Keep going !

Glad to help. I realise that when you're new to piano there are so many things to learn and it can be daunting, so I try and keep that in mind and explain things in simple terms.
That was a super and clear demonstration! I was looking to buy my daughter a P45 but will now look at the P115 especially for the additional pianos, record feature and the increased polyphony..well worth the extra hard earned money..once again, thank you so much for making my decision easier.
Wow that's really useful..I'm a beginner & I'm confuse in choosing between this 2 models,& after watching this video, I think I have made my choice to buy my very first piano,Thanks !
+Zefotru Between the P115 and P45, you made the better choice by far. The inclusion of 1/4" L/R Aux Outs on the P115 is worth the price difference. Without them, you cannot connect them to an audio interface to record, external speakers or an amp. That is a huge deal. I played the P115 yesterday, it's really nice.
Regarding speaker theory: It is very hard to built a single speaker that is capable of playing the full frequency spectrum without a high amount of distortion, especially in higher frequency regions. By using a two-way speaker system, you gain level in lower regions without raising the distortion level in higher regions. So you could say that the p115 is MORE RELAXED when it comes to playback.
I asked my parents to buy me one for my birthday.. I'm a beginner though and my first choice is the P45 but after some research and watching this I changed my mind.. I will go for P115 :) God! Choosing between P45 and P115 sure brings back the memory when I first play Pokemon Emerald (Choosing my starter) btw nice video and thank you.

Great video! Thanks for the presentation and for having an opinion! You've convinced me that the p115 is not only the better instrument, but the better value, as well.
(01/07/2021) Hello, @chrisonpiano! I saw this video a few years ago (I want to say around 2016 - 2017?). Your video helped me choose between the two models as I was looking to add a full size, 88-key weighted piano for rock piano and the sensitivity of playing softer ballads (primarily the reason why I chose the P-115 for it's sound sampling and higher polyphony than the P45...not that the P45 isn't a good digital piano). It was an excellent purchase for me, and still remains to be. I also use a Yamaha MX-61 to have for my synth sounds, so the P-115 was a great add-on in general for my music creativity. Just wanted to say "thank you" for helping me with my purchasing decision. Not only is the P-115 a great practice piano, but it definitely does more than it's fair job on stage when you play keyboards for a band. Cheers from the USA!
@@ePianoscouk - Hi, Chris! Thanks again for the recommendation. I'm not nearly as experienced a piano player like yourself, but I did agree with a lot of what you had said about the P-115. While the P45 is a great digital piano for beginners or for people looking for a more bare-bones sound, I do appreciate the sensitivity and dynamics of the piano patches of the P-115. Although my piano playing chops are not up to par, I still like to play with sensitivity and emotion behind the notes and chords, and the P-115 helps me do this in heaps. I had to go to our band's rehearsal studio to bring it over to my mother's place so that I had somewhere I can have access to it. Thanks again, and cheers!

Very helpful video, I was planning to buy Yamaha P-115 but was still searching if am I making the right choice. This video cleared my all doubt about p-115 I’m going to buy this right now! Thanks for posting the video ❤️
ePianos.co.uk Many thanks Chris for your brillient presentation between the P115 v P255 although as stated there I'd already decided last week on the P255 which arrived a couple of days ago. I am very pleased with my purchase/decision and even more so since watching & listening to your excellent presentaion
Thanks for a great comparison. There really appears to be no contest. One thing that you just skimmed, was for me very important and that the P45 has no dedicated aux output. Where as the P115 Does. This for a gigging musician is critical as for me it's important not to shut off the monitors when you have line out to the desk unless you have headphone provision. Having switchable monitors with two outputs obviates the issue and for me it's a deal breaker, not having this option.
I tried the P 45 at Guitar Center as compared to the P 115, and I thought there was no contest.. meaning the 45 was downright TINNY and as you made a crescendo in P45 it lost its consistent timbre...... I could not play very long. However, basically, my Yamaha Arius 141 plays circles around both but if I had to choose between P 45 and P115 I 'd take 115!
If comparing internal sounds...for sure. However, software pianos via MIDI with any of them blow away nearly all of the hardware pianos if you have the computer specs and audio hardware to run them. Vienna Imperial or Garritan Yamaha CFX for example....
thank you for this review. I am not sure where you put the microphone, but it sounds like it was on the seat of your chair. Perhaps a clip on Lavalier microphone would’ve been a better idea, or a quieter chair on a temporary piece of carpet? at any rate, I will stick with my 12-year-old Yamaha P 60. It has performed flawlessly for nearly 12 years and it sounds great still with a proper graded key action
Great video. I was on the fence about getting a P45 bundled with all notable accessories at my work for 400 usd, but this video convinced me to look for a P115 instead. I tend to get frustrated & discouraged easily when I cannot learn to play both halves of a piece of music, so the play-back feature should help keep my interest as you had described. Thanks.
This may be a longshot, would you be able to share the names of the songs you riff at 16:05, 16:33, 17:13, 18:23, and 19:22? Thanks for the awesome review and riffs!
Thank you so much - It's all improvisation and could probably never play it that way again sorry! I've been playing a lot of improvisation on my personal TH-cam channel here: th-cam.com/users/Teleandfilmmusicvideos
You sir just explained everything I wanted to know and the seller couldn't tell me at the store. I just thought he wanted to upsell me. Now I know I want a P115. Thanks a lot!
i have to say i am pleased that i watched your demo video, as for me, the P115 has much better features that i would really benefit from especially the 3rd piano sound, which is much more my style. One note, however, is that it may be hard for viewers to get a balanced perception of the comparison if you are using just one mic, as the mic sounds like it is positioned closer to the P115, and if so, and the mic is a large diaphragm condenser mic, there may be some proximity effect taking place that will enhance the low frequencies emitted from the P115 (due to the mic being closer to it). Personally, sound quality and the feel is more important than how many programs it has, or how many other features outside the normal piano features and Midi. As i personally would use it as a piano feel midi controller or a stage piano. Where quality is more important than quantity. So, yep pleased i watched your video, as i was planning on buying a P45 to replace an old Roland Stage Piano that i had which recently broke down, now i will definitely not instead opting for the P115. Unlikely that i will use the speakers, the record function or any other program but the piano's. But still, decent product for the money,. These days you get a lot for your money! i remember not so long ago, any stage piano would cost over £700 for entry level. So awesome what you get for your money.
Please just off the topic a bit. I am torn for choice between the Yamaha P-45 and the DP-6. I have heard that the Yamaha P-45 inbuilt speakers are not so good. I dont know how true that is.
Good review. Helped me with deciding. If the P-45 had been made with one decent 'rock organ', I would want to get it. Have to look at others, now. I have an old AlesisQS 88 keys, with several decent organ & piano sounds, but am just looking to find something that I might not need a dolly, (wheels) to move.

Yeah another good comparison look forward to your Yamaha P115 v P255 Comparison, What piano should I buy' you promised soon thanks
James Wood As promised James, here's your P115 v P255 video: th-cam.com/video/I9vcKWAmpNY/w-d-xo.html
ePianos.co.uk Many thanks Chris for your brillient presentation between the P115 v P255 although as stated there I'd already decided last week on the P255 which arrived a couple of days ago. I am very pleased with my purchase/decision and even more so since watching & listening to your excellent presentaion
Outstanding review and comparison. Helped me decide the p115 was worth the extra money.
Best objective comparison,
Excellent job.
Thanks
Thanks for a great comparison.
There really appears to be no contest. One thing that you just skimmed, was for me very important and that the P45 has no dedicated aux output. Where as the P115 Does. This for a gigging musician is critical as for me it's important not to shut off the monitors when you have line out to the desk unless you have headphone provision. Having switchable monitors with two outputs obviates the issue and for me it's a deal breaker, not having this option.
Glad this guy was British, made the videos credibility easy to trust .
Can't tell if joke or xenophobic 🤔 (still assuming that it is a joke tho)
Thanks for the video, I was going to buy the p-45, but now you've completely convinced me to by the p-115
Thank you for this review i'm a beginner, after 3 months searching what kind of digital piano i'm going to take, i decided to buy P115 today.
Great, but beware that it has been replaced by the P-125. Watch our video review.
2 thumbs up for John Oliver's cousin!
The Arius costs twice as much. At least.
yeh I bought the 115 cos of this :). next mozart incoming ;)
Godspeed
Was gonna get the P45, but decided to go with the P115 after seeing this video.
Expecting it by Tuesday.
thank you for this review.
Thanks.
+Brushstroke Thanks, enjoy it!
These are such good videos for beginners. Thank you so much for all the great advice.
You're welcome, glad to help.
Thank you so much for the review. I feel like I'm better informed now.
Really helpful video, thanks! I'm going with the P-115 after seeing this.
wow, youre very good at explaining stuff. thank you
Excellent video. I know now that it's 115 I have to go for. Thanks!
+Odd Magne Granli Glad to help, enjoy it.
Amazing video! Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise! Decision made - 115 it is.
This may be a longshot, would you be able to share the names of the songs you riff at 16:05, 16:33, 17:13, 18:23, and 19:22? Thanks for the awesome review and riffs!
Thank you so much - It's all improvisation and could probably never play it that way again sorry! I've been playing a lot of improvisation on my personal TH-cam channel here: th-cam.com/users/Teleandfilmmusicvideos
very helpful video! am beginner piano player and this definitely gave me some insight in which piano to buy
What a lovely review!
You sir just explained everything I wanted to know and the seller couldn't tell me at the store. I just thought he wanted to upsell me. Now I know I want a P115. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, sir. Great help!!
Excellent review, very nice of you to explain things especially for beginners ("
Thanks for the comparison.
i have to say i am pleased that i watched your demo video, as for me, the P115 has much better features that i would really benefit from especially the 3rd piano sound, which is much more my style.
I've got one of those crappy Yamaha £50 pianos :( doing grade 4 really think p115 will keep me happy for years
I think if you are a beginner buy a p 115 but if you are a experienced player buy the p45
IllusionX shouldn’t that be other way around?
Srijan Kumar Singh Yes, according to the video, but what I said is just my opinion.
Thanks for the video!!! Your reviews are the best!
Amazing video! Really helped me decide.
Thanks a bunch.
Thx for this top comparison!
Merci beaucoup pour la comparaison!!
Love this guy.
This vídeo really helped me to decide. I went for the P115.
