Welcome to our channel! In 2022, we made a bold choice: to break free from the ordinary and embrace a life of adventure while still keeping our digital careers alive. Retirement? Who needs it when you can live your dreams right now? Within a whirlwind 10 months, we sold off everything we owned, bought our first RV, and set off on an epic journey with our trusty rescue dog, Hugo, by our side.
This journey has taught us more than we could have ever imagined. We've had our fair share of highs and lows. We've ventured to incredible places we'd only dreamed of, but above all, we've crafted a life that adheres to our terms, and it's nothing short of amazing.
We invite you to join us on this adventure. Expect loads of fun, laughter, perhaps a tear or two, and the occasional slip of a curse word (because, well, life happens). Most importantly, anticipate an unfiltered glimpse of RV life and the pursuit of a life filled with travel and adventure.

We love our RV lock. We got one on our 1st camper & have one on our current camper. It's convenient to never have to have keys. Also, when we leave our rig, we put 1 of our outdoor cameras (bought a 2 pack) inside pointed where we can see the inside temp & the camper. Makes us feel safe leaving him. Sounds similar to waggle but we already have camera so we'll probably stick with that. I love the treat box part. That's pretty neat & nifty. Maverick has always been treat oriented. The voice thing is a neat idea. We turn our channel on for Maverick when we leave so he can hear us the whole time. I've always wondered if that was weird 😂
If I had paid for 5 weeks in a hellish spot , knowing I had a free peaceful site 3 hours away, I would pick up and leave. Afterall, either way, you’ve spent the money. Why be miserable just because you paid for it?
It was because I was hurt and needed specific medical care. Believe me, as soon as I was cleared we were boondocking in the mountains… and it was glorious. We stayed there for over a month. Loved every minute. The best recovery anyone could ask for after a head injury
Very good.
Glad you liked it!
Excellent. Me and my wife watch your channel religiously. In April we are going full-time and before we took delivery of our toy hauler, we had solar and lithium batteries. Thanks for your help. Keep doing them.
That’s awesome and thank you for supporting our channel. We appreciate YOU!
Do you put paper into your black tank? Does the macerator take care of the paper as well? What about flushable wipes? tried to look through the comments but couldn't see this addressed.
Never use flushable wipes in your tank. It’s will completely screw your system up. If you have a good tank treatment you can probably use tp. We do not flush it when we boondock to save tank space and help us last long. You should not go crazy on the tp, use only what you really need. We just got in the habit of not flushing it, so we just stick with that.
Have you thought of or tried TRX?
Not familiar with that. What is it?
Oh you mean the workout. Yes, I’ve done that before. Great workout.
Timbrens on last truck (GMC), bags on this one (SD). No comparison bags for the win. When towing, Timbrens are too HARSH when the road gets rough. Unloaded you dont notice them. My last 5th wheel had frame/pinbox damage that I feel was the direct result of the Timbrens. Took some pretty hard hits in that truck.
Interesting! We’ve heard others say that but have not experienced it. Glad you found the solution that works for you.
2 more years and my wife and I will be first time and first time ever living RV living.
That’s how we did it too! No rv experience. If we can do it… anyone can! lol If you want some insider insights and a step by step on going fulltime, we do have an online course. We are continuing our launch discount through Jan if you’re interested. We would love to have you join the group. liketheresnotomorrow.net/full-time-rv-living-course/
Excellent video
Thanks, we're glad you enjoyed it.
My wife and I purchased a lot in fl. Our daughter lives in Tenn, we are thinking about a lot there, so we can stay in 2 different states. The lots are investments. Just a thought for others.
Yes. We have actually considered that for when we want to slow down a bit more. We are actually looking into a property that we could put an Rv pad and hookups and build in eventually. Renting it out when we travel.
Sorry bondocking for me is not trying to run ac and all electrical crap like you live in your home. Why bondock if you are inside an ac box... Used to be when you camped you had to rough it a little. Thats why city slickers dont camp! Well unless you are "homeless " in CA. I guess I can say that my 20 years in the Army as an Infantryman, I boondocked alot, Panama jungles, Ft Campbell, Ky, West Berlin Germany, West Germany, Italy, Korea, Alaska...😊 As a kid we boondocked with a tent all over Idaho and Wyoming and we thoughtvwe were camping. Thanks for the information.
Power fill then turn on the rv water pump and it sucks the water out of my water bladder, no extra water pump. Our old rv we filled with an extra pump.
You are correct. For us, our Rv pump just takes too long for this size bladder.
Me and my wife work in Sioux Falls we live south of there our favorite camp ground is the big Sioux rec area in brandon. We go to the black hills a lot to camp. Have never tried boon docking. Would like to but don’t have any solar or a generator. So we don’t go.
So I just started following your channel and saw this episode. So glad that this was not as serious as it could have been. Hope all is going well.
It’s been over 6 months and I’m doing better. Still struggle some days with head pain (left over from the concussion) but overall I’m very fortunate. Thx
I just got my items here and I’m ready to assemble but like so many, how do you vent it when filling? Thank you so much for your video.
Just slight open the top valve. So fill, take to dump, dump from bottom valve, slightly open the top valve to vent. It’s worked great for us.
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! If you haven’t seen our new video for 2024 be sure to check it out. Big difference. th-cam.com/video/nZW8mU9i1-c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sewVkumMygkyNKC2
South Dakota is definitely on our list for this year...just trying to decide best time. What time of year were you here and what were the temps like?
We were there in June. Early June in Sergio’s the weather was great… by the time we got to Badlands at the end of the month it was really hot most days but there was a couple of days the temps dropped. You might Google average temps by month in the areas that you are wanting to visit
@liketheresnotomorrow thank you! From what I've read so far, it looks like typically late May- mid June is most favorable temps wise and based on your experience seems to agree. Thanks for your videos- we sure enjoy them!
@@patriciabaker9 Sure thing. Enjoy your trip. We might be heading back there this summer to move our domicile... still deciding on that.
I hope your water and waste bladders are not the same color lol!
lol they are but we mark them and keep them totally separate in different containers. I think we might be smart enough not to mix them up. lol
I had put these on my truck first. Every bump I hit, you would feel the hit in the tires then in the frame as the Timbrens would make contact. This is not different than hitting my original bump stop except the Timbrens hit much sooner, and would hit every time due to being larger than the original bump stop. I prefer airbags by far.
We’ve heard others say this but we didn’t experience it. I’m not sure why some do and others don’t. Airbags are nice to have though.
I think this gives people a “budget sheet” to use. Helps them understand what they need to track. Everyone spends differently.
Indeed. You really don’t know until you track it.
I should be doing this. See you at the tampa show.
Yay! Let’s talk at the show!
Traveling in an RV is expensive, being stationary is very cost saving. Example: 400$ RV payment, 620$ RV park payment, 100$ RV insurance, 50$ Propane, 60$ Electricity, 35$ mobile internet, the rest is your own expenses like Auto insurance, food, Entertaiment, its basically 35% less than living in an apartment and renting..
It’s definitely good to break down the expenses to see how it all shakes out. If you want a stationary lifestyle is a great savings over traditional renting.
Great videos guys thanks for taking the time to make it
You're most welcome. Glad you found it helpful!
That unit is so sweet. Congrats Tom!
Good job, Tom! 👏🏻 Looks like a great gift!
We use the same water bag but fill from the bottom and just vent the top since you're filling from a pressurized source. Then you only need one valve added. I don't hang it over the tailgate either as the bag is flexible and I can roll up the bag to get most all the water out.
Cool. So you’re using the same 85 gallon tote? ours came with the top valve. Did you cap yours and install the valve on bottom? Does your top capped cover have a way to vent? Just unscrew it I’m guessing. How do you unhook the water hose if you have it flush under the bag when it’s totally full? Our bag is dang heavy when it’s full. Lol
Get a milwaukee transfer pump. We use the aquatank2 and have loved it! The only way to fill up when going for a long haul.
🎉
Congratulations 🍾 Tom.
Congratulations Tom!!!!
If you could put a link to that product in your description below, that would be great, thanks!
sorry about that. I added the longer review video and forgot the product links. It's added now. Thank you.
Am I wrong but didn’t you do this same topic/product before?
We did the black tank setup… this is water
@ thanks for the reply
Love how you feel a show your compassion and realism
We try and keep it real. It’s not always easy to do. lol
Game changer. Game changer.
Goood video guys!!! We have the 60 gallon water bladder, wish I woulda known about the cheeeper one!!! Looks like it’s a more robust one than the 60 gallon one. We have been full timing about the same time as you guys and boondock/drycamp a lot. What we did to simplify the process is rigged up a female Anderson connector pigtail from our battery bank that is about 15 ft long. I then rigged up a male Anderson connector to my portable 12 volt portable water pump, the macerator pump, and my Vair air compressor so I just plug and play for each task. The 12 volt water pump I purchased is a Kick Ass water pump I purchased and it comes in a handsome heavy duty carrying case and has quick connects already installed with an on/off switch. It definitely “kicks ass” and makes life ezzee peezee!!! Next upgrade is to ditch the tote for a waste bladder like you guys did…very smart compact idea!!! 👍😃🍻
We are glad you found this setup helpful! We need to get on that switch to make it easier. lol
First time viewer/commenter. Very impressed with the channel and am new Subbie! Great content, guys. Hope all's well with you both; look forward to future views. Y'all Be Safe!
We are glad you are enjoying the channel, thanks for subscribing!
We use IVY Brand bladders and have two Seaflo 12v pumps on the Brinkley via ClearSource Ultra plus a USA Adventure 3 Stage Pre Filter. Plus a 12v transfer pump as needed. Been Boondocking and doing bladders for many years for fresh. Do not use them for waste disposal. I believe I posted my couple of horror stories about black waste bladder explosions we have seen on another video of yours. Fresh Bladders, It’s a standard deal for us. Try mounting your pump in the bay We also have a backup manual screw gun pump that is super portable when needed. We got away from huge bladders and stick to manageable 25gal. We almost exclusively dry camp and can’t stay most locations longer than 14 days regardless and then it is dump laundry reload time for most Humans.
Awesome water bladder, did ya'll have the drawing for the tpms unit from last months contest? Thanks
Yes it’s in the email from yesterday. I’ll post a video today. Tom from Alabama won! We are already working on the next drawing. Stay tuned!
Could you fill the bladder using the "bottom" PVC connection as well? Wondering if the top connection is really necessary.
Game changer
You could do that. You’d have to cap off the top one that comes with it. Only issue is that you can’t vent it when you do that and you’ll really want to be able to vent it. Maybe there’s a cap with a vent feature?
Thank you. Well presented and thought out video. Or maybe it was all done in post. ha ha. Whatever, this is a great instructional video.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching
I have both of the tanks you do. The problem is your first one is FOOD grade and the new one isn't. I drink from my water suppy so I want to use a food grade bladder to get new water. I switched to the velor to do dumping but am not willing to use it for drinking water. If you look at the post is clearly avoids saying it is food grade. I do notice that your water goes through a number of filters and I do that also even though I have a food grade bladder. I would not recommend anyone filling their rv with a non food grade bladder and not using filters to run it though.
You bring up a valid point. Some PVC water bladders are certified for potable water storage, while others are not. The one I purchased said it was safe for potable water transport but not for long term potable water storage. Maybe that's why it costs more, or it could just be marketing hype. I don't know. I don't recommend drinking water from any PVC or PET container, such as a water bottle that has been stored in the sun. I always cringe when I see supermarkets or convenience stores with pallets of bottled water left outside the store in the sun. But if you are just filling your bladder with cool water, transporting it and emptying it within an hour or so there is not enough time for a significant amount of chemicals in the plastic to leach into the water. I transport mine in the trunk of my car to avoid direct sun exposure. I certainly wouldn't let a full bladder sit out in the sun for a few days in the back of a pick-up before I emptied it into my fresh tank. I filter mine too, before it enters my motorhome's tank, just for good measure.
Lol well I am definitely glad that I asked you about the water bladder. It’s something that I’ve been thinking about ever since I first saw y’all using the waist bladder. I think it is an excellent idea and thank you Barry for the walk-through. Hope you guys are doing well. Staying warm And being safe. Always fantastic to watch y’all videos. You guys are a hoot. Pete
Glad you’re enjoying the videos, Pete. We try to keep it interesting and informative.
Great video!!! And we got us a free concert too!!! Nice!!!
I’ll try and post the full version of the song by itself soon.. if TH-cam lets me. lol
@ awesome! Orrr… you can bring your guitar to the Tampa show and sing it live. 😆 Get there safe and hope to catch you all the day we are there.
Good video. Once again I learned something new that I will be able to use. Thank you very much
We’re glad it was helpful!
I just got done draining my setup of the same situation but smaller bladder. About 50 gallons took about 20 to drain and that was with me pushing on it to try to make it go more quickly. That was with a 3/4 garden hose. Did switching to the slinky adapter speed up the process for you? Have you run into any problems? For what it's worth, at least with the amount that I'm putting in, it goes in the drain just fine. It doesn't seem to put any extra pressure on the pump that I can tell. So, it's just one hose, the same for filling and draining. I've got a couple water pumps laying around and thought about hooking one up to speed up the process but didn't want to waste it if it won't make a worthwhile difference. But if the silky adapter makes a difference, that might be worth doing. Thanks for the video. If it weren't for one with another guy doing the exact same thing, I don't know if I would've had the nerve to do it. And I wanted to know if it could take the back pressure of going in the drain and that's how he did it. Anyway, it's good to see someone else doing it. Makes me feel a little less crazy. Thank you.
Definitely switch to the regular 3” RV adapter. It will drain 100+ gallons in less than 5 min. You also need to vent the top. We’ll make another video soon as we’ve been getting similar questions
By far the best solution for boondocking... Dont forget you can get a bladder for the black/gray tanks also... just need a mascerator pump!
Indeed. We have a video on that too. th-cam.com/video/__JD7u2viXI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OcsHaX_kazR8Os_3
