Fold 3 user here. Agree, it's impossible to put this phone down, it's wonderful. Nice to see the improvements despite all of them being minor. I hope Android L comes to my phone.

How about sand/dust scratches in between the screens when closed?
@@G-Loco don't put it into sandy pocket and you will never have to ask this question again. I did it once accidentally, I wiped the sand from screen and the hinge self-cleaned after 2-3 folds.

@@Dragance1988 mostly TH-cam. Just like ipad mini. Pretty fine, but of course the screen is not wide enough.
Z fold 3 user here. I have loved my Z fold 3, and I feel it is perfect and never limited to anything I want to do! I have always known the bad parts of it, but it is this new 4 line up that is making me feel confident in recommending it to anyone! Truly impressed with the designers of this phone, and definitely will be recommending these phones to everyone confidently!

@@neontetra2780 Flip 3 had the okay camera for everyday use. I never had issues with it, though you can't expect S22 Ultra imagery from it of course.
The Z flip looks aestheticly more tempting but b/c of the screen real estate and s-pen support (even the big price gap in b/w them) would go with the fold! When Samsung manages to put the s-pen inside (which I believe it will not take more than 2 years from today), the name fold will change to note.. This will be the new note device.

I went from being a iPhone user to buying the fold 3....haven't looked back since, just so many features compared to my iPhone, and user friendly, the fact I can now go from a phone to a tablet, will definitely upgrade to the fold 4 no doubt....Leesshhggoooo.
I have been absolutely loving my Flip 3 for the last year, and if I can swing it I just might upgrade to the 4. It's more likely that I'll be waiting a year for the Flip 5 though.

They have absolute killer deals right now if you end up pre ordering the 4. And you'll save a huge amount if you trade in your flip 3. Samsung has one of the best trading programs in the smartphone industry. It has saved me alot of $$$.

The fact that Samsung has continued to enrich both of these ideals of a foldable phone with the Fold and Flip is very nice. I would love to get my hands on one of each some day.

If I had to pick one, I would definitely go for the Z Fold 4, I totally agree with what you said, I imagine playing video games with that full screen must be an ejoyable gaming experience, as well as watching movies or series, besides the S Pen and all the multitasking stuff that comes with it, the camera for what I can see on this video is phenomenal!
The gaming experience (Fold 3 owner) is incredible. I would even say you could use your phone to game instead of your xbox/PS/switch! The screen, especially in this new model, is so big and immersive, that you have no limitations because of a small screen. This phone also has options to play xbox or PS with their respective apps (monthly payment) on the go! So I loved to play minecraft dungeons in my off time at work. Just put in my earphones, open the game up (super fast with the processing power😍) and game for awhile.
Coooool I love having a dent on my displays. It makes for a better viewing experience. Especially when it literally costs the same price as 5 other premium phones. Definitely worth buying. Oh and the battery, beautiful, 3 full hours of hard extensive use.
Samsung has a killer trade in program going on right now. Just spent $0 on 3 new z flip 4's trading in my z flip 3's and using the Samsung points I got last year buying the Flip 3's to pay the difference. Feels like a cheat code.

The struggle I have gone through to try and buy the new flip 4 by trading in a z flip 3 has been TOO much for me. I know it's a cool phone but I've spend like 15-20 hours on calls with tech support and I am done so I just came to watch the phone from a distance. lol🤣🤣

Pre-ordered my flip4 since I've loved my zflip3.. But it is my second phone. I nerd my iphone as my first, always...💯 But that's just me. I do social media and record TH-cam videos. So that's why I have multiple phones.
The z flip 4 has such a small indent that when you brought up the fold indent, I forgot that my phone had one because I am watching as if I would with any other phone

I am using the note 9 still. First phone I have stayed with for so long. I think the flip 4 would be my choice, in blue of course. I take a lot of pictures. Though I'd miss the Spen. Mean looking Supra

I like it but I just can’t get past the crease going top to bottom of the entire main screen - other than that, it’s great!
Hopefully they can solve that in the next few gens and then I’d be more likely to purchase
Valid point with the main camera being able to be used for selfies. However, don't forget that the main camera on this phone is probably about the same as the front-facing camera on some phones lol
This is the first time I'm watching your channel and I have to say the Supra in the background is very distracting. Please place a Pinto next time so I can pay attention to your unboxing.
I'm not saying the hinge isn't better but I have owned every fold to this point and I will be getting the fourth. I have had replacements a couple of different times throughout all three phones and overtime the hinge is looser but you don't really notice it unless you get your hands on a newer one. So comparing a used three to a new four of course the four is going to feel much better at the hinge lol. I noticed how much tighter my replacement three was compared to the three I had for 6 months

fold 4 always you can also fold it like a laptop and have full Key board w bigger screen than flip, open as tablet or use outside like regular all w wider screen. no more squinting to read screens on small device for me

Nice review, I got mine a week ago and it is so goood! The screen protector cannot be removed so I put on the Gadgetshieldz protector and the touch works perfectly fine!😇

Something that I like about Samsung's approach to foldable devices is that they see and receive feedback from the community and improve the imperfections. It's good to see that there is a market for foldable devices out there. I've been using my Z fold 2 for 2 years now. And though it may not be the best phone spec wise, it definitely helps having the extra real estate to work and enjoy content on the phone.
And yet the outside screen is still way to thin. A lot of people have voiced displeasure with it
@@pmich those people are looking for a completely different size phone. Like that other foldable I saw with a shorter but wider screen. That's not the design Samsung is going for so tough luck. Fold 4 looks fine to me

I've had a fold 3 for a year now, and I've overall loved it
I've had mine for almost a year now as well. Love it, only issue was the screen protector lifted but no issues from Samsung to install a new one.
Same I absolutely loved it its been reliable good fast and I didnt expect it to be this durable.

I'm using one rn and with gamepass or netboom cloud gaming it runs smoothly it handles emulators like nothing and native Android games can be ran at max settings and the fold 4 won't skip a beat. This phone replaced my win600 that I upgraded to 32gb of ram and 1tb simply because it outperforms my win600 in every aspect, there's obviously things I can't do like run steam os (or I don't know how to or if possible) but I still haven't figured out everything on this phone either
I was already sold on the Flip 4 since the timing of my Note20 Ultra's payment plan is almost up, but I was really hoping for a sequel to the Buds Live to go along with it.
I got a Fold 4, new Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy watch 5 pro all for a little over $1100 from Samsung. Trading in my Note 20 Ultra 5G.

I'm totally getting the ZFold. I wasn't quite ready for a fold 2 years ago when last I upgraded because my financial situation wasn't the best and also was concerned about brand new technology but I really feel like they've made massive strides in the tech and I'm in a much better position financial. Haven't decided between the ZFold 3 or 4 yet but that's mostly gonna be a cost issue. If the 4 isn't too much more expensive than the 3 was last I checked probably going with the 4.
Honestly just go with the 4 or just save money and wait for the 5.

Be careful with the screen. The reliability is the worst. After few months, you will get some dead pixel around the fold area. The screen protector also bad. The stickness to the screen will be reduced time by time and then it will look nasty on the screen. I will never be getting this kind of phone again in my life. Basically a phone that wasting so much of my time.

I want to know if there are longevity issues with the inside folding screen at around the 6 to 7 month mark? I heard that the built-in screen protector starts to crack and Bubbles start to appear between it and the digitizer. especially in cold weather. have you experienced this?
@@blahshmiah My Fold 3 screen protector began to crack about 2 months ago. So it seems pretty on point from what you're saying. Doesn't bother me much though. I'll change it myself some time in the future. I've changed it for the Fold 2 before without a problem.

I really would love a fold but if it can't stand up to normal use for at least 2 years I'm not sure if I'm convinced to pick one up yet. I've been looking at ASUS ROG 6 but then I seen where they only have a 2 year update cycle then that's it.
I haven't noticed anything too big. It's not cracked or anything. There is some small bubbling of the screen protector right at the top hinge but nothing ro make me not use it.
@@blahshmiah I'm no technician. Just followed simple instructions from YT videos. As for durability, the phone itslef is pretty in my opinion. My old Fold 2 was handed down to my mother-in-law who doesn't take care of phones too well.
I've dropped my Fold 3 a few times without a case. Held really well up until the the drop. Slightly harder to open but still easy.

I got the z fold 3 when it released and it's been a amazing experience and amazing phone however I don't think the Z fold 4 is worth upgrading this year I'm sticking with the z fold 3 for another year and see with next year brings to the table

Samsung really are falling behind now with crease removal and folding flat.
Yup. Oppo and Huawei both did away with the crease thanks to the tear drop hinge which removes the crease and makes it fold flat. In the mean time samsung have done nothing, so you end up with a crease getting more noticable from the day you first start to use it (note it comes in the box open so the crease gets worse from day one), and also it doesn't fold flat so the hinge makes the device feel like you're holding an external battery pack in your hands.
Yet again, no upgrade path for me with Samsung from the fold 2.
They are tinkering with a hinge that is already too big and chunky from the first fold. Other manufacturers have dealt with both the crease and not making the device wedge shaped, even though those companies ALL BUY THE DISPLAYS FROM SAMSUNG!
They are not focussing on existing fold users at all anymore and so they just keep producing a slightly different iteration of the same basic design flaws that are getting no iteration at all
One you can't make the crease disappear cause it needs the hinge and the hinge is what gives it it's foldable capabilities. Two you can fold it flat cause of the hinge. Actually the hinge even does the screen a better job with the crease. Think of it as folding a paper, if you fold the paper and keep space in between the middle you can unfold it without getting that much of a crease but if it were to be folded without the space the crease would even be greater unless you make the screen into two halves but then that defeats the purpose of having a foldable that works as a normal phone.

@@walethegreat Yes it can be done. Oppo and Huawie have both achieved it by making a tear drop shaped hinge that allows the display to have a much greater angle to bend, whereas samsung don't and make the crease bend up so tight that the display stays in that shape permanently. No crease on the Oppo Find N or the Huawei mate X2, and they both fold up completely flat, not wedge shaped like Samsung's badly designed hinge. It also allows both of them to have a full width front display that looks exactly like a non-foldable. Meanwhile Samsung have done nothing for 4 generations other than try to make their badly designed hinge slightly smaller to give an extra 1mm width.
Samsung just don't want my money anymore.

I've had the flip 3 for 8 months now and absolutely love it! I hope with my phone plan to upgrade to the food next year though. One thing to keep in mind with the flip is the pre-installed screen protector wears out around the hinge after a couple months but you void your warranty by changing the screen protector yourself so you need to send it in to Samsung to change to keep the warranty.
I've been rocking the very first Z Flip and looking to upgrade it finally. So I'd stick with the Z Flip 4
if samsung manages to make the future zfold thin enough to were it's the same thickness folded as my s22 ultra I would instantly buy it no matter how much it will cost just imagine that a huge display opened and thin enough to were you would think it's your regular s series samsung

As a Z Flip 3 user, I gotta say its the best knowing the phone is its' own case. Also it's so much more compact in the pocket. I'll definitely be considering a future model. I've heard a lot about how the fold will get dead pixels after "x" amount of open/closes. I'm curious about that on the fold 4.
I'll be ordering my Z Fold 4 today, I think I'll grab a *Later Case this time since the official cases for the last 2 Folds weren't that great but we're really expensive considering the quality.

Latercase was by far the best case I got for my fold 3, protected the phone but kept an already bulky phone slimmer with a case. Only thing is I wish it had more color options. I'm not a plain black guy I like my devices to have some color

I was really hoping there would have been a more extreme upgrade on the cameras especially the space zoom but at least its better than my fold 3 which is terrible. Plus 1tb version available finally!! still not 100% sold on it but will pre order it and see
If you have a best buy near you, they had an option for me to buy and use the phone for two weeks, and I could refund it for full price if I wanted to, that could giv you an idea if its worth it without risk

since i held off on getting a 22 ultra, i really feel like i need the z fold 4. i have an s10+ still, and i feel like its gonna fit right into my need for a good but smaller tablet. plus i absolutely love that it has flat edges. im completely over curved edges
