In today's video, titled "24 Hours to Reset Your Mind and Body" we will delve into the fascinating concept of Dopamine Detox and the strict rules I followed during this transformative journey.
For an entire day, I fully committed to following these rigorous rules of Dopamine Detox in order to reset my mind and body:
1. No use of electronics - This meant abstaining from my phone, Netflix, laptop, or video games to eliminate distractions and digital stimulation.
2. No reading of books or magazines - By refraining from reading materials, I allowed my mind to focus solely on the present moment.
3. No engagement in sexual activities or masturbation - I chose to minimize dopamine release from such behaviors.
4. No consumption of food - I opted for a full-day fast to give my body a break from constant dopamine spikes triggered by eating.
5. No talking - Embracing silence helped me limit external stimuli and focus on inner reflection.
6. No listening to music or podcasts - I eliminated auditory distractions to enhance mindfulness and introspection.
7. No coffee or other stimulants - I avoided substances that could influence dopamine levels, promoting a natural detoxification process.
Join me as I share my personal experience with this intense 24-hour Dopamine Detox and the profound effects it had on resetting my mind and body. Discover how this disciplined approach can help you regain control over your habits, improve focus, and create a healthier balance in your life.

So you decided to not be a functioning person for 24 hours?
bro was about to say no breathing smh
I took a break from usual distractions to reset my focus and productivity. It's all about balance! 😊
This isn’t functioning. It’s dependency. Are you claiming that we didn’t function before social media, internet and electronic devices existed? 😂
@@jessicaaguirre1755
I can't tell if you are serious. Hopefully not.
Detox can help regain focus. We're not saying we didn't function, but it's about finding balance in the digital age.
I think activities like reading books, eating food ( for survival) are productive and are worth to do 😅 .
True, some activities are essential for survival and growth. The goal is to limit excess stimulation and find a balance that works for you.
No to fiction book and junk food for 24hours simple as that
@@admiralvaldez You're right
Simply sit in a boring environment for 24hr and do literally nothing, take 30 min sunlight and drink water .Sleep naturaly in night.
Indeed, the essence of a dopamine fast is simplicity. Disconnect from stimuli, embrace boredom, take in sunlight, hydrate, and allow natural sleep. A day of mental detox for a reset.
Here's what I did- I woke up at 6 and went for a scenic drive to the mountains, toured a castle and the fort, stayed up in a hotel that night, woke up the next day and drove back home...the best detox you could imagine..without gadgets 😀😀
That sounds like a fantastic way to disconnect and recharge! Nature and new experiences can be a refreshing dopamine detox. 😄🏞️
Here your dopamine has release I think so.. 😅😅😅
Instead of "No Food", you can go for " Tasteless healthy food" .. May be without sugar,salt,spicy..
Trying out bland but nutritious foods can be surprisingly enjoyable and can encourage us to explore new flavors and cooking techniques. Who knows, we might stumble upon a healthy dish that becomes a regular part of our meals, making it easier to stick to a balanced diet.
Not eating is insane along with all that
I understand that not eating during the dopamine fast may seem extreme to some. It's important to remember that the detox is a personal choice, and individual circumstances vary. While some may choose to include fasting for the benefits they perceive, it's crucial to prioritize one's health and well-being above all else. Adjusting the rules to suit individual needs and comfort levels can still lead to valuable insights and benefits. It's about finding a balance that works for you while experiencing the benefits of reducing dopamine-driven distractions in modern life.
I've done both intermittent and 24hr fasting, and deopamine detoxes, and I dont think its feasible for even very driven individuals to try a dopamine detox AND 24 hour fasting at the same time, takes an abundance of willpower that simply won't be there considering WHY people do a detox in the first place...@@JoinMrSmart
No eating is for those that are mood eaters. If you aren’t a mood eater then you simply exchange no eating with no sugar or junk food.
That's a valid point! For some, it may work better to swap "no eating" with "no sugar or junk food" during a dopamine detox. Customizing the detox to your needs is key.
I cleaned the whole fucking house like I have an OCD. I even wanted to fixed my bike but I'm so tired.
Sounds like you channeled your energy into cleaning! It's amazing how the mind seeks focus. Remember to rest too!
a better idea is to eat healthy whole foods, exercise, read books, cold showers, grow your career or business. i feel like thats more productive
Thank you for your suggestion! Those are indeed great habits for overall well-being. Dopamine fasting is about reducing stimulus to reset sensitivity, but combining both approaches could be beneficial for balance.
i think it's more than that. even if we do nothing, our brain unconsiously imagining something good that trigger dophamine
That's a great point! You're right, even without external stimulation, our brains can still trigger dopamine release through thoughts and imagination.
Stand in a corner don’t move
Standing still in a corner could be a form of meditation, but the goal of a dopamine fast is to limit stimulating activities and focus on calming the mind. Movement is generally allowed, but should be limited to avoid excessive stimulation.
Nah bro I’m cooked 💀
- Ultimate Gen Z dopamine detox practitioner
Haha, sounds intense! It's like hitting the ultimate reset button. Props to anyone trying this Gen Z detox challenge.
Basically You Became An NPC For 24 Hours
Haha, I guess you could say that! It was definitely an interesting challenge to strip away all those distractions for a day. 😊
In short, the simple solution is to go to sleep.😂😂😂😂
Sleep can be a helpful part of dopamine fasting, but the goal is to reset your dopamine receptors by avoiding stimulating activities. It's about mindful disconnection to appreciate simple pleasures more. 😊
Don't breathe either
Haha, breathing is essential! 😄 But seriously, the dopamine fast is about resetting, not breath control.
I'm inspired by the life-changing impact of this content. A book with parallel themes had a profound effect on my perspective. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
Thank you! Glad you found the video impactful. 'A Life Unplugged' resonates with similar themes. Hope it continues to inspire your perspective shift.
*How the human race went extinct*
Luckily, it's just a temporary detox, not a permanent lifestyle. Humanity should survive this experiment just fine! 😄
The reason of doing dopamine detox is to reset brain's reward system in order to break bad habits and eventually create dependency with new ones.
With your recommendations of "no books" and "no talking", are probably THE MOST ABSURD parts of this challenge.
Appreciate the feedback! The idea is to minimize all stimuli, even those seen as positive, to truly reset. It's intense but temporary, aiming for a fresh start.
No food
that's what is really difficult
You're absolutely right, no food was definitely the toughest part for me. It takes a lot of willpower!
And no breathing 🙂
Haha, good one! While breathing is definitely essential, it seems the idea here is to eliminate external stimuli that can trigger dopamine release. Thanks for the humor!
let me guess, no breathing either?
Haha, no worries! 😄 Breathing is definitely allowed during a dopamine detox. It's all about taking a break from high-stimulation activities and giving your mind a reset. So, deep breaths are encouraged!
It was a joke 🫤
@@JoinMrSmartI personally love the dopamine stimulation from breathing, really makes me feel alive and it’s almost addictive with how often I breath without even knowing.
@@kylezdancewicz7346 Breathing mindfully can indeed be invigorating! It's amazing how such a simple act can bring a sense of aliveness. Thanks for sharing!
@@user-hc2jm7cg1w Thanks for your comment! Glad you found it humorous. Dopamine fasting can indeed seem extreme, but it's all about finding a balance that works for you.
I LIVE WITH MY FAMILY I NEED TO TALK TO THEM😅
Haha, yeah, that one rule can be tough with a family around! Maybe you could agree on a quiet hand signal for 'need a dopamine detox break'?
I successfully completed 24hrs without phone and my dad gave 100₹ 🥶😅
Nice! Sounds like you got a reward for putting the phone down. My challenge was a bit more intense.
No More Fortnite No More 19 Dollar Card!
"Thanks for sharing! Dopamine fasting is about reducing stimulating activities to reset the brain. It's not about deprivation but reevaluating our relationship with pleasure. Stay tuned for more insights!
everything makes sense EXCEPT FOR NO FOOD, how did you survive
Skipping food for 24 hours is part of the challenge to reset your brain's reward system during a dopamine detox. It's tough but can enhance focus and clarity.
So no reading, can i atleast write or draw?? I dont want to be too bored
During a dopamine fast, refraining from reading includes written materials. However, feel free to draw or write to pass time without stimulating activities. Enjoy the break!
So , we are supposed to do nothing😢
Exactly! It's about stripping things back to reset. Try meditating or gentle walking to reflect and recharge. It’s tough but can be refreshing!
you are basically depriving me of everything Dx
I understand it may seem extreme, but a dopamine fast can help reset your brain's reward system. It's a temporary challenge for long-term benefits.
No eating
You're right, completely avoiding food during a dopamine detox is not recommended and can be unhealthy. A more balanced approach focuses on limiting processed foods and sugary drinks that trigger dopamine spikes.
What did you replace all those?
It seems like you took on quite the challenge! Without those usual stimulants, you probably had to find new ways to occupy your time and engage your mind.
For me it's no entertainment only work ✅
Sounds like a productive approach! Finding that balance between work and leisure is key.
You forgot one more thing which is
*No breathing*
Haha! Good one! But breathing is essential for life. The dopamine fast is about resetting your brain, not suffocating yourself!
So can i study ? What should i do all day ? The things i dont like?
During a dopamine fast, focus on mindful activities like meditation, light exercise, or journaling. You can study, but avoid overstimulating subjects. It's about resetting your brain's reward system.
@@JoinMrSmartcan i listen to music
@@nqooooo Noo
No breathing
😂 Luckily, breathing was still allowed!
Not to do even reading books , then waht i should do in these 24 hours
During a 24-hour dopamine fast, focus on activities like meditation, journaling, light exercise, and nature walks to reset and reflect.
@@JoinMrSmartExplain damn why
@@JoinMrSmartCouldn't reading books allows you to discover yourself, your perceptions about it and reflecting how you react on it?
That really sounds shit to me.
@@TheUnbotheredTexanbooks literally gives you excitement. That alone is a dopamine boost.
@@TheUnbotheredTexandumbass it's a dopamine detox not a trip for knowledge. Reading uses your imagination as is still a stimulating experience.
Simply do something you hate to do
Exactly! The Dopamine Fast encourages stepping out of your comfort zone and facing challenges head-on to reset your brain's reward system. 💪
So basically die and come back after 24h
It's about resetting, not dying. Recharge your mind for a fresh perspective!
No breathing 😂😂
Haha, good catch! Breathing is definitely allowed. It's all about resetting and focusing on the essentials.
People be copin hard 😂😂😂
Yeah, it can definitely seem like a challenge, but some people find it helpful for resetting and recharging. Different strokes for different folks!
Not gonna do the no food part, but I will eat plain lettuce and apples and stuff, just gonna start with no junkfood
Sounds like a solid plan! Starting with healthier food choices is a great step towards a dopamine detox. Keep it up!

So be deceased for a day.. got it.
That's definitely a challenging set of rules to follow! It seems like it might be difficult to find enjoyment or stimulation during that time. How did you find it?
Is it ok to have food fasting simultaneously
Yes, combining food fasting with a dopamine fast can be done, but it's crucial to prioritize your health and comfort during this process. Listening to your body is key.
We can drink water and sleep?
Yes, you can drink water and sleep during a dopamine fast. It's important to stay hydrated and rest during the detox.
So basically getting lost out in the dessert.
Exactly! A dopamine fast is like a mental reset in the desert of simplicity-no distractions, just you and your thoughts.
No books(good books that boost productivity),I do not accept this rule
Absolutely, focusing solely on specific types of beneficial reading could be an adjustment. Consider exploring other productive activities during the fast to maximize its benefits!
This sounds like solitary confinement 0_o;
It may seem challenging, but a dopamine fast can be a valuable reset for some. It's about disconnecting briefly to appreciate simpler pleasures. 😌
I have totally left music and now I am totally okay...Life is more beautiful now
by leaving music...its easiest to leave everything
music is the root of all this
Music holds different meanings for everyone. If leaving it has brought more beauty to your life, that's wonderful. Each journey to balance is unique. Enjoy the newfound beauty in life.
No thinking or breathing either
Thank you for your feedback! The 24-hour dopamine fast I described aims to minimize external stimuli, which includes avoiding activities that trigger dopamine production. However, thinking and breathing are essential functions that can't be entirely stopped. The idea is to reduce distractions and create mental space for reflection and self-awareness. Remember to adapt the rules to suit your needs and take care of yourself. Give it a try and see what insights you gain from the experience!
So, join wild life. Africa wild reserve is one of better choice❤.
Ha, that's one way to unplug! Embracing nature like in an African wildlife reserve sure sounds like a deep detox. Thanks for the smile! 😄
What’s left? Sleep for the rest of the day?
Remaining activities include meditation, journaling, gentle walks in nature, and simple mindfulness exercises. It's about resetting and finding contentment in simplicity.
How thats no music im singer and musicienne 😂😂😂
Sometimes we give our brains a break to reset. But for a musician like you, it's a different kind of challenge-imagine the fresh inspiration waiting for you after the detox!
Can I read non fictional books
Sure, you can read non-fictional books! The goal is to limit stimulating activities to reset, but if it's not overly engaging, it should be fine. Happy detoxing!
I was thinking to do that but when i hear that no food????
Yeah, it can be challenging, especially the 'no food' part! But a dopamine detox can reset your habits and focus. Give it a try!
How tf do I not eat for 24 hours
It's challenging but can reset your dopamine response. Stay hydrated and focus on activities like walking or meditation.
@@JoinMrSmart oh well,I mean it is possible so.
Possibilities are endless when you have the right mindset.
That’s not a dopamine detox..
It seems like there might be some misunderstanding about what a dopamine detox entails. Could you clarify what you mean by "dopamine detox"?
Hmm
Dopamine fasting is about cutting out stimuli to reset. It's a challenge but can be a refreshing break for your mind.
Naw the club has never looked fun to me, just looks like a sad way to waste money. I could have way more fun playing a game for less money

No foods?bruh💀
Dopamine fasting is about resetting the brain's reward system. No food is extreme, but it's for a short 24-hour period to reduce stimulus overload. Always consult a doc before trying!
You really have lost your mind buddy 😂
Sometimes, a little break from the usual can be refreshing! 😄

@@JoinMrSmart i know bor....But i think you can't understand....😅😅😅😅
no inhale oxygen point is missing
Absolutely! Oxygen is essential, no doubt. The focus was on reducing stimulants to reset. Breathing clean air is a must for any detox. Thanks for pointing it out!
what about dying for 24h
The goal of a dopamine fast is to reset habits and enhance focus. It's not about depriving oneself to the point of harm. It's a structured break to recalibrate.
No food? Bro are you sure you are reading the correct book
Yes, no food is part of it for a full reset. It's extreme but about minimizing all pleasure sources for 24 hours to recalibrate dopamine sensitivity.
@@JoinMrSmart oh thx for the info
bro, dopamine detox can be compared to detox of some kind of addiction
so definitely it doesn't work in just 24 hours but like 30 days
and you shouldn't stop eating speaking to people and things like that to
Dopamine fast: A 24-hour reset, not addiction cure. Longer detox for lasting change. Eating & connecting allowed for balance.
No books?
Correct, no books to limit external stimuli. The aim is to reset and refocus. Thanks for watching!
You can literally do the same thing by setting a timer for 10 minutes every hour. During that 10 minutes you do nothing like you stated. Works just the same
That's an interesting perspective! The 24-hour Dopamine Fast is more immersive, but the 10-minute hourly break can also be effective for mindfulness. Different strokes for different folks! 😊🕒
do you yourself do such things , tell me.
Occasionally practicing aspects helps reset focus. It's about balance and self-discipline. What about you? Any methods you find effective?
@@JoinMrSmart look man i did do a dopamine detox but i didnt starve myself
Btw have you ever done the same task in this short by yourself or not , give me your answer in a yes or no
No, I haven't. But the aim isn't starvation; it's about reducing stimuli to reset dopamine response. There are variations.
@@JoinMrSmart then bro keep idea's to yourself, have a great day

so what we do in all day?????
A dopamine fast encourages a break from stimulating activities to reset the mind. Try meditation, nature walks, or journaling for a reflective day.

No, you can still breathe during a dopamine fast. It's about limiting activities that stimulate dopamine production, like those listed in the rules.
I'm interested , but no food and no talking ! For 24 hours straight
I think it's impossible specially if you live with your family !
And no food means lake of energy
, and if so at what I should start eating the next day?
I understand it can be challenging. Start with a light meal the next day and gradually reintroduce regular foods. Hydration is key too!
Lake of energy won't affect you if you don't do any energy consuming activities and STOP COPING BICH EXCUSES!!!!!
Thanks for your feedback! The Dopamine Fast aims to reset focus and discipline. It's not about excuses but self-improvement. Give it a try! 😊
Wtf bro💀
Hey, it's not for everyone! Some find it helpful for focus and resetting habits. Different strokes for different folks, right?
He lost me at no food lol
Food's tough to skip, right? But it's about challenging our comforts for a reset. Maybe try a modified detox that suits you better!
Zero scientific evidence or test result.
I appreciate your input! While individual experiences can vary, many people find that dopamine fasting helps them gain better control over their habits and focus. The approach is more about self-awareness and experimenting with new routines. If you're interested, you might give it a try and see how it feels for you. Feel free to share your thoughts or questions!
Go sleep go sleep 😂😂😂
Sleep is indeed a great way to reset! Taking a break from stimuli allows your brain to recharge. Hope you enjoyed the video! 😊
Might as well say no oxygen
Detox challenges extremes. Oxygen is vital, but this fast aims to reset habits. Adjusting to minimal stimuli boosts focus & mindfulness. Try for balance!
Why not books
Thanks for your question! Excluding books is about minimizing distractions. Reading can be stimulating, so it's omitted to help focus during a dopamine fast. 📚🧘♂️
lmao wtf that's tooo much
Everyone's journey is different! It might seem intense, but it's about resetting focus & habits. Start small & adapt as needed. 😊
So how did you post this video 💀
I made this video before starting the dopamine fast and scheduled it to be posted later.

The dopamine fast lasts only 24 hours, not eternal. It's a brief reset to help regain focus and reduce distractions.

No oxygen*
Breathing is essential for life, so oxygen is a must! The dopamine fast excludes distractions, not necessities. 😄
No emptying of your bowels.. no urinating.
Indeed, focusing on mental detox rather than physical was the goal here. It's all about rewiring the mind for a reset! 😌🧠
The death of the person
I appreciate your concern, but a dopamine fast is about resetting and self-reflection. It's not harmful when done mindfully and in moderation.
Can we goto loo
Of course, you can use the loo during a dopamine detox. The focus is on reducing pleasure triggers, not basic bodily needs. Stay hydrated!
