I spoke to this guy today... Not often you hear such a good explanation without sell sell sell **** One of the best reviews and comparisons I've found so far...
Thanks Ian, that is exactly what I wanted to achieve with these videos. I was recently trying to buy a digital camera and couldn't find any videos that weren't SELL SELL SELL, I thought people probably have the same problem buying digital pianos so I made these videos. I don't mind which one people end up buying I just want to help them decide which one is right for them.
+Mr. Lee Hi both the P115 and the DGX 660 have Yamaha's GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) and since you don't care for all the extra features I say go for the P115 since it's $200 less if you are buying it by itself and without the stand.
Thanks for the excellent comparison. I'm in the US and recently bought a DGX650 bundle that included the optional pedals, bench and amp. I'm just a beginner learning to play so I don't know a lot, but find the keyboard and sound excellent. Digital pianos are so good these days and affordable, it'a hard to really go wrong. BTW: You guys show a lot of skill in your demos. I have watched many of the comparisons, and they are some of the best on TH-cam.
I love these reviews, not because I'm shopping for a keyboard (not anymore might I add, and thanks to the help of this gentleman I was able to decide what keyboard I should get), but because of this man's charisma and talent for presenting; especially in reference to his ability to give you the pros and cons/ specifications of each keyboard never leaves you in the dark. The single best reviewer I've seen for keyboards with a lovely voice. These reviews are so entertaining I've just been binge watching them. Cheers, and thanks for the reviews.
Great comparison. I have both DGX and P115 sitting in my room right now. And I have to say P115 sounds noticeably better. I bought both because I was confused to the core and wanted to test them side by side in person and eventually return one of them. Hence I will be returning DGX. As much as DGX offers, at this stage i dont need all that and for an enthusiastic keyboard player, I care most about the sound. And p115 is just a notch deeper and rich! I can make a video while playing both if that helps people.
Nice review. I have both pianos. I don't use 1/10th of the features on the 650 but the 6 track recording feature is really nice and my daughter loves all the sounds. There are many good samples - even the horns sound good. The keyboard on the P115 seams to work better on the long run. The keys on the 650 has become noisy and a few of them starts to get stuck.
Chris I want to thank you for all your helpful posts. I live in the US so I bought my Yamaha P 115 here. You are awesome and I appreciate all the information you have shared.
Chris really helped me out in choosing which piano is best for me. I've decided to go with the P-115 based on this video and his advice. It's nice to have someone knowledgeable be considerate to a complete novice.
i tested both and dgx is really quality with sound, speakers and mostly the keybed. it is 10 times better than p115. if u dont need being portable, go for dgx definitly
Awesome, im a begginer in piano but with muscial knowledge, my question to you is, If I buy a digital piano, dos the hammer get damaged? here in Mexico its so expensive. I saw the keybords DGX 230 and YPG 235 and they sound very well ! and dynamic and the price is 200 dollars compared to 560 dollars buying it in USA. Do you think that if I buy a dgx 230 or YPG 235 i would regreat in a future ??? or should I buy an electric piano already ?
hi, i didnt try them. if you can afford, definitely you should buy a real piano, any digital piano feels like a real piano in my opinion. for digital ones, it depends on your taste. you always want to upgrade the digital piano with an expensive one but it will never satisfy you. so dont think too much, just buy when you feel comfortable. greetings
thanks for the answer experienced, The hammers included in the digital piano do not need repairing and maintenance then ? If not I shall ! thanks orkun
orkun abi merabalar ben piyano çalmaya yeni başlıyorum taşınabilir bişi istiyorum bana önerebileceğin modeller nelerdir nerden satın alabilirim ? do-re nin sitesinden baktıgımda 2 model arasında kaldım yamaha p115 ve casio privia px360 hangisini tavsiye edersin ? bunların haricinde bana önerebileceğin varsa bekliyorum..
dgx 650 nin 10 kat daha iyi oldugunu belirtmişsin ama sanırım daha ağır bi enstrüman taşınabilirlik açısından daha sıkıntılı gözüküyo dediğin gibi napsam bilemedim :) sorabilecek fazla kimsem de yok o yüzden hope to see your reply soon :)
Guys, played a Yamaha Mox 8 and Korg Triton. Both synthesizers and Yamaha feels and sounds great though the Korg has some large touch display. Have also played the DGX 660/650 and neither the sound nor the feel is appealing at all. The keys are hard and the sound quality is disgusting(for lack of a better word).I even feel the DGX shouldn't be weighted. I have a small budget and my playing is also basic. All I want is some nice quality sound and a soft great feel across the octaves. Something that feels and sounds like Mox8 or Motif or Montage. Does the P125 or even 115 feel the same? Anyone who've played either of them please.....
I have dgx660. I recommend dgx660 if you still confused compare to P115. P115 win only weight. Dgx 660 advantage 1. More acoustic piano samples 2. Have so many voices and styles 3. Mic input for singing 4. Display text on screen for Karaoke 5. Recording midi 6 track 6. Recording audio WAV 7. Import new styles from USB 8. Pitch bend 9. Etc.
ncdv47 i notice the same thing base off the description on Amazon. since i didn't buy myself a Christmas gift and my birthday in 2 months I'm thinking about the dgx 660
I think a lot of people would like to hear the sound of each keyboard alone, like how would it sound if we were playing with headphones, because with the microphone it can sound good but I think we would appreciate better the differences if we got a headphones-like sample for each keyboard you compare.
Thank you for your videos I think they're great two instruments but are different benefits offered in addition to the cost of what gives you the DGX-650 but in my case I would go for the P-115 because only need pianos, strings and pianos Electric . I think the sound is best heard on the DGX-650 by the size of the speakers. thank you.
The p255 has better sound than the dgx-650, dgx 660, or the p115, or even the p125. All of them have between 128 polyphony - 192 polyphony. But the p255 has a whopping 256 polyphony! Plus more power more watts per channel bigger speakers etc. They are all good but the p255 sounds the best
Instead of all these options, wouldn't it be cheaper and more versatile just to use a computer or iPad to do the recording, etc? Save the money on the quality keyboard, and use the power of the computer that you probably already own?
Is there anyway to save a DSP setting so that when you turn off the piano and turn it back on the setting is saved? I like to change DSP sound to a larger hall but every time I turn off the piano and turn it back on its always back to default. (DGX650) Thanks
Hi, i have a technical question about DGX-650. I bought a DGX-650 few years ago, and i stared it on his keyboard stand. However, how can i move it elsewhere without dismounting it? Is there a keyboard stand that is able to support it when i play in a concert for example? Thank you for your possible reply
Apart from the small Speakers which are noticed on the Console Edge on P 115,there are 2 comparatively bigger Speakers below the ones seen on the Top. I wonder if the DGX Series has that kind of an arrangement with Speakers. Hope ,we can see Video making a comparative study of the Digital Piano Voice and the Clavinova's Piano voice.
Please just off the topic a bit. I am torn for choice between the Yamaha P-45 and the DP-6. I have heard that the Yamaha P-45 inbuilt speakers are not so good. I dont know how true that is.
What is better to play on gigs, concerts andrestaurants? From one side p115 doesn't weight a lot and it is easier to take with. From other side it has much less functions than DXG650
Awesome video! My personal preference is the dgx650 because of its versatility. Now, I'd like to know any other models that you recommend in this category? Same price range is ideal. Im looking to buy this type for xmas and wanted to compare. Thanks!
I've only been playing piano for about 4 weeks. I bought a P105 and then sold it to get the DGX660. To say i'm disappointed is an understatement! The key action does not compare to the P105. It sounds like I'm playing drums when the keys hit the bottom. I know I'm a newbie but I also know how to press a key. I need the volume on max to cover the sound of the keys being played. Would love to know if anyone else feels the same?
Thanks for all your amazing reviews :) Does yamaha P-115 has a silent functionality with Headphone? Since I mostly play at night but don't wanna wake everybody's up .
hay i don`t have piano and i don`t have any way of gating it cause i live in Ethiopia. it`s too expensive to buy so can you buy me this dgx 650 so I could play piano. pleas i am in love with piano i have a chans to touch a piano only ones a week in our chruch for like 30 minutes or less so if you could do this to me you would be i don`t know what can i say
Yes! It typically keeps the keys from clunking loudly when you release them. It provides much quieter operation of the keys while playing. Believe me it's not just on there for decoration. I happen to think the red lining looks pretty as well. But it is actually on there for a reason, not just for decoration
bro can u make a comparison and upload it to youtube. in my country dgx-660 is cheaper than p-125 and has a lot more features like mic input. if there is a huge difference ill go for p-125
Your review is great! Have a question for you. Can you compare DGX660 and P-255? This is for a beginner student (10 years old) but I do not want the fast learner student to outgrow the piano in a 2-3 years time frame. I understand P115 is a portable and simple but great sounding piano but I prefer to provide the student with recording options as well to provide creative options to the student if interested and learn the instrument and various features in the beginning itself rather not know about it later in the game starting to uncover the many features required to be proficient for at least a mini recording studio. Of course, not trying to say know it all but the point being is to provide and give exposure to the useful things out there to develop upon them through the journey. Possibly, P115 already is out of league from what I have stated as my requirement here based on your review and hence my ask to compare P-255 and DGX660. Portability is a must for me and top priority but please note the student has an adult help as well.
If I play with the drumkit in the DGX650 can I use my own drum samples or do I have to use the factory presets? and I take it you can use an SD card to import and export wav/midi files? Thanks. p.s I want to by the DGX asap.
+Mixdown Technology You can use USB to transfer wav from the DGX to a computer, you can also use it to trigger your own drum sounds on a computer via MIDI connection.
ePianos.co.uk Excellent, thanks for the info. Basically this keyboard can act as a drum sampler by using your own chopped up WAV files. I will be buying two of them now, one for sampling the other for composing both linked up to my PC/laptop into my DAW. Thanks again.
should i get the dgx 660 compared to the p45 or arius ydp 143 ? tbh i rather get the p115 due to the portability, but it doesn't sell in my country, but can dgx 660 be moved around just like any portable pianos ? if it can't, i might as well buy ydp 143 because it looks better for interior in the house
Sir, what the different ydp 143 with P series.. if just the output sound, if i put in to dolby or dts even high end stereo speaker.. it wilk be same sound? Cz i would like to boy ydp 143 but i saw p45 with 1/2 price less.. i dont care about the cover but i buy for the feel of the tuts and output sound..
Hi,I'm planning to buy a digital piano. I'm thinking about the Yamaha Arius YDP 142 or the P-115. See not that many differences, so can you give me an advice which one to buy? It's not necessary that I want to take them in a car to something or what. Or can you make a vid?Would like to hear from you!great vids!Greetz from the Netherlands
+Benjamin De Lange Hi Benjamin, I've just finished making a video on the YDP142, you can watch it here, hope this helps! th-cam.com/video/wSHN_sSkNLU/w-d-xo.html
This was the video I was looking for. A real opinion of the demonstrator. I want to buy the DGX-650, although I have to see where in my house it'd fit. All the voices sound clear on video. I'll have to try it myself in a store one time. Does the DGX-650 have a sort of choir-voice(s)? I couldn't find it anywhere on youtube. so maybe you guys know that! And if it's there: be honest with the quality of the sound of it :D
Hi. Thank you for the very informative videos. I have narrowed my decision on my piano purchase down to the P115 or the DGX650. I played a bit of piano when I was a kid, and still dabble, but would like to spend the time re-learning. My young son is interested in learning as well. We don't have the money for a traditional upright or baby grand piano at this point. I like the simplicity of the 115, and especially like the ease of fusing 2 sounds together (ie piano with strings). How easy it is it to accomplish this task with the 650? With the 650, I like the tutorials on the LCD, as well as all the fun band sounds and the 500 voices. I don't think I need to be too concerned with the difference in polyphony. It appears from your video that the speakers sound better on this unit as well. Is there any good reason I wouldn't go with the 650? Thanks to anyone who might have their input for me.
+Erik Meitzner Hi, sounds like DGX650 is the best one for you, especially as you have a young son too. The DGX650 is so much more fun for youngsters. The only reason you might go for P115 is if you think you and your son would benefit from having a simple instrument which makes the process of learning more focussed. Some parents of my students say their children learn better by focussing on one task at a time, rather than having lot's of options to play with, it just depends on the student.
I'm looking into getting piano. I use to play the trumpet back in 3rd - 10th grade and unfortunately stopped. And I've wanting to learn to play for the longest, I have to teach myself to read music again! I'm having a hard decision choosing between the P-115 and DGX-650. Does the P-115 allow you to easily record what you've played onto a PC for review purposes?
If I only want to play "piano" and I'm more concerned with developing proper touch, technique and tone in my piano playing (such that I could easily transfer to an acoustic piano), which would you recommend? Thanks for the video btw. Very informative!
+ePianos.co.uk now that u mention it. i wanna ask about the 3 pedals for dgx 660. and the other thing, please make a review for dgx compare to cvp. much appreciated^^
+Willy Alexander The 3 pedal unit (LP7a) is available for DGX650/DGX660 here www.epianos.co.uk/yamaha-lp7awh-triple-pedal-unit-for-dgx650-piano---white-finish-582-p.asp - And we do a bundle including these pedals with the DGX660 here; www.epianos.co.uk/yamaha-dgx660wh-digital-keyboard-lp7a-pedals--headphone-bundle---white-now-in-stock-1006-p.asp - Essentially they work the same way as the pedals on a grand piano. Without the LP7a pedal unit the DGX660/650 does come with a small sustain pedal like this one www.epianos.co.uk/yamaha-fc5-piano-sustain-pedal-573-p.asp
I agree. Piano Room, available on Dgx 660, is a nice improvement for the beginners. It makes it very easy to use. The microphone input is also nice to have when you will improve. Bonus: DGX 660 has the 192 polyphonies (like the p115 in this video).
Yes, I used to do the same when I had a DGX - I found a foldable XX stand was more convienient for taking out to gigs. Getting it in the car was easier too!
I have just bought the 650. A lot of sound effects indeed but 50% are not interesting because not enough natural and pleasant. Also and this is the main problem the 5 sounds of piano (grand piano and the four others) are not so nice. : (
Do either of them support half-pedaling? I got the Yamaha FC3A pedal and it wouldn't work with my Casio CDP-120, so I'm planning to upgrade. (Edit: I checked, and apparently the DGX650 doesn't supoort the FC3A, only the DGX660)
Thanks. They are totally different keyboards to be honest. P255 is very simple and DGX is more versatile. There is no right one, just what suits you best. In terms of just playing piano then P255 is superior certainly. DGX is more fun if you like multi-track recording and playing with backing music.
the polyphony being a lot higher than the 650 and I believe the keys are finished differently. i believe its also using the new Yamaha acoustic grand as the sound model....or that may be the 650.
I have a serious question that you could possibly answer : is the CLP 115 the same as the P115 I wanted to be sure I get the right one great video sir cheers!
My name is Thair and I am confused whether I should buy yamaha dgx-660 or casio px-860, knowing that I am in the begining of moderate level of piano playing and so the important thing to me is to get a piano as close to acoustic grand piano as possible in terms of keyboard touch, feel and sound?? thanks in advance..
Thair Al-Janabi go for p115b it is the best ! Casio is cheap in terms of sound but has a heavier weighted keys but p115b will do just the same job in developing your piano technique to play at any acoustic grand piano + p115's sound can't be compared to any other digital piano, not even the clavinovas or any other brands.. it's just another portable CFIII. I have played them personally so I can tell you better about it because once upon a time even I was in the same situation as you are in!! I have a p105B personally. Thanks
Do you guys think that they (Yamaha) will add a new model in the dgx line? there was a price drop with the 640 and 7 months later the 650 came out. now a couple months ago a price drop happened with the 650 and still is in that price range. does this mean that Yamaha is intending to release a new one? They usually add a new one 2 to 3 years after a release of a model
Filippo Bonaventura yeah I saw it yesterday.... gonna wait for that one... it can't hurt waiting 3 more months before it comes to belgium... too bad they didn't improve the display, didn't put a MIDI out and it would be good if they also programmed their softwares for android swell (android : big market in EU)
I spoke to this guy today... Not often you hear such a good explanation without sell sell sell **** One of the best reviews and comparisons I've found so far...

+Michael Pohoreski Good idea thanks for this Michael, I 'm going to go through all the videos and put 'playing test' start time in the description.

It was a very clear and straightforward video that explained everything! Thank you so much, it really helped! :)

raykrv6a Thanks, that's really kind of you. - Enjoy the DGX it's brilliant.
Thank you for you honest and great review! :)
+Yamaha Corporation of America Thanks! Two great products and loads of fun playing with, I love my job ;-)
What is better the DGX660 or P255
@@williamhufano4594 get both.

What about built-in speakers sound? Does P-115 produce low frequencies well? What speakers sound better between them two?
Аляксей Катаркевич it seems like it would be the dgx since it has closer and (I think) bigger woofers. That’s what I’m gonna get
Nice review. I have both pianos. I don't use 1/10th of the features on the 650 but the 6 track recording feature is really nice and my daughter loves all the sounds. Chris I want to thank you for all your helpful posts. I live in the US so I bought my Yamaha P 115 here. You are awesome and I appreciate all the information you have shared.
Herb Spear Thanks Herb, enjoy the P115.
Incredible articulated review of P-115 and DGX-650. Bravo!
You're reviews are very thorough and very informative. Thanks!
this video was very helpful toward my decision making... Thank you Mr. ePianos dude
Now I am looking at the P125 vs DGX660. Based on the predecessors, I'm pretty sold for the DGX. Your video was very informative, thank you so much!
the p125 sounds way more realistic than the dgx660 in person
Most reviewer prefer P125 or Roland FP30 tho
Chris really helped me out in choosing which piano is best for me. I've decided to go with the P-115 based on this video and his advice. It's nice to have someone knowledgeable be considerate to a complete novice.
What is weird is that the P-115 doesn't need the polyphony that the DGX650 needs with the multi-track recording. They did things backwards.
There is something about a British accent that seems to make you sound more intelligent.
The accent is a convenient cover for sure.
lol hahahaah
It is funny how the typical American thinks you could read your shopping list with a British accent and sound like Michael Caine reciting Shakespeare.
Boris Chang plz stop stereotyping Americans, seriously. Everybody is different, I don't know anybody that thinks that.
That's because we are.
i tested both and dgx is really quality with sound, speakers and mostly the keybed. it is 10 times better than p115. if u dont need being portable, go for dgx definitly

Note worthy the p 115 has dedicated left and right outputs connect to some monitors and the sound difference is huge
also a much more serious keyboard with better 'less' sounds

9. Etc.
P125 better .
P125 public
Dgx 660 home
Thankyou
Based on this review, I will be going with the p-115. The dgx-650 is too “extra” for me. Thanks!
Can you make ydp144 vs dgx660? Which one has a better sound? Which one of these is better a advanced piano?
I played both and I must say I fell in love with the p-115. It’s just so much a richer sound a better touch than the dgx.
I agree
Great review - definitely looking into the newer DGX-660 bundle in the New Year (I see it has 192 polyphony now?)
ncdv47 i notice the same thing base off the description on Amazon. since i didn't buy myself a Christmas gift and my birthday in 2 months I'm thinking about the dgx 660

Hi. Can extra sound modules be used with the p115? Are Roland modules compatible with it, too?
I found these videos very helpful and we decided on the DGX-650. Really pleased with the prompt service from epianos.co.uk
Thank you so much Sir for your video. It helped me understand really what I am looking for. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
dgx 650 sounds great!
Thanks to this review I bought DX-660.
Quite happy with the purchase. Thought I'd mention I even got from ePianos, as they had a good sale for it!
How much it costs
Is there anyway to save a DSP setting so that when you turn off the piano and turn it back on the setting is saved? I like to change DSP sound to a larger hall but every time I turn off the piano and turn it back on its always back to default. (DGX650)

DGX660 is pretty good
Hi, any advice on how to use Bluetooth headphones with my DGX650 please? Many thanks
You rock! Happy Holidays!
Awesome video! My personal preference is the dgx650 because of its versatility. Now, I'd like to know any other models that you recommend in this category? Same price range is ideal. Im looking to buy this type for xmas and wanted to compare. Thanks!
Wonderful review! You just made it easier for me to decide! (also, you're very handsome and charismatic)
Thanks for your comparisons. Could you do the Roland fp30 vs Yamaha p115 please?
Thanks ...nice review. Will the DGX650 produce score from the 6-track record section and send it to the thumb drive?
I've only been playing piano for about 4 weeks. I bought a P105 and then sold it to get the DGX660. To say i'm disappointed is an understatement!
The key action does not compare to the P105. It sounds like I'm playing drums when the keys hit the bottom. I know I'm a newbie but I also know how to press a key. I need the volume on max to cover the sound of the keys being played. Would love to know if anyone else feels the same?
Funny my P45 GHS which the same system not loud at all
Funny that my P45 GHS which the same system with the DFX not loud at all
So 2 years later and I can say I was wrong 😂
Thanks for all your amazing reviews :)
Does yamaha P-115 has a silent functionality with Headphone? Since I mostly play at night but don't wanna wake everybody's up .
+Soli Art Hi Soli, Yes the headphones can plug in disabling all sound output
Thank you so much ePianos! keep up the amazing reviews! you are the best :)
Which piano is better just by tone, sound and touch (keeping the additional features like the number of voices etc aside) p125 or dgx660?
Hi, teacher. If you play them using the same headphones, can you tell the difference?
What is it called the one you start playing at 4:26 ?
hay i don`t have piano and i don`t have any way of gating it cause i live in Ethiopia. it`s too expensive to buy so can you buy me this dgx 650 so I could play piano. pleas i am in love with piano i have a chans to touch a piano only ones a week in our chruch for like 30 minutes or less so if you could do this to me you would be i don`t know what can i say

is the dark-red lining just above the keys functional in any way?
Yes! It typically keeps the keys from clunking loudly when you release them. It provides much quieter operation of the keys while playing. Believe me it's not just on there for decoration. I happen to think the red lining looks pretty as well. But it is actually on there for a reason, not just for decoration
In person playing the dgx 660 vs p125, the p125 sounded felt much more realistic and alive..
I'm shopping for a keyboard and those are the 2 I've narrowed it down to... gonna play in person later today and may update this post
Picard's Flute whats the update?
bro can u make a comparison and upload it to youtube. in my country dgx-660 is cheaper than p-125 and has a lot more features like mic input. if there is a huge difference ill go for p-125
Hi, I have the PSR S670 and Im very happy with it.
Thanks again.
the winner is?
should i get the dgx 660 compared to the p45 or arius ydp 143 ? tbh i rather get the p115 due to the portability, but it doesn't sell in my country, but can dgx 660 be moved around just like any portable pianos ? if it can't, i might as well buy ydp 143 because it looks better for interior in the house
Hola cual piano es mejor en calidad de sonido para musica afrocubana?? P115 o DGX650
For some reason the DGX660 here is cheaper than the P115. Which one should I get?
Subscribed. What a great explanation.
Stand of yamaha dgx 650 can removing from keyboard ? Maybe can use another stand
Thanks for your great explanation.. so helpful.
+Taha Jameel You're welcome, glad to help.
So if you add a wooden stand to the p115, they cost about the same?
Hi, Does the p115 support weighted keys and full size keys?
Sir, what the different ydp 143 with P series.. if just the output sound, if i put in to dolby or dts even high end stereo speaker.. it wilk be same sound? Cz i would like to boy ydp 143 but i saw p45 with 1/2 price less.. i dont care about the cover but i buy for the feel of the tuts and output sound..
Very nice review!
+Heintjee Hi, if you send me an email to epianos88@gmail.com I will make a short video of the DGX650 choir and send it to you.
Hello , May I request the comparison between DGX660 and YDP143.Which one should I prefer to buy?
I'm a beginner though...
+Jonathan Singh Yes, both of them allow easy transfer of recordings onto PC or Mac.
+ePianos.co.uk Cool! Thanks for your response.
If I only want to play "piano" and I'm more concerned with developing proper touch, technique and tone in my piano playing (such that I could easily transfer to an acoustic piano), which would you recommend? Thanks for the video btw. Very informative!
+jonaloin P115.
can i load my own music to play alone with on either P115 or DGX650 ?
How much do you like the sound of them from 0 to 10?
thanks for your review mate :D
+Willy Alexander You're welcome, hope it helped.
Without the LP7a pedal unit the DGX660/650 does come with a small sustain pedal like this one www.epianos.co.uk/yamaha-fc5-piano-sustain-pedal-573-p.asp
wow, thanks for the fast reply mate.
really awsome ePianos.co.uk !!
:D
I have watched this many times. I really appreciate your detailed review. I live in Texas, USA. I bought it locally.
Which one?
what is the sound comparison between the DGX-650 and P-255?
+Brendan Reilly Same sound but different speakers , so dgx sounds better unless you attach amps or something
thanks!
No this is not true. The P255 is professional grade speakers, 15 watts versus dgx only 7 watts!
Can you record on usb or transfer to computer and play back in keyboard speakers
Is easy to perform a glissando on either? Just because they are weighted keys, because on my real piano it's a bit hard.
Yes it's no problem.
If I'm a beginner which piano is recommended?
Well you should buy the new one Dgx 660
I agree. Piano Room, available on Dgx 660, is a nice improvement for the beginners. It makes it very easy to use. The microphone input is also nice to have when you will improve. Bonus: DGX 660 has the 192 polyphonies (like the p115 in this video).
do you know if the hammer need maintenance on the p115 ?
jb nano
no the hammer don't need any maintenance as far as I know personally!
I ditched the wood stand to my DGX650 and use a tubular stand for gigs.
: (
bingo
Do either of them support half-pedaling?
I got the Yamaha FC3A pedal and it wouldn't work with my Casio CDP-120, so I'm planning to upgrade.
(Edit: I checked, and apparently the DGX650 doesn't supoort the FC3A, only the DGX660)
What is the song that you play to compare the pianos in the beginning?
I'm curious, do you think a Yamaha P255 would be a better piano than a DGX660? Those are my two choices right now :) Love your vids btw!
Thanks. They are totally different keyboards to be honest. P255 is very simple and DGX is more versatile. There is no right one, just what suits you best. In terms of just playing piano then P255 is superior certainly. DGX is more fun if you like multi-track recording and playing with backing music.
Does both keyboards run on batteries.
could you guys do one between the roland fp 30 and the kawai es 110?
Thanks!
What makes the p115 almost the same price? I don't get it
the polyphony being a lot higher than the 650 and I believe the keys are finished differently. i believe its also using the new Yamaha acoustic grand as the sound model....or that may be the 650.
Yamaha website specs says the DGX 660 has 192 polyphony
It sure does. And this video features the DGX650 which has a max polyphony of 128.
I have a serious question that you could possibly answer : is the CLP 115 the same as the P115 I wanted to be sure I get the right one
great video sir cheers!
Hi, the CLP115 is a discontinued instrument and very different to the P115.
ePianos.co.uk thx
duh, why cant the DGX have the brilliant Piano sound of the P-115? it's making my decision impossible.
My name is Thair and I am confused whether I should buy yamaha dgx-660 or casio px-860, knowing that I am in the begining of moderate level of piano playing and so the important thing to me is to get a piano as close to acoustic grand piano as possible in terms of keyboard touch, feel and sound?? thanks in advance..
get casio px560
get casio px560
Thair Al-Janabi
go for p115b it is the best !
Thanks
Thanks for the details review. Very good explanation!
+JustAName A few days ago at NAMM 2016 was announced the new DGX 660.
+JustAName Yep, DGX660 will be available mid-March approx. Hopefully we'll have some videos up soon.
+ePianos.co.uk Thanks :-) it will be available starting in April in Belgium
very good presentation covered all I wanted to know thanks ;)
+Robert Stockdale You're welcome, glad to help.
DGX650 vs P255? If you could have any transportable Yamaha digital piano, which would you choose?
P255 no doubt
