This looks really nice. One of the biggest issues (imho) with foldables is they’re near brick-like. This has a great form factor and unfolds flat with little crease. I’m 100% in the apple ecosystem but this makes me consider getting a foldable. Shame it’s not yet available outside Asia.
Glad to see that you are doing videos in the old format again. This is what I loved about your channel. Waiting to find new videos from you about random gadgets and tech. Nostalgia kicks in 🥺
I don't even want to imagine how difficult it must be to repair a folding phone. Not like it's already getting more impossible each year to do any repairs on your own regular devie.
I daily z fold 3 for past 1 years, on beach, have dropped on hard concrete floor, not even scratch or anything. Still going strong. Trust me I am trying to kill it because i want to get new one but it doesn't die.
@@manojraut71 What do you mean with more than 7 times? Switched the battery on two of my phones. Since no matter how good you treat your phone, he battery is eventually going to degrade.
Right so these need to get just a little bit thinner, then we can have a two fold version where it unfolds twice - to three times the folded size. Then you could watch content closer to the native 16:9 or 16:10 and it would be properly tablet sized instead of square. Square is awkward for most video.
I’m an iPhone fan boy but after seeing the Honor V2 capabilities, design and innovation and since I use it mostly for business and watching videos the Honor V2 feels like a better option.
Ahh your idea.. except they have existed for a while now. Search trifold phone. A few companies have had working prototypes at CES in Mobile world Congress since 2019
The Volumebutton on the left, when unfolded, makes sense for me when you watch videos via kickstand! With my Fold it bothers me in the same situation when I always have to lift it to adjust it (or via smartwatch) 👍 I think it's a shame that it doesn't have an underdisplay camera! Because in percentage terms I use 99% of the time the display and not the camera and it really bothers me when there is a dot or hole when I watch a video, for example....
0:26 Yes, it's very important for us to see THE EXACT number of views the video had. I'm really glad that that was an editing note that was passed along to ensure the number of views for the video, which adds literally nothing of value, was present when the reference is shown
Great video! I want one of these but, they aren't gonna get a USA or Australia release! There is no plan for an international release. Where do we buy these from?
The S Pen tech in the Z Fold 5 is what adds some of the extra weight, along with Samsung's hinge. The S Pen tech is fantastic and is a feature that I would not go without in a foldable.
One thing I never understood about folding phones is why the companies dont go for designing two separate corner to corner screens that, once opened, snap in a position where they stand essentially gapless. That would completely vanish the crease problem and would look so much cleaner in my opinion, not affecting functionality... right? Don't know, just a thought.
I'm happy the EU is mandating easily replaceable batteries, but I also wonder how these devices will survive that regulation. I can't see how a device this thin can possibly have a removable battery. Which is a shame, because this is an incredible piece of technology that I would love to own. Hopefully the engineers figure out how to make this work with a removable battery! I just upgraded to a Moto Edge+ (2023) and I love it, but I believe it will be my last "regular" smartphone because I expect I'll get a folding device when it's time to upgrade. Excited for what the future brings!
can anyone tell me why finger movements at 5:22 don't correlate with the screen scrolling on both phones at the same time? Isn't it a real recording but screen overlay put on the phone screens?
I’ve always thought these folding devices would sell better if they were advertised as folding tablets instead. The idea of having a tablet that folds up and can become more portable sounds better to me than a bulky phone that becomes bigger.
No, they are just way too expensive but also too small for normal tablet customers, Meaning normal customers who prefer tablets with 10-13 inch rectangle screens, not some tiny square screen smaller than an iPad mini but cost more than buying an iPad and iPhone together lol
Not it wouldn't cause smartphone market is much bigger than tablet market. Also now it doesn't matter cause Honor has shown with this phone that you can have a very thin folding phone
I have the fold 4 and love the folding features. I am definitely happy I switched. Even from the latest flagship. The folding screen outweighs all other flagship features for me. This honor V2 really interests me for dimensions and even larger folded and unfolded screens...... my worry is whether the software will be as polished as Samsung. If it is........
