Did brakes, new cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads with sensors, got the warning light(pissed me off), hit your tutorial no longer pissed off thanks for your excellent advice..🇺🇸
Thank you so much for this video! They failed to replace mine also when I had my pads and rotors changed. Now, I can just do this myself! Much appreciated!
Just wanted to add for anybody searching for this: it could also be a curbed pin on the brake sensor connector. I replaced mine on a F31 along with brake pads and discs and it wouldn't reset in the dash. After checking the newly mounted connector, I saw one pin was not sitting straight. Straightend it carefuly, reconnected, reset worked (car on jacks, P brake tightend, brake pad service notification due for 300kms for info, you can read a lot on this reset not working because of brake on, etc).
Didn't work for me. I had the brake pads and rotors and wear sensors and changed the brake fluid on all 4 wheels. Parking brakes work fine. Everything went well as expected. A week later I forgot to reset everything. I was able to reset all parameters except for the rear brakes. Now I keep getting a dashboard warning light to check my brakes. I even changed the rear brake pad sensor 3 times with new ones. My parking brakes were off at the time. I drive a 2011 X3 28idrive
When resetting the rear brake, park your car on a level place, cholk your tyres, and release your e break and then reset it...that should do the trick...hopefully...
Wait until the $4 rubber gasket next to where your crankcase oil goes through a passageway in your alternator bracket fails Hopefully you can fix that rather than pay the dealer $700, LOL. Leave it to BMW to over engineer everything, dealer wants $200+ to change one on my wife's car, glad I saw this video. I guess putting an audible sensor that costs basically nothing in the brake pad was too pedestrian for them. Then they only put them on one side in front and back...
I picked it up from an online BMW parts dealer. There are a lot of different part numbers depending on the options on the specific car, but they can all be looked up on the bmw dealer website.
I had the same problem as you had. I replaced the front brake sensor, and I still could not reset. After searching the internet, I finally fixed my problem and it helps for your case. The tip I got is, when you do reset, you have to put parking brake OFF.
Break sensor you can buy after market break pads if you want, your sensors though keep it OEM...I replaced mine today and it resolved the issue, you may reset until you are blue in your face it won't work, replace and voila...

Thankyou so much just bypassed my brake pad sensors but fault was still lit, never knew you had to reset the light in those settings

Great walkthrough, thanks. Just changed my pads but now I think the sensor needs replacing.

I see the BRAKE word is still on on the dash. How do you get that to go out?
I had my parking brake up in the video out of habit. That light goes off when the barking brake is down/released.
Hi, really good video, where did you buy the sensor? What's the part number?
I picked it up from an online BMW parts dealer. There are a lot of different part numbers depending on the options on the specific car, but they can all be looked up on the bmw dealer website.
When putting on the new sensor did you take out the metal clip that was in the inside the sensor ?
I get reset is not possible even it’s a new sensor and new dics and new pads
I replaced the pads and the sensor but i cant reset the brake light message pops upp on the dash reset cant be done ?

I have the same probllem i change the sensor and not reset disponible
Can you help
i changed my pads and had same issue of not willing to reset. Is there anything else beside the sensor that could cause this?

I think you just have to unplug it and plug it back in.
I didn’t see your brake light turn off is it still on
I had the parking brake up and forgot to put it down in the video, but yeah the light did reset.
will this work on 528 model
