Thanks. Helpful but I have a couple of suggestions: Wear rubber or latex gloves. Check how full the portable tank gets (shut the trailer valve & look through the clear elbow), disconnect from the trailer 1st to drain the water in the hose into the tank.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't wear the gloves on purpose. I once had an accident with a hose...while wearing gloves. Basically a hose busted and got all over my gloved hands. Guess what, I had sewage in between my glove and my hand... Grossed me out bad. That was the last time I did the doo with gloves. I use sanitizing hand wipes and hand sanitizer and wash my hands well after I'm done.
Great video, extremely helpful. I thought I’d practice with grey water first, sure enough I over filled it and thought this would’ve been awful if I had started with the black tank. Thank you!
You are welcome! It’s one of those things that are simple…yet takes practice to get the feel for it. Glad I was able to help some. Take care friend, have a great day.
Seriously Thank you ! Thinking about what size to get . Your video made some good points. Now I feel way more comfortable after I purchase this. Still on the fence which size 28/36 🧐
@@chuckpoz1968 my pleasure! I’ve done pretty well with the 21 gallon version. I just watch it and don’t over fill it. Remember that a gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs. depending on your strength level 60-80 lbs can make a big difference. Think about your weaker partners that the job may fall to if you get hurt. I know that sounds crazy but I had to help a lady with her 48 gallon tote. Her husband had recently been injured and couldn’t lift it. In a pinch, my wife (or a young teen for example) could handle the 21 gallon tank with relative ease. Just a few more thoughts.
Thanks for the good to the point video ( no annoying music, or video of places you’ve been, etc. )! I just ordered the 15 gallon size 22% off on Amazon. After reading the comments… I’m surprised nobody suggested you wear a respirator and HAZMAT SUIT! 😂🤣😂💥 P.S. gloves ARE a dangerous biohazard filled with cooties 🤣
Thank you for the compliment! I hope it serves you well! I agree about the gloves. To me, getting stuck stuck inside the glove is the problem. Washing hands is easy. I once saw a man literally put on gloved sleeves to dump his tanks. I’m like…if it’s that bad of a biohazard, you may want to get yourself checked out at the hospital 😅
Thanks for the video. I didn't realize the campground I booked up the upcoming solar eclipse (April 2024) doesn't have sewer hookups. While we will be next to the bath house it would be nice to have something like this to deal with kitchen sink water.
I would suggest dumping black water tank first Then grey water tank Grey water then partially rinses your tank and after done dumping, use the water rinse to finish cleaning your rhino tank
I tried to figure out how the tow hook goes on my "turdle" for most of fifteen minutes. I had to bring my boss lady in for further consultation and she couldn't figure it out either. I looked for your video here and scrubbed forward to where to attach the tank to your truck and give myself a concussion smackin myself in the forehead. Nice work, thanks. Back on the short bus, now...
Only problem with the Rhino is if your trailer drain is a low one and won't drain easily into your Rhino since it is above the trailer drain level. I've got around this by using a long hose that I can pick up and force it to drain into the Rhino. The other day I dug a hole so the Rhino was lower than the drain (since we were on sand)--just too much work!
@jeremsgarage I literally just took my Rhino out of the box, and I'm getting ready to use it for the first time. I've never drained an RV before, and I was really pleased to find your video on TH-cam. It's the only one I saw that covered the process start-to-finish.
On the elbow you attach to the camp ground dump hole, remove the orange contoured piece and it will thread into the hole, then attach the elbow back on. No need for rocks or risk it popping off and getting nastiness everywhere!
I want to make a simple outdoor bathroom with a tank that I can periodically take to a dump station. . Will this work somehow by connecting a regular toilet to it? Can it hold poop?
Yes it would work. But I would not connect a regular toilet to it. A regular toilet uses way too much water. I’ll be honest, a standard sized porta potty would be a much easier option.
No problem! That is really up to you! Getting a tank the same size as the tank in your trailer eliminates the possibility of overfilling. But if you have a 30-40 plus gallon tank it can make handling the Camco tank harder. Each gallon of water is about 8 lbs.
You can roll your camper on some level blocks if you just need an inch or two. Other than digging a little hole in the ground that’s the only easy option I see.
Mine didn’t come with directions.... everything really is self explanatory for an experienced RV'er... but i could not figure out the hitch... thx for making me feel like an idiot 😂😂😂😂
Yes you can! Some people use something called a macerator pump to pump it out. Here is another channels video to give you an idea of how it works. th-cam.com/video/Shd44r4732M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IGzSBcGK4qjw2SBZ

yes just purchased new unit and the accordion dump tube was torn I tried to call and email campco and no response. I'm not happy with their customer service. Someone packed damaged goods and sent it to a paying customer. I'm trying to figure out a way to make a repair
Yes! If needed! Typically for a weekend I don’t need to dump the black tank but when I pull out. If you are going to dump the black into the tote make sure to fill up the gray tank in the camper. Dump the black into the portable tank. Dump it…then dump the gray into the portable tank to rinse it out.
First, always wear protective gloves. Second, always get a extra tank that's at least as big as your rv tanks, so there's no chance of an accidental overflow/spill. Lastly, if that tank were full of black tank waste, it would weigh about 175 pounds. Those plastic wheels/axle wear out fast, and when they fail you have a mess. Since you have a pick up truck, it would have been better to carry the full tank in the bed of the truck, as opposed to pulling it over gravel terrain for any distance.
Meh, appreciate the comment but I just take extra trips. I’ve been RV’ing for over 12 years and have had my share of experiences. I am NOT lifting a full waste tank into the bed and the transfer tank is just nasty. Gloves kind hold stuff in so that’s experience for me. I just wash my hands, super easy, clean, and simple. If I wear it out I’ll just buy another one. (I’m on my third)
Hi! You can use both! I would do the black tank first, haul that off to the dump. Then do a second trip with gray water. This will keep your tank… cleanish.
Nasty without gloves, I know you're going to say it's a close system, and you don't get anything on you. Even if that was true it's still nasty as hell not to use gloves.
Okay! Thanks for watching. Gloves are nasty and gross. I just wash and sanitize after. Sweaty hands, leaky liquid. Gets in side. Not good. I even change oil with a bare hand. Lol. I guess I’m living on the edge.
What planet are you on that gravity doesn’t exist? You didn’t even drain the waste out your tote was higher that the rv outlet, you didn’t even empty the hose.

How fast can u tow with it?
Really pushing it at 15 MPH. I usually crawl at about 5 mph.
Where could I get one
Here is an Amazon affiliate link to one. amzn.to/45kfROw
I got to haul mine a good ways , what’s the fastest you can go while pulling it ?
I think it’s about 5 mph.
Directions says 5 mph
Any issuesing towing with the truck? It says not to tow with a truck but rather a golf cart or ATV
So make 2 trips (one for each tank…)

Would the the wastewater be able to travel up the hose and into the bed of the truck or would gravity stop that from working?
Now putting it into practice..yeehaw..first time doing this, totally a poop noob.
