@beyond72 well its not about us not winning anything. The clubs who haven't won anything since 1955 are mid table teams that don't come close to winning anything anyway. But look at us. We've reached how many finals in the last 10 years and lost every single one. In the last decade, spurs have finished second in the PL twice and came third, like 3 times. We repeatedly get to the last hurdle just to trip on it everytime.

That's true. Watching the documentary, I actually thought only Dele, Lloris, Dier, really gave shits, and they were also vocal about it, which matters in a team.
Dele did well under Mourinho, he was back to showing creativity. Removing Jose was a mistake. But I think Mourinho dodged a bullet.
Sad for Dele though, he fell off. I guess it was psychological, and Mourinho was his father figure.
You can see it in the documentary and the games. I think the documentary didn't portray either of them ij the best light though.

Won back to back European trophies with Porto as well as treble and doubles in back to back years with Porto. In 3 seasons when he took over at Chelsea he won 2 leagues and 4 other trophies. Won a treble with inter Milan. Took madrid to 3 UCL semi finals from 2010 something which they had failed to do since 2003.
Won another league title with Chelsea. Won the europa league with united, as well as the league cup.

    As a spurs fan...
Jose saying at the end, the "Mr Levy club" is very very telling! Daniel Levy doesn't care if his decision-making is running spurs down... he wants to be the one to stand tall and say "look how I raised this club up" and "look how I built you this beautiful stadium..." True, BUT - he's not allowed the team to flourish and grow. Kane and Son are going to exit their peak - and he's not enabling new money to come in for Kane being sold - which could help us create a fresh squad with proper depth.
Instead, we're giving players with a lack of ambition and talent new contracts - and the decision making begins with this man.
I cannot for a second blame Jose - and I wish him well, and hope he wins Roma the EUL.

An Arsenal fan here that doesn't even see a lot wrong with what Jose said. I wouldn't even say he was making a dig at Tottenham Football Club or the fans, he explained due to Covid there lacked a fan connection; he wasn't there very long either and sacking him before the Final was madness. I will never understand that decision by Levy. The last comment "Mr Levy club" really says it all. Its still a huge job in world football and there is so much at Spurs ready to make them a force. What happens next with Kane is huge. I know Graham Potter has had a reputation slap by Chelsea but being aware he did not start the season and then had players getting brought in every 2 days for a month was ridiculous. Plenty of managers have been turfed out by Chelsea and gone on to do very well. Spurs could do a lot worse than Potter; I doubt the fans would be excited by him but this club needs to start planting some seeds for success at some point and its going to take a few seasons. Any owner other than Levy would have got Poch back. He was available on a free as well. Insane.

This is the smoothing of edges that time carry’s out. When you are young it is one person or one club or one career or one personality or one method, but then you get older and you see the flaws in all of them. Imma be honest. Idk how they do it. They’ve had decent players
Actually they’ve had two of the best forwards in the world for 7 years now. Peak Son and Kane were some of the best players ever. I mean the fact that they could beat man city back in the day shows you how good they could be.
I think it might be because they decided to build a new stadium and not give any of their managers real funds for a good defence and midfield.
Seriously, what’s the point of a building an amazing stadium if you’ve wasted the career of your two best players in recent years? Do you think you’ll be able to get another couple talented young players like they did with Modric and Bale?
Imagine spending only a couple of million of some of your best players yet, you can’t buy some better defenders and midfielders. You literally didn’t spend anything in todays football economy for Son and Kane, and decided your stadium needs a upgrade.
The thing that never made sense to me was how they did actually have the potential to win a trophy. Form 2015-2018 they were legit contenders for the league, and UCL. They had decent enough players that could carry them to the finish line. But instead of giving more funds to get some better players they instead think that it’s better to not because why not?
Actually crazy. If you think about it, if most top clubs got two of the best players in the world they would instantly try to do something with it. Look at Napoli, they had tow of the best attackers this season and decided to go for broke and try to win everything they could. -yeah maybe they didn’t know they were gonna win their league since most of their veteran players left last summer, the problem with spurs is the fact that in 2015/16 they could’ve won the prem. And decided that they wouldn’t buy any real better players to help challenge for the title. Then in 2018, after getting to the UCL final, they decide to not challenge for it with some better players again.
Do y’all understand me? If you got this close to the finish line, and saw that these players could do it again next year, wouldn’t you invest into the team a little more instead of building a new stadium? Am I the only one that thinks they’ve been one of the worst run clubs because they give up after getting second place?

I was extremely pro-Jose and think it's absurd that he didn't get a shot at the Cup final but at the same time, Jose needs to accept some responsibility for his part in failing at Spurs. Just like Conte, he made no attempt to change tactics when things weren't going well and he kept playing the same players who have been at the heart of all the bad habits Spurs have been plagued by for years. Players like Dier, Sanchez, Dele, Aurier, Sissoko, and Winks got way too much playing time under every manager since Pochettino.

    • @abdihassan2426

@@abdihassan2426 Sissoko and Aurier were among the worst culprits when it came to the bad habits that have made Spurs so inconsistent in recent years. The two of them were a huge reason why Mourinho couldn't play Bale when he came back on loan. There's a reason why the opposition constantly attacked Spurs' right side and it was because those two were on the pitch. Aurier was extremely predictable and repetitive on the attack with the way he would put in the same cross from the same position at the corner of the penalty area every single time. Neither of them had any concept of exploiting space when it came to dribbling and passing. Both constantly either dribbled straight into defenders and lost possession or make a non-progressive pass either backward or to a teammate who wasn't in space(who would then be forced to pass backward or lose possession due to that lack of space.)
