honestly, listening to a bunch of the Drumeo videos, I feel like almost any non-metal song could benefit from being played by a metal drummer.

Dirks' version could definitely be used. If he sped up the tempo a bit and perfected, the ending, it would have been really good.

Gotta disagree o. The speeding the tempo. Doing that would match the original, kklling the more morose tone Dirks playing gives the song. I think it matches the song better.

I kinda like some of the half time stuff he did. It could be a cool alternate version if he cleaned it up for sure. But yea, lots of different ways to make this song sound good

The reason I can believe some of these musicians and not heard up 40 music is because I discovered Falling Reverse only six months ago. I was in my hip-hop phase and they were coming up and I totally missed out on them. So it is possible.

5:00 True. A break is induced by the voice eq. But it's so easy to fix in edit that, in doubt, a seasoned session musician might play it anyway, just in case.
I’m actually pretty surprised that he didn’t pick up on the fact that the whole song was meant to be full time after realizing the chorus was full time. Especially with the 16th notes on the guitar keeping the pace during the verses. Interesting take though, props to him for putting himself out there!
i think you are able to hear he is a metal drummer but it still sounds great ^^
btw. i love the fact he still uses two bass drums for double bass action ^^

I've never liked this song, but this makes me love it. Such a fantastic groove.
He looks like such a geek. I say this affectionately: geeks take what they do seriously a enjoy doing it at a level that "outsiders" often don't get.
His drumming is really "melodic" (for lack of a better word) relative to the original track. Both work, but they are emotionally different.

I think i like Dirk´s version more, although he halftimed the verse, the chorus and the ending part, specially with the double kick, was for me way better than the original,

Have I seen them live was the question. Many times. Megadeth has always had top notch musicians. Drummers in the band have come and gone. Two stand out to me: Nick and Dirk.

Dirk is so chill such an amazing drummer and cool guy. Matched up with James Lomenzo in Megadeth is perfect both guys are so incredibly chill, professional and good people. Dave is lucky to have them. I love Dirks version a lot

Definitely cool to see his take. Pretty far from the original to be honest, there was only like a few bars where he took the same path as the actual song during the chorus where he kept it simple
Hell of a kit he has. I suppose as he plays a lot of 80's/90's metal, he needs the full 80's beast, one of everything in the catalogue. And a few twos!

I've been a Megadeth fan since the So Far, So Good, So What album. I just saw them play the Aftershock festival and band sounds real good, though it looked like someone left Dave in the sun too long.

I’m not a musician, but I wonder if the original drummer would get a kick out of the fresh interpretation. Like I wonder if he would implement some of the things he heard on this in his live shows to mix it up for fun.
I love his version. This is what I want from these experiments. I don’t want the drummer from another band to just play the song, let hear your version not theirs.

Ronnie is a super tight clean drummer, hard to compare. The original is better for sure but it's clear this guy's is a pro and knows more than I'll ever know

My only complaint about this original video is that they say "Megadeth drummer". Like, he'd been drumming for Megadeth for like a year...at best...he's been in so many other great bands.

I can't name any Dua Lipa song, maybe a I heard something from her but I'm not sure, but to be honest I don't usually hang out very much and I only listen to music I like and with headphones so I'm not very exposed to mainstream music as Dua Lipa or Blackpink for example, I heard those names and I know they're very famous of course but I don't listen their music so you can name any of their songs and I probably will be very lost to name it 😂
BTS, Blackpink, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello or any regueton "artist" are just names to me, they're famous so I hear the names a lot but that's just it, names, I'm not familiar with their music, probably I heard some of their music by chance but I'm more inclined to say that's not the case 😂
