jaden Ivey doing? Crap like I said he would. Pistons need a new GM who knows how to put together a team and not just get pieces one-at-a-time.

    I've said this in other Pistons podcast. Weaver has been given too much credit. He's built the worst team in the NBA. LOOK at other NBA teams okc, spurs,etc.... pistons whole organization is a shit show
