  • Both Cura and Orca are slicer software used to generate G-code for 3D printing. When it comes to choosing between the two for your Ender 3 V2, it largely depends on personal preference and the specific results you're aiming for.
Cura is widely used and has a large user community, offering a user-friendly interface and a plethora of pre-configured settings profiles for different printers.
Orca, on the other hand, might have a more focused feature set with certain optimizations.
For the default settings, both Cura and Orca may have presets for the Ender 3 V2. However, these settings can change based on the version of the software you are using. It's recommended to start with the default settings for your printer model and then fine-tune them based on the material you're using, the quality you desire, and any specific requirements for your prints.
Remember that 3D printing settings can be quite specific and can involve trial and error. It's a good idea to print calibration prints and make gradual adjustments to settings like layer height, print speed, temperature, and infill density to achieve the desired results.

nice video, i kinda realized this myself lol. theres many things i dislike about Orca that are on by default that make my prints really bad compared to Cura, I really want to like Orca, but its currently a pain in the ass lol

      Right 👍🏻 😂
The good thing about orca is calibration tests (i haven't done yet😅) and tree supports, but now its available on Cura also with latest update.

@@3Delite028 tree supports have been with cura for a long while, they just changed them somehow now in 5.4.
But yes the built in calibrations are great on Orca! Unfortunately the results only apply if you use Orca. Ill have to slice calibrations in Cura if i want to use Cura lol.
For example of i run a flow test in Orca and get my flow perfect at 90% , the test will be perfect at 94% in Cura using the same known settings.
