    That's pretty fast. I don't know what the others are complaining for. You weren't really close to the other skiers. You steered around them. I didn't really see close calls. It was pretty controlled actually.

    This has got to be one of my favourite videos on TH-cam, I've watched it probably 20 times over the last few months. - Very relaxing. I've skied Peak to Creek many times before, but wish I could have the bravery you have skipro77. No idea how you can go straight down that (for me) steep slope a few hundred metres down from the top of the Peak Chair!
    Skiing fast down a smooth slope isn't a big deal for me, but skiing fast over the bumps and moguls that develop over the day is something entirely different. You must have thighs of hard rubber!
    Wish I could have been a spectator there to see you fly past skipro. There's an annual amateur race in Bormio, Italy you may like, which is also called the Peak to Creek. Check it out.
    Well done skipro, a great video! I'd like to see your fastest time down there, maybe when the slopes are completely clear, early in the morning.

      Hey man thanks a lot I really appreciate it!
      Yeah I'll search that up and check it out for sure! Yeah I'm wanting to video it again at some point this season early in the morning when its well groomed to see how much I can improve my time haha. Also be sure to check out my other videos.

    Nice video! However, your stats seem to be a little hard to believe. I only say this because I had an average speed of 92 km/h with a top speed of 130.2 km/h on a 3.2 km run at Snowbasin, Utah using world cup 218 cm downhill racing skis and in a long sleeve cycling racing jersey and long cycling racing pants for aerodynamics. Based on your stats, your speeds are are almost essentially the same on a much more bumpy run, more people to avoid, flapping ski clothes that create more wind drag, and on skis that don't exactly look like they are alpine racing skis. If I were to have stats like you claim in your video on your equipment used, I'd be filling out my entry form to race at Kitzbuhel and Wengen, no joke!

    not bad but where did you come up with those stats since I did the same line as you with the whistler app on a new phone so it should be very accurate and it came out to length 5.8km, the advertised length is higher if u do every turn to the fullest. I also did slightly more turns and started from the top of the chair so I'm guessing you did about 5.5km with an average speed of at least 15km/h slower but still not bad as I did it in a couple minutes more than you with giant slalom turns and people on here don't realize it's a lot harder than it looks even though I'm in good shape and an expert skier it still burns the legs to do it that fast without stopping. And top speed of 128km/h maybe with an older phone and gps error but honestly the max sustained speed or top speed of using the whistler app in that video would of just been over 100km/h. the top speed on the ski pursuit app is usually bs but sustained top speed more accurate. maybe post a screen shot of your ski app and I'll believe it if those original stats are true unless you had a crazy wax and downhill race skis with weights strapped to you. some of these comments remind me of the crazy people out there, I did 94km/h sustained speed on the dave murray freshely groomed with a puffy jacket that slowed me down (so guess you did near 100 max but thought u would be flying off those rollers more since any speed after around 90 km/h does that) and some guy on the gondola ride up went ballistic on me, he probably sucks at skiing too and I almost fought him but tried to remain cool since it was a such a nice weather day and wanted to enjoy lol I think only going fast on a green run is bad but any blue or black is fair game in my opinion if you are careful

    • @owenmatejka9725
      @owenmatejka9725 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin S I think your phone measured wrong because it is 12km or 11km without turning. Whistler is much taller than 5km ;)

    • @donnelly5757
      @donnelly5757 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm looking at his stats too, and I find it hard to believe that someone who is not in racing gear on a non-ice injected course can manage an average speed of over 90 km/h for over 5 minutes through bumps and crowds. Honestly, this makes me really want to head up to Whistler and do this exact line on my 218 cm racing skis and see what my time is. My fastest sustain speed using my 218 cm skis and in aerodynamic clothing was 92 km/h and a top speed of 130.2 km/h measured with a Garmin 910xt watch down at Snowbasin, Utah. This is an impressive video, but the stats seem a little hard to believe. As an individual who hopes to one day be the oldest competitor in world cup downhill ski racing, if I had stats like this guy did on this run, I'd be more than confident in racing at Kitzbuhel!

      Allan Meadows, I bet this dude is an Aussie. If you want members for your P2C race team, then just ask any Aussie in town (or at least Creekside), they all claim they can P2C in under five, and most of them do it on boards ;)
      Seriously (well I was serious about those inflated Aussie claims) though, take nothing away from Axel (American name), this looks genuine. Nx time I'm up there, I'll have to time myself (boarding), see if I can claim "honourary Aussie" :0

  • @benhahn7105
    @benhahn7105 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This whole 'time trial' thing seems immature to me. It's like you're that kid who just learned how to ski and bombs the hill cause he doesn't actually know how to turn correctly. If you're an experienced skier go challenge yourself on harder runs, don't just see how fast you can go down the easier ones while endangering other skiers. And don't act like you're under control. If a new skier cut across the trail right in front of you there's no way you're getting out of the way in time and with how fast you're going it wouldn't be a pretty crash. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't happen. In that situation you would be 100% at fault.
