adris432 it like the layers of a cake. In one layer it can be the outline and the second layer can be the colors and third can be something else and so on and so forth. Say you are coloring your drawing and it’s going really good but u make a few mistakes and ur on the coloring layer, you can erase the mistake u made on coloring without disturbing anything else in the drawing
@@adris432 so basically, when you draw/paint digitally it is better to use multiple layers for different details. For example, you could do a messy sketch on one layer and then the refined lineart on the other, so that when you're done, it's easy to remove the messy sketch (just by deleting that layer). But layers are used for other details too (like, you could do the sky on one, then earth/ grass on other, trees on the third, small details on another and etc.) So when you draw on the wrong layer you would have hard time fixing a mistake if you make one.
Why does this happen to me every time, I like the fanart, then forget it exists, then discover the THING and love it. Now I’m obsessed with HOLLOW KNIGHT.

haha ikr. these are struggles of being an artist that has only drawn one animal (wolves) for basically their entire life: when i draw a cat, it looks like a wolf. and i want to draw WC but i... i just can't i can't draw humans also some other struggles for me: i don't know which method to use for colouring my base layer isn't always accurate and then i have to draw something completely different because it looks out of shape otherwise

silver I’m even scared to draw two characters kissing and I have a friend who easily draws two characters while kissing or almost kissing. And even drawing two characters kissing helps with anatomy.
If NSFW makes you uncomfortable I'd actually suggest looking up dance poses or life drawing accounts such as SenshiStock. Dance videos are great resources because they introduce you to fluidity and how the muscles move in weird ways. But regardless of HOW you choose to learn anatomy I wish you the best of luck!

I don't know if anyone else gets annoyed by this, but here we go: *"Wow! You have a God-given gift! I can barely even draw a stick figure!"* The whole "God-given gift" thing annoys me because they basically make it seem like I came out of my mother's womb with a pencil, paper, and natural knowledge on how to draw/create. I know it's meant to be a compliment, but it implies that I put no effort into getting to the level of detail I have in my work today. It took years of dedication, mistakes, and TONS of self criticism! Saying this to me basically ignores all of the long hours of frustration I went through trying to make things look decent enough for it to even be seen by other people! Not to mention the stiffness and cramping that happened to my hands and wrists when I just couldn't leave something alone because it wasn't good enough. This is *not* a gift, something I can naturally do because it was "given" to me. This is a *skill* that I've heavily improved upon since I was a little kid. End of story. Also, the people who say they can barely even draw stick figures? Where do you think I started?! The first thing I remember drawing is a stick figure family portrait as a 5 year old! This goes right back to the hard work and dedication point! I've heard this line so many times it's grating on my nerves, I might scream. EVERYONE SAYS IT! *EVERYONE!*

@@adris432 so basically, when you draw/paint digitally it is better to use multiple layers for different details. For example, you could do a messy sketch on one layer and then the refined lineart on the other, so that when you're done, it's easy to remove the messy sketch (just by deleting that layer). But layers are used for other details too (like, you could do the sky on one, then earth/ grass on other, trees on the third, small details on another and etc.)
So when you draw on the wrong layer you would have hard time fixing a mistake if you make one.

If NSFW makes you uncomfortable I'd actually suggest looking up dance poses or life drawing accounts such as SenshiStock. Dance videos are great resources because they introduce you to fluidity and how the muscles move in weird ways.

When you're drawing in school and then a random kid in your class comes up to you and is like, "OMIGOD WHAT ARE YOU DRAWING CAN I SEE? CAN YOU DRAW MEEEEEE" And then at that point I die a little inside

for me its the opposite, bruh the only guys I can draw are bts...... and by that I mean jimin and sometimes tae and jk.... Once I tried drawing yoongi and jin, lets just say I have never tired again.
Same with me but the opposite of it, whenever I tried to draw males they always looks feminine

I don't know if anyone else gets annoyed by this, but here we go:

The whole "God-given gift" thing annoys me because they basically make it seem like I came out of my mother's womb with a pencil, paper, and natural knowledge on how to draw/create. I know it's meant to be a compliment, but it implies that I put no effort into getting to the level of detail I have in my work today. It took years of dedication, mistakes, and TONS of self criticism! Saying this to me basically ignores all of the long hours of frustration I went through trying to make things look decent enough for it to even be seen by other people! Not to mention the stiffness and cramping that happened to my hands and wrists when I just couldn't leave something alone because it wasn't good enough. This is *not* a gift, something I can naturally do because it was "given" to me. This is a *skill* that I've heavily improved upon since I was a little kid. End of story.
Also, the people who say they can barely even draw stick figures? Where do you think I started?! The first thing I remember drawing is a stick figure family portrait as a 5 year old! This goes right back to the hard work and dedication point! I've heard this line so many times it's grating on my nerves, I might scream. EVERYONE SAYS IT!

Yessss omg i hate when i get that as well, its even worse tho when someone says you get it from a relative like “oh you get your art from your great grandmother” like no i spent literally years honing my skills and thousands of failed attempts i dont just magically get art ability from someone im distantly related to.
