Great Vlog. A true representation of how it works in Nicaragua. Fix the clutch and something else breaks. Go to a bunch of different shops (with no addresses) to try and get it fixed. That's Nica Life! Imagine expats like me trying to navigate the system with my limited Spanish. It can be so frustrating. You actually got that done fast.
Love the vlog and showing the details and what it takes. So happy you found this great mechanic and could get it fixed in reasonable time .... and butter for Courtney.
I admire the way you handle problems, always optimistic and with smile on your face. Please make sure the Cortney buckels up...always wear your seatbelt.
The vlog is great. I love the fact that you are showing people life in a Nico mountain town and how you are creating your farm. You are lucky you are not in Canada. If you had the same problem in Canada it would cost you AT LEAST $5000 to repair your truck. Looking forward to your next vlog.
Brother, you took care of business like a boss, like is suppose to be. You know what they say, When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I'm in Florida and love coffee as well and I'm from Nicaragua too, so you got a new loyal follower. Keep up the great work!
That is a representation of how things are in Nicaragua. For the most part is more an adventure of pure challenges to get things fix or done. The biggest obstacle is not the problem at hand it is how, who, where, when can the problem be fixed 😂😂 Mi Nicaragua Bella. Amazing vlog I love it. Also seeing you visit my town Esteli really brought back memories. Keep it pushing my guy.
Hey man, I've been binge watching your channel for the last two days. I just got a kick out of seeing the Joya Red and Cabinetta boxes on display at the coffee shop since i got to design the packaging for those some years ago. Anyways, love the content and wish you and your family the best. I know you're building a strong brand here and your efforts into creating this channel are as important as the hard work you put into the farm.
These videos are great! Keep them up. Showing the day-to-day in Nicaragua lets folks see how it is. The beauty here is that it only took 2 days. What I love about Nicaragua is that there is always someone with the skill to fix it! Here in the states it would have sat in the mechanics for 2 weeks! Haha
@@EmenseCoffee Oh - I’m in the U.S. But you showing the real Nicaragua helps people realize that our country isn’t some dangerous place that they shouldn’t travel to. It’s real people, with real lives, living in a kind of Peace you don’t get in the U.S.
Great video Hermano. First of all I’m glad that your pick up truck is working well. You need a Jeep Gladiator with manual 4X4 lol. Man what a beautiful Land Rover. Do you know how much they cost.? Never seen one like that before.
Poor thing, quite an expensive repair, although the labor was very affordable in my opinion. that is the issue, when you live in a small town, you have to get to the "big city " to get what you need. hope that 4x4 will last you for a while, without any problems. cheers @Emense
Man I could’ve fix that problem if I was there… that problem is common for that truck. Did you disposed of the old unit? You could potentially fix that one by just cleaning it. There are videos here in TH-cam about the process.
Elton, The bypass switch, to get the 4x4 turn off, disengaged. Can you explain that rig. I am planing to by same truck HiLux 4x4 soon. How did the mechanic did it. Thanks.
He _probably_ bypassed the location sensor and just powered the motor to roll back the gear - The actuator is really just two parts - One is the motor that moves the gear(s) and the wiper and contact points that tell the electronics where the motor physically is - Timmy the tool man Toyota channel and Mustie 1 as well have good videos on how to bring dead ones to life or replace them completely
@@cervezero777 If you get a pre 2000 rig (Patrol, Hilux, LandCruiser, 4runner, Montero et al) they will all be manual actuation BUT you have to like wrenching yourself as finding a mechanic that will not take advantage is difficult - They are around, but you have to use the coconut telegraph to find them
Yea - Toyota and many other car makers went with electric actuators for the 4WD mechanisms in the early 00's. What typically happens is that water gets into housing which indicates where the 4WD mechanism is. My Prodo still has the manual actuator lever (97, brought in from Japan) Quick tip - Look up the actuator part number via the EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) on line and see if it lines up with the Tacoma - Toyota is big on part number sharing and I get many many parts for my Prado from Tacoma and 4 runner equivalents - The EPC is on line..
first thing first.....always fully stop when switching gears on the 4x4 .... you might break something in there in the gear box. and then if someone goes to Nicaragua they should bring your wife some land o lake butter.....
What you need to do put the vehicle in park leave everything how it is. Don’t touch it leave the key on you get out of the car you disconnect the battery cables let it sit for about 30 minutes 15 the most by doing this what you are doing is resetting the computer module in the vehicle before you put the cables back on the battery. Make sure you ignition key is turned on position connect the cables once the cables are connect. Give like above 15 seconds make sure the transmission doesn’t park. Make sure everything is off radio everything before you turn off the vehicle then crank it up. You put it in drive or if it is manual you put it in first gear and drive it for about 2 km then you stop to turn it off. You turn it back on your shift four-wheel-drive system with the computer will recognize that everything is fine. good luck to you by the way next time get a 2004 and below the new vehicles they got too much crap too next time you get a 2004 and below this new vehicles has too many sensors

Try backing up and switching it, the release pin might be stuck.
I did a few times and no luck! It had to be fully replaced.
Love to pick your mind about the area..

True true! Labor was reasonable, it was the part it self that cost alot! Thank you. It's good now and I hope it's good for the next few years!
Buenísimos videos Elton
Gracias!
2 wheel drive is better than no wheel drive. Situation sucks but at least you didn’t lock-up the transmission.
True that!
By all means throw some advertising to the mechanics; I’m sure one of your viewers will need to seek these guys out at some point.
For sure 👍

I did try that and no luck! I needed the whole unit replaced.
NIca you alright
Price Mart has the butter
On the next trip!
Walmart too. la Colonia is very expensive
100%
Could be a vacuum leak
It was all broken due to water going into the eletric unit.
