@@timcallcott2450 No fun football since sir alex. Should have been an easy decision
I disagree, he lost the league cup final & champions league final with Spurs, can’t blame the club for not winning trophies… in my opinion he should’ve left Spurs probably 2/3 years before he did & joined Barca who were interested, or another top club… & that’s coming from a Spurs fan
You can see Christian is having non of Levy's bullshit, it's obvious he's used to it at this point.
Nah it's just business. And you would try to convince any talented footballer to stay
@@wukongsun6223 They're talking about 20 million for a player that's about to leave for free in 2-3 months. The reason Christian is annoyed is that Levy rejected 45 million from Inter trying to negotiate higher fee which is insane for (basically) a free agent, and espacially after having promised Eriksen he'd let him go, and then Inter was ready to pull out and after Eriksen's agent begged him to come back Levy was still trying to get extra money. So by this point in conversation Levy had already fked him over 2-3 times in that negotiation and Eriksen refused to meet with him without Jose being present. Eriksen cornered him with the crew and Jose to make him accept the deal on camera. That being said Levy is an exceptional businessman, there's no denying that, he's just prioritising money over the relationships within the team.
@@brettervonkanada6102 I get all that but if I'm Levy, I'd be doing exactly that
You try to get as much as you can for a player and as much usage out of that player
He's got six months remaining so all power is quickly shifting to the player at this point and Levy knows that the best deal is now set at £20mill
Also everything on camera isn't official. Both clubs, agents need to talk and all that is done privately
It was all fake and rehearsed. It wasn’t real lol.

You can see from this interaction thst managers at Spurs don't have much input on who stays or leaves. It's all Levy.
It has to be. Because the owner sees all of the finances. How will the coach know what the players is worth in transfer fees? He won't
@@nofurtherwest3474 No, that's called Micro Managing. That's what sporting directors and the manager are for. The owner should not be having this type of say.

@@nofurtherwest3474 no it is not, that should be the job for Football Directors, Liverpool and Man City have it, and so does with Arsenal, that's why they won trophies, CEO/President/Owner only set the transfer budget, Sporting directors, scouts, and manager are the deciding factors on players transfer. you clearly clueless on the matter and you talk like you know it, LOL, that's embarrassing
@@TheDarkKnightRacist nope the way it works is when you're at the top you get to do what you want. capiche?
Levy and Mourinho are actually very clever and very intentional in this scene. Levy giving the player his valuation and warning the player he won’t be sold if Inter don’t match it, knowing Eriksen and his camp will lean on Inter to get a deal done. Mourinho praising his continued professionalism to set expectations and encourage him to continue playing at a high level if negotiations drag on. They should teach this scene in business schools
This whole thing was basically to say to the fans...look,we trying really hard here...do you see...look,we really mean it...watch me mean it here now in this we bit coming up....see see, that's me
Its all acting from all three, they would never have cameras in recording these conversations for the first time
good cop bad cop basically
It was just Levy setting it up to say we don’t want to sell you, if you genuinely want to go tell your agent it’s £20 mil, so the offer comes in for that… if Levy asks directly for that price it looks like he brokered the deal
20mil for prime eriksen was just bargain
it was not his prime his prime was 2 years before

If he had stayed I believe he’s up there with de bruyne
Not underrated by fans, there were probably two seasons he was the most influential & important player for Spurs & more so than Kane, Lloris, Super Jan or anyone. Such a strange yet fascinating insight to the conversations and the things that go on BEHIND THE SCENES at a football club.
we need more footage like this
Interesting interview, just shows you how difficult these transfers actually are, basically if you sign a contract with a club, you are then at the mercy of that club, even if you want to force a move, you can't as they will just drop you and put you with reserves if you dig your heels in.
Left Spurs; won league with Inter
then joined Man Utd to win the EFL and FA cup
he won regardless
Takes the realism out of it when a production team is involved
Eriksen gave heart to tottenham , they should respect him more !
if a player wants to leave let him simple
not how it works at all.
There's a contract signed by both parties with the intent of protecting both of them.
Imagine signing a five year contract and then after a year going to your employer and stating I want to leave, let me go
Employer "you got four years left on your contract"
Player "that's a lot of compensation you owe me then"
Employer "so you want us to transfer list you (fire you) so you can be paid £48mill in wages (not including bonuses)
Player "Yeah, yeah that's mathematically correct"
Employer "how about you just quit"
Player "Mathematically I won't get £48mill"
No ofcourse it isn't that simple, there's money involved and that complicates things
with all other 2 All or Nothing Clubs (Man City & Arsenal), Spurs literally hides nothing, they even put manager and players personal talk, even transfer talk so open like this.
There's barely any detail though. It's not like we get to sit in on the negotiation table with inter, agents and chairman's
Is that Julian from aftv who’s making all the transfers
I remember I used to sign him in Fifa 11 as my future world class player main man in career mode.
I had Hazard too, and I remember both for €30,000,000…

A few people talking about how this interaction shows Levy has much more control in Tottenham than managers but all this shows me is the different roles they have. Negotiating for the club is Levy’s job, not the managers. Jose’s just being a professional, knows this is not his conversation to take over.
I agree. I had no problem Levy talking to players who are contractually obligated to play for the club
Jose can't use the language that Levy uses when it comes to business valuation of players
He's not going to know how much Erickson is worth or his contract details
This was critical as he only had 6months left on his contract
This is prremium quality content wow
“Relatively small sums of money…” Patronising Levy
Christian was the link up man for Spurs, Harry and Sonny made their runs knowing where he wanted to put the ball. We've never been able to replace him, would have him back tomorrow.
I bet that room was bugged by Fabrizio Romano.
He was desperate to leave 😂
Thank you Christian for that freekick goal against Milan :)
They sold Eriksen for €27m at the end of it. Even if he looks reluctant Eriksen is a real professional here and respects his club while still imposing his will. Had he forced a move, Spurs would’ve gotten €10-15m at most
Pascal Cygan was world class
Senderos was better!!!
Giles Grimandi
20 m euro is nothing for erikson
It is considering he only had 6 months left on his contract
yes it is. His contract had less than 6 months less. Win won for both parties.
final fee was 27m euro
Eriksen
20million for Eriksen is a bargain.
it's not, he only had 6 months left on his contract at that moment. In 6 months they lost him for free. 20 million for a player in those circumstances is A LOT. Levy is just negotiating a highest fee (and he got 27 million at the end I think), and perhaps trying to kill the operation because it's a lot of money for Inter (and for almost every team in Europe) to pay that sum of money for a player in those circumstances. It's so complicated to understand that finances outside Premier are different?.
With 6 months left on his contract? That was a big fee given the circumstances
U mean when he finally decided to win a trophy
poor guy ,Daniel Levy
Levy handled this very well.
Two players manchester united should have bought and spent silly money on , Modric joined TOT in 2008 - Erickson 5 years later in 2013 , had utd had the class and vision they may have won the champions league far more , instead they've bored the life out of us

Doesnt sporting director be part of these conversations?
at the time, spurs had no sporting director
I don't understand why they tell him that he is worth 20 million. Because then Eriksen knows that if Inter offers 20 million, Tottenham will let him go. But maybe Inter were ready to pay more and they will obviously choose 20 million then?

Spurs were in free fall that summer..players were aging out, Mourinho upset the player first mentality of Pochettino, many players got loaned out, sold, dropped..his style of play and training was completely different...and he's just an a$$..Eriksen wanted out. Smart move. Levy is just doing his job, squeezing every dollar he could get out of Inter. It was a sad ending to one of Spur's brightest players of that era. No different than Modric. At least Erickson, showed up to train. Mourinho knows he has no say here and probably as a coach has figured this player won't be around much longer. He's already plotting plan B...killing Winks/Dele career and bringing in his own transfers Lo Celso and Ndombele(LOL).

Eriksen doin what goes best , self entitlement , Utd going through the same process. When will fans turn their backs away on this corrupt industry , all fans are mugged
We've had no issues what are you on about
The whole rule must be optimized and changed for the good.
There is a set Market value for every player, set by FIFA, and if moving out midway contract, the MV must be paid to FIFA, and they can hand it over to the receiving club, this way there is lesser turmoil.
Also if the contract is over, a small percentage of the MV must be paid by the new club to the old one, once he moves in. 'Free transfer' is the shittiest. Such a foolish phenomenon.
Value is whatever the buyer is prepared to pay and the seller is prepared to accept. That's true in everything.
That would be absurd. Tranfer fees are a negotiation based on the percieved utility of the player by the interested club. It's different for every club
Kane was running that club ,,jose was never even giving the chance ,,,jose could have took Tottenham places ,,the whole club do not care about winning anything it pays to sit round about the top end of the table and spurs have to be the most shut off club when it comes to actully listning the suporters .

That's not true, Yes he wasn't a starter but he had alot of moments under Conte, and Inter fans really liked him. personally I think he would have better under Inzaghi style of football sadly the euro's incident messed it all up. He needed a pacemaker, in Italy, it's not allowed to play with one
