      Depends which type of Vitamin C is used. For the AA2G used here needs different treatment levels over 2% (needs buffering). I will be doing a separate 15% Vitamin C serum soon but i wouldn’t increase vitamin c on this formula for possible of loosing stability and increased irritation

    Have you tried formulating Sepiwhite? I have bought it but it seems difficult to dissolve in water. The solution of 2% has precipitates... Is it normal?

    • @ziverorganiques
      @ziverorganiques  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have heard about sepiwhite but no haven't tried. I will look into. Says it can be combined with AHA and niacinamide. Based on Seppic website (the manufacturer) provides this " Add the SEPIWHITETM MSH and tromethamine in the hot water phase and stir until a clear solution is obtained.".. looks like you need to heat it.. similar to how allantoin dissolves

    • @jonsantiago7549
      @jonsantiago7549 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ziverorganiques I did heat it up but still it has precipitates and while the solution becomes clear when heated, it will become white opaque again after cooldown… Maybe Sepiwhite needs to have a very very low concentration in water. I was trying to achieve a 2% solution but the result is not quite successful as the solution is not clear… or maybe because I do not have tromethamine that you have said. The formulation I found did not have that. An interesting finding for me is, when I tested the pH, I took 2 grams of the sample mix it with 8g of water but then did not throw away that solution and add some drops of coco betaine, the solution become clear. wondering if the alkalinity of the betaine that dissolve the particulates…

    • @ziverorganiques
      @ziverorganiques  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jonsantiago7549 I can’t help you much as I have never worked with this material. However I found this information from Seppic for “formulation guidelines” basically it needs to be heated and neutralised to ph 7. This is all I can provide info. Sorry I can’t help you further…
      “Step 1: Pre-disperse SEPIWHITETM MSH
      in 20% of hot water (70-90°C) & a weak base (TEA/ Triethanolamine.. to neutralize (pH 7). Homogenize with the spatula.
      Step 2: Add the rest of water (room T°) and let it cool down under magnetic stirring.
      → Clear solution & stable over time.
      ⇒ Possibility to formulate in water to make lotions, toners, micellar waters.
      ! Other solubilities: ethanol & glycols (cold process). Do not neutralize at the end of the formulation process.”
