      I love this formulation and wanted to know if there is anything I can add to make it a bit less runny, similar to the Vaseline body oil brands. I've been playing around with a few stuff but can't seem to nail it without it being too greasy. Any advice ?

      I know you said don’t over think the oils and substations. I want it to come out great but at the same time keep it natural silicone free, so what if I use MCT oil like refined coconut oil and rose hip seed oil, sweet almond oil and grape seed oil? If not then I guess I will use a silicone ester like Isoamyl cocoate. What’s your thought? I ordered some scents from stock fragrance. I’m interested to see how their fragrances are. Any suggestions on what I should use would greatly be appreciated thank you.

    When you put that butter on your skin, I had to laugh. With that being said, I made it and used all the ingredients in your recipe, except for the rose hip oil (allergic, used sunflower oil instead) and the isoamyl cocoate (used isopropyl myristate) and it turned out wonderful. I ordered some isoamyl cocoate to see how it differs from isopropyl myristate and I want to use argan oil instead of the sunflower oil.

    Ilove your shimmer summer glow body oil formulation- but want something more sheer. In your blog post on the formula, you mention if you use less shimmer to increase the amount of apricot kernel oil. I find though, with doing this, the mica then sinks to the bottom instead of staying in suspension, like the original recipe. If I cut the shimmer amount in the recipe in half and want to increase the fragrance, would I also increase the c12-alkyl Benzoate and the polyamide 3? Thank you so much in advance. Your formulas are beyond amazing! ❤❤

    Hi humblebeeAndMe! Thanks for sharing your formula and your reasoning. That’s very valuable.
    By way of giving back, may I suggest that you put your formula and a tall, thin sort of container, possibly with a rubber band wrapped around it, like you do with test tubes in the lab, so that if it falls over, it doesn’t break, we’re all off the counter?
    The reason for the narrow storage container is so that there’s a limit to the amount of air that in contact with the formula, limiting the rate of oxidation.

    Hi Marie, Could you please make a non comedogenic moisturizer?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I've made many moisturizers that work well on my face, but I pay no attention to if they are "non comedogenic" or not. Here's why:
      The idea of "comedogenic" or not really is nowhere near as simple as religiously avoiding every ingredient that gets a "bad" rating on a comeodogenicity rating chart. Comedogenic ratings really aren't all that helpful when determining if a product (rather than a pure ingredient) will clog human pores, so formulating something that is "non comedogenic" is not as simple as just avoiding a set list of ingredients on a chart.
      I recently tried a commercial moisturizer from a well-known that was advertised as non comedogenic and it broke me out horribly, so even when something is supposed to be non comedogenic, there are zero guarantees.
      Lab Muffin made a great video about it titled "Why Comedogenicity Ratings Are Kinda BS " ( th-cam.com/video/-wz__FPq5kE/w-d-xo.html ). The title really says it all, but the general gist is: your skin isn't made of rabbit ears + the overall formulation really matters.
      Happy making!

    Hello! Do you use natural or synthetic vitamin E? Both are super expensive in my country 😢

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use natural mixed tocopherols. It's generally around $8-9/oz here, but I generally need 0.5% or less, so it lasts a long time :)

    Do we need to add any preservative in it?

      preservatives are only needed for products that include water or water-based products. This is 100$ oil so no.

    Where can I purchase these ingredients

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I always link to places to purchase all the ingredients for all my formulations in the free partner blog post, which is linked in the description box below the video ❤️
      Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/.
      That page doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop.

    I must have used the wrong oils, mine's awfully greasy in the end(just a mix of stuff i had). I'm going to have to try a new oil or varieties of oils

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Which ester did you use? That's key to the non-greasy-ness :)

    How would we incorporate the polyamide 3 (to add the shimmery mica) into this formulation?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd recommend following the formulation linked on the end screen :) That's more or less where you'd end up.

      Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT or Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) and fractionated coconut oil can be used interchangeably in this formulation, and in most cases are exactly the same ingredient :)
