I put my empty 36 gal tank on the tailgate and strap it in place. Then I use my macerater pump to fill it. I bought the 36 gal because my three waste tanks are all 30 gal. Now I can dump my black tank with no worries about an overflow. I am a solo traveler so EZ=happy!
Answered my question right off the bat. I was trying to find out if I should connect to truck before or after filling. Great easy to understand video. I had a heck of time figuring out the hitch handle. Finally like doing a brain puzzle I got it !!!
We keep our rv in another place. It's where the antiques show is in and the way you get your black and grey water emptied is with what we call the poopy trucks. They come and suck out your tanks when needed. They quit running the last Sunday of the show and it took us 4 days to get packed up. We weren't there the full day so we didn't need the restroom that much. I was looking for a tank just like this when I saw your video pop up. Thank you for your knowledge and sharing it with us. I like how you explained about getting all the extra doo dads that help you empty your tanks and how to attach that wire piece to haul the tank to the waste dump.
Hi guys, really enjoy all your videos. You mentioned in this one that you often use a macerator, I’m assuming to pump the black water tank up into your portatote that you placed, empty into your truck bed for hauling to dump stations that are too far away to simply hook the full tote to your hitch? Do you have a video showing how you do this? Thanks for your great work!
Just bought a 28 and will be using it for the first time in a couple weeks. Bought the float indicator gauge too. Question is do you have to remove the gauge to rinse the tank? If so that would be messy? Or just not use the rinse port?
@@liketheresnotomorrowoh , I see! We are thinking about letting our son live for a few months in our backyard, just not sure what to do about the waste, any ideas would be appreciated
Maybe buy a box of the xxl disposable black gloves from harbor freight to wear OVER your gloves, you can wash them on your hands a few times and reuse, but saves your other gloves from germs. Like washing them b4 hopping in your truck, idk, Germaphobe here.
Good video, but it makes no sense to hitch to your truck before filling it. Huge lose of capacity. Not the heavy to lift the end when full. I have a 36 gallon also.
Having a class A, I can unhook from electric and or water, bring in the slide, and drive to dump station. No place to put that tank, and not worth the cost, and no way to pull it.
Yea, a little more challenging for class A. Do you have a ladder? I’ve seen folks strap it to that. It’s always an option to just put everything up and in and drive to a dump station. When we boondocking we are sometimes quite a ways away but ya do what you gotta do. lol 👍
You are awfully lucky you can drive your truck almost to your valve. Most places you would have to hookup 2-3 hoses to reach where you can actually park your truck. 😊

Excellent setup. It certainly is easy once you have a system. Good for you.

I know what you mean - I had the same problem, took me a few tries to get it! Glad we could help,

Ah yes. We’ve heard those trucks called “honeywagons”. Glad you found the video helpful. 👍
I was concerned about how to get it to the dump station, being a woman I am strong but water is heavy!! Thanks you answered my question
Good tips! Ours came with a handle that is attached.
That would be convenient. We’ve lost that handle in the bay before.
Thank you for sharing ❤
Of course. Glad it was helpful

We will put that video on the list. We are boondocking now, so it’s a perfect time.

We leave ours on all the time.
on my 36g rhino the rinse port is adjacent to the float gauge port
I lifted one all by myself completely full
💪🫵
Can you tote this little trailer on the road? we live about 4 miles to the nearest dump station
Yea, 4 miles would probably be pushing it. When we don’t have a dump in the campground or very close by, we put it in the truck bed and use a pump.

Using the pump into the tire in the bed of a truck is probably your best bet. Or paying someone to come pump it out but that’s kind of pricy.
@@liketheresnotomorrow thanks for the suggestion

Great advice

I guess it depends on your strength, you are correct, Barry could obviously lift it, not sure everyone could. Thanks for pointing that out.

lol yea, we’ve had to do the multiple hoses before. Not super fun. Luckily doesn’t happen much.
I personally would use the second connection he used to empty... it would then draw the water more thoroughly...

Invaluable video, thank you. And...now I need a fill guage. 🫡
I know! It’s essential. We are actually testing out a larger, collapsible black tank. We shall see.
