one of the main things i'd say counts for the durability of a vehicle is it's repairability Sure, the Hylux's door stopped working after 5 slams, but you take a few screws off, give 20 minues of your time to fix the handle, screw the cover back on and bam! works like it's brand god damn new ...the cybertruck's door desintegrated on the first slam, that's not something you can repair with a flashlight, 20 minutes and a beer or two Even Top Gear's tests examplified not more so the durability of the hylux, but the REAPIRABILITY of one, it was completely dead several times, but a SINGLE mechanic with some rusty tools managed to get it back up and running after a bit of work
@randy s I like that the unbending method was 'Strap it to the tree that bent it in the first place, grab the other end with the skid-steer, and pull.' Any other car that would break something worse. I'm hoping to see...4 episodes of this thing.
To be honest, I was not really expecting this level pf durability, even though I have seen what Topgear have done to the Hilux. This will definitely be one of the most celebrated cars in the hiatory of automobiles, and one that does not cost a million bucks a pop!
It will be, except Car manufacturers finally release the old cars again. Sadly EU laws and US laws will never let this happen. Fucking useless politicians, always taking the fun and reliability from us.

He said “some Toyota fanboy is cringing right now” ...... I beg to differ. They’re actually smiling because of how they take a beating and keep on going. Joke is on you.
True story. This seriously backs the bragging up.
no i am cringing... we all know how they hold up, but no need to destroy another beautiful example to prove a point that was proven before :)
the fact of the matter is that, we fan boys in the USA are so jealous of you out there with all the diesel hiluxes and land cruisers :(
@@urbanturbine I'm with you, fans of Hiluxes already knew they were tough. Beating the heII outta this truck does kinda suck but if I was paid $50K-$60K to do it... I sure as heII would too.
@@urbanturbine Dont be jealous of me, I’m from the USA also lol. I have a 2021 Tacoma.

Toyota Hilux is everything the Cyber Truck promised it would be
as well as actually going to war and being a survivor
This truly is " they don't make them like they used to"
they still do. Hiluxs are still just as reliable
i got a 2016 hilux, they used it in a mine for 3,5yrs cause nothing else would survive there, except maybe a land cruiser. I bought it for 20k and beat the living shit out of it every day and its all fine. They still tough
Most of the Toyota here in new York have horrible frame rot. So to us, it's not all that it is cracked up to be. But this old girl, she got some strong bones.
@@s14tat Bro im not talking about tacoma or Tundra, Im talking about current Hilux models, you dont get them in the US

This video did not disappoint, that thing is tough asf. Jeremy clarkson wasn’t lying
I was thinking the same. I’m sure many NEW trucks couldn’t withstand the wrath of “WD”

It's fine though, there are millions of them in the US.
@@branch3336 they dont bring those to the usa lol that is why we have the tacoma

When you are done with her ... sell it to me for $20 I’ll try to attempt to rebuild it lol
I’ll be waiting.
I don't think you'll be able to rebuild it after he's done..
If you’re lucky you might get the... uh well, something, “usable”. Lol
Sorry to say but there will be no truck left to rebuild
I dont think there will be anything to rebuild
one of the main things i'd say counts for the durability of a vehicle is it's repairability
Sure, the Hylux's door stopped working after 5 slams, but you take a few screws off, give 20 minues of your time to fix the handle, screw the cover back on and bam! works like it's brand god damn new
...the cybertruck's door desintegrated on the first slam, that's not something you can repair with a flashlight, 20 minutes and a beer or two
Even Top Gear's tests examplified not more so the durability of the hylux, but the REAPIRABILITY of one, it was completely dead several times, but a SINGLE mechanic with some rusty tools managed to get it back up and running after a bit of work
It’s actually insane how much of a beast that truck is
I can’t tell if he’s being sarcastic but he seems genuinely impressed with its performance and that’s never happened before
@randy s the crash bar probably was to blame for the bent frame. But that way, with the radiator intact, he can keep it alive for futher testing.
I gotta lie, im not really impressed!
@@bunneh314 whoa calm down cool guy
@randy s I like that the unbending method was 'Strap it to the tree that bent it in the first place, grab the other end with the skid-steer, and pull.'

I have to say after seeing the cyber truck video it really very impressive about that toyota quality it really was built for very hard work!!

Agree 100% man! I had a stock Toyota Hilux when I was a senior in high school, bought it from my neighbor was was an old farmer who didn’t need it anymore only paid 800 bucks and helped his two son get up around 1500 square bails of hey, then he didn’t even want to take the 800 dollars but I insisted gave it to his wife behind his back Lol…. Hands down best truck I ever owned… But a drunk driver changed all that one night…. He hit me head on going around 60 mph in a Lincoln continental!!
