G League assignment, while disappointing for the 2nd overall pick, is sensible. Warriors need guys playing who are ready to consistently contribute to winning basketball. Wiseman (played 3 games in college, missed time his rookie year with injury + all of last season) is a project. He needs to be in an environment where he has the opportunity and freedom to make mistakes and get better as a player. Could say he was a reach at 2, could say LaMelo would’ve been a better pick, could say that the two timelines approach is suspect. All valid.
First of Jordan Poole went to the G League and he vastly improved his game, also Wiseman played like three college games total, then he had a rookie season and was injured. His situation is far different than most first round draft picks.

I knew something was coming. I intentionally watched the last 3 Warriors games for Wiseman & Curry(of course). And Wiseman was a healthy scratch all three games, some guy named Lamb took his minutes. Hopefully he figures it out.

He attempts 4 dunk attempts a game and is averaging 58% on those.
There is a reason he isn't playing 36 minutes, and that's because he wouldn't be nowhere near his "per 36" self and would hurt his team.
Whereas a legit 18/10 guy would be allowed to play minutes.
This is UNFAIR to James wiseman. The warriors are 2-8 when wiseman is NOT playing. KLAY is the issue, Jordan Poole had 1 good game in 15 tries, Jamychal green has been atrociou, Kevon looney is NOT being guarded on offense and can’t guard big mans. And you have Stephen A calling out James wiseman who hasn’t even played a full nba season when you have Vets playing like DOODOO. Come on man.
For me I would try this first five for warriors...curry,poole,wiggins,kuminga and wiseman maybe just give it a try enough playing time...
In terms of basketball experience, Wiseman is in the middle of his freshman year of college. The real question is: How fast a learner is he? My prediction: PBJ will be playing important rotation minutes before him.
He has 50 NBA games (27 starts) and he's 21 years old. 1 and done is always a risk, just like the lottery.
@@alanchristie368 His 27 starts were for the team that finished as the worst team in the league. So you could add it was low value experience. Wiseman simply isn't good, and it'll take him longer to develop than the Warriors anticipated, that's going to hurt them this season. Their championship aspirations left with Otto, GP2 and Bjelica. You can't replace vets with 2nd & 3rd year guys and expect to pick up where you left off. Kuminga got benched in the Finals, he was unplayable, Warriors young guys aren't behind schedule, they right on schedule they were never supposed to be good enough to contend this early, GSW fans are now realizing that winning a championship doesn't speed up development.

PBJ is special, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a superstar in a couple yrs. Nike made sure to sign him early I think they got the vision too.

@@kensamuel7257 Klay is pressing for whatever reason and the Barkley comments seem to have him pressing even more. He just needs to relax and let the game come to him on offense. I don't think he'll be the defender he once was though, that's usually the first thing to go once a player is no longer in his prime and especially after two major injuries.

The Warriors systematic offense doesn't compliment Kuminga or Weisman's style of play! The Warriors old offense that they continue to run was built for the "Splash Brothers!" Everyone doesn't play like Steph or Klay! Kerr needs to switch the offense when he has the younger group out there! Kerr is Killing Weisman's career by keeping him strictly a Lob catching center like Capella. Watch his Memphis highlights and tell me this man can't do everything! Kerr needs to let him off the leash instead of breaking his confidence!
They have to trade him asap and currently the best option is Jakob Poeltl. Word has it GS has a luxury tax problem and the could save about 15 million trading Wiseman and Baldwin for Poeltl.

Its a cute thought though, but in 2020, you think the warriors needed a back up point guard to come off the bench behind Steph Curry? Winning a championship doesn't speed up development. The Warriors young core are right on schedule, truth being they were never going to be good enough to contend this early on. Can't replace GP2, Otto and Bjelica with 2nd & 3rd year players then expect not to experience regression. Curry doesn't equal carry, he's never carried his team in his career, the 2 seasons he didn't have help they missed the playoffs, now he doesn't have adequate help, so they're in danger of missing the playoffs, it's not rocket science.

Thabeet was was really sad because he was good defensively in college but when he got to the NBA he looked so lost and could never get that spark that Memphis was hoping for.

As for Klay, he should set his ego aside and come off the bench. Poole is more productive as a starter and Klay can help solidify the bench, which has been woeful.

Yo Wiseman really took a huge step back by being drafted by GSW. If he went to a shitty team, he would have had to improve but waltzing into a ring your first year with minimal playing time almost always ends up with your growth hitting stagnation. Sucks for him, this is as much GSW's fault as it is James's. They tanked, took a guy who needed to develop and decided to not help him develop. If he was drafted by Charlotte, Chicago or Cleveland he would have been much better off. If GSW was smart they'd trade him to a team that needs young guys for the future. Being stuck behind egos like Dray, Steph and Klay will prevent him from blooming.

Wiseman will be fine. Warriors will be fine. Wise missed a lot of ball with injuries. It will take a while for him to fit his game in with the current Hall of Famers.. Grown folks know patience is a virtue. Steven A has not learned from the Kwame Brown situation. Wiseman is 21. At 21 Steven A especially in the NBA there is a learning curve. He has the talent and he will be fine. As for Klay he will be alright too. Sometimes fans can get spoiled. Here's where you find out what kind of coaching staff you have. Looney started 36 games total in his first FIVE seasons. McGee started 12 games in a stretch of SEVEN seasons.
Why the hate on Klay? He's only two baskets below his career average of 19-PPG. His rebounding, assists, steals, etc...are all the same as his career average. Yeah, he can heat up and go bananas from time to time, scoring 37 in a single quarter, or 60 points in 3-quarters, but he's still only a 19-PPG average. This year is 15 PPG. Everything else is the same.

@@boochtron I think it's all in his head. Did you watch him and Curry in the 3-point contest this year overseas? He drilled nearly every shot, just as many or more than Curry. The shot never leaves a shooter. His problem is between his ears. And yes, he sucks until he fixes that.

Now he is too slow to even get open off those same plays. So he is just chucking up contested bricks all game. He was never someone who could create his own shot consistently. Dudes been shooting wide open catch and shoot 3 most of his career and people hype him over Ray Allen and Reggie foh. I can honestly understand why dude never made that top 75, he is an over glorified spot up shooter for the most part benefitting off Steph being double teamed every night. Now that he is pretty much the slowest guard in the league, he is struggling to even get open OFF BALL.... And he's getting cooked on defense now by guards like Devin Booker too.

They have good streaks then long horrendous streaks. They are not consistent. The league is trash because of it. Why is SAS shocked? None of these dudes play great night in..night out. Giannis just had 16 points…or something ridiculous. Embiid has played horribly most of the year and just now had a few great games. These guys are inconsistent, and underachievers because the hype is far exceeding the reality, for most of these players.

I called it after they won last season. They will not repeat. Last season was a fluke. Warriors aren't that good. Steph led them in a season & won the Finals MVP but the league wasn't at full strength.
