I had ordered a bronzer and it arrived smashed to bits. It wasn't worth sending it back and I did love the colour so didn't wanna chuck it away. Ooh this is exciting! I started making body butters 13 years ago because the Body Shop butters were so expensive. I still love my go-to anhydrous whipped butter (a generous slater before bed with cotton PJs works wonders in the winter), but it definitely doesn’t have the luxurious feel of this style. It never occurred to me that an emulsified formula would support additives. I saw some interesting ones at Lotion Crafter that I’ll have to take a second look at.
I'm still okay with using 100% natural ingredients in my body butters over using any water (that can grow pathogens) or synthetics even if it means they get a bit firm in winter. and too soft in summer. Actually, I've pretty much resolved both those issues by using another ingredient which turns my body butters into a mousse like consistency, which spreads like a dream, absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving it tacky plus you only have to use a small amount to cover a large area.
@@cosmicanu Powdered rose or hibiscus flower. I've found that the hibiscus works best. Just enough to stop the stickiness and slick of the body butter. I usually put it in last. Both give the body butter a pretty pink color. I also use essential oils and absolutes for their smell and therapeutic benefits. It doesn't look like normal body butter; it's light and fluffy and nourishes the skin beautifully. I also put in vit e, which is an antioxidant, though you don't have to. As I don't use any water there's no need to add antimicrobial agents as bacteria and fugus need water to exist. So, it's 100% botanical and free of any synthetics. Give it a try.
@@nouranmohamed3823 My pleasure. I'm sorry I can't tell the ratio as I go by feel. Not very scientific I know but the proportions differ due to the season, and I don't think it matters. My balms have a mousse like texture and are very light to the touch. However, only a small amount goes a long way and it's very nourishing for the skin. So, far I have had no problems with people being sensitive to it, even people who have sensitive skin. I do make sure the essential oils I use are skin friendly and in the right amount. Actually, you can forgo the essential oils and just the oils and butter and the hibiscus or rose powder to get the right consistency. Both are safe to use internally as well as externally. I drink both as a tea with a bit of honey. My place is awash with pink. Sorry, I've been a bit vague about everything, but this is how I make my skincare products. Some people may choose to use arrowroot instead of the rose/hibiscus, but I like the look of it plus both powders have skincare benefits. So, if you see a formula that uses arrowroot just substitute it out for rose or hibiscus. I hope this has been somewhat helpful. Best of luck.

@Esoterika I agree. My customers would be unhappy if I changed the recipe and sold them hand creme when they know what butter is. Granted, some will like the creme for summer months, but wouldn't appreciate me calling it butter when in fact it is not.
@@glasshalffull4622 it IS in fact body butter. Merely different formulations. Adding liquid does NOT mean it is no longer body butter. Creams & lotions are completely different formulations and ingredients.
I’ve been making this for a while now. Best recipe ever if you follow the instructions! I actually make 2 batches - one for body with a bit of EO and one for face without. It’s lovely and it doesn’t break down as the no water recipes: when I went to South Africa, that batch just melted! But in France last year with the heat wave, formula was perfect. ive made this recipe , once comfortable sith it i changed up oils & fo ive never enjoyed body butters because thier just to oily for me this formula i absolutely love all thd body butter goodness without feeling greasy thank you marie ........
Very nice video! If I may make a suggestion, your watchglass would do a better job if it were flipped over. The lower center of gravity would make it more stable. More importantly, the condensation will form a fat drop in the center of the glass and return to the beaker. It looks like your watch glass has a lot of water at the edges, so it's not keeping your water in the beaker as well as it should.
Have you had any melting issues in 80+ degree weather? I made this formulation and left in my car for testing purposes. 84+degrees and it became liquidy but Deff not oily like anhydrous butter.
What butters did you use and oils. Summer time is all year round in the carribean I make non oil just hard butters I use the Hydrous emulsifier, Medford
I used to make body butter, the secret is the amount of emulsifier to water to oils to add. Then, you whip it all up for a few hours. I have whip shea butter that is still solid from a few years ago , still smells wonderful.

i followed another recipe calling for 1/2 cup of each - shae, cocoa butters & 1/2 each of coconut and almond oils - prettty greasy i say - so happy to found you - i ordered a small bag of cetal alcohol - Do you think I can fix my body butter by remelting and adding cetyl alcohol and how much what is the percentage

The first time I made this, it turned out beautifully! I had never used cetyl alcohol before. The butter is gorgeous ad absorbs quickly … I love it. So, when I made it again, I quadrupled the recipe and make some for a friend. After the 30 second burst and then hand stirring, it didn’t thicken as it did the first time. Is it not possible to triple or quadruple the recipe? The result is not a loss but …. Help!
Hi! You can definitely scale the formulation, but everything will take longer (heating and cooling especially) because the batch is larger. I suspect things were moving along as normal, just more slowly than you expected, and that's why it seemed like it wasn't thickening :) Thanks for DIYing with me, and happy making!
This is. a great recipe, and it came out great except that my immersion blender created SUCH a layer of bubbly foam. It was all the way submerged, too - but the second I hit the button the bubbles started piling up. Idk, maybe a taller, narrower mixing container? I was using a 1 cup measuring cup. It settled down after about 15 minutes of hand stirring, and came out great. 💗

Please, can you make me a serum that exfoliates the skin of the face with fruit acids, a peeling similar to TCa, because I suffer from strong pigmentation, and I tried everything and it did not work. It emulsify like when we make mayonnaise here. In Catalonia we usually make our mayonnaise every time with egg, olive oil, salt and just a little squeeze of lemon. We get the egg out of the refrigerator to be at the same temperature of the oil and then fix our turmix like you did at the votos of the vase. Better not move it until it emulsify or else it will “cut” and will never get to be a cream/butter. Those more oil, the harder the mayonnaise get.
@Julia I don't know. You can do it without the lemon, some people put a little vinegar (very little). If I don't have lemon I don't put it. But I think it has more to do to lower ph and act as a conservative. Because egg and oil emulsify if they are at the same temperature and you dou it with care. The traditional mayonnaise uses only the yolk and puts the oil very slowly while you stir constantly at the same speed in a "mortero". To make allioli (oil and garlic) you smash the garlic with salt in the "mortero" an then stir it with just some oil. Then someone drops the oil just drop by drop while you stir. It still will emulsify. Oils do that. But not everyone would be brave enough to try to do it by hand! My sister in law used to made the best allioli. I get tired when I have just a little made.
What's your favourite w/o emulsifier? I've been enjoying Neocare P3R (shop.skinchakra.eu/en/Cosmetic-Lab/Emulsifiers/Neocare-P3R.html) lately. It feels like there's 10 o/w emulsifiers for every 1 w/o one!

Hi Marie!! This video was so helpful, I made my first successful emulsified body butter by watching this and reading your blog posts. It looks like a few things went wrong though, and I’m doing some research to figure out why. Maybe you could offer some insight? The first thing is that I substituted e wax NF for BTMS 50, I was working on two formulations - one that uses btms at 10% and the other at 4% (I’ll be making the 4% one tomorrow). I also used Optiphen as my preservative. When I double boiled the water and oil phases, the oil phase solidified really really quickly, so I added it and I barely had to use my emulsion blender to get it to the right consistency - it was nice and smooth though. But once I added the optiphen the formulation turned a little clumpy, nothing crazy but not smooth. It had no thick chunky lumps but it’s just not smooth until you rub it in your hands. Any advice? Thanks so much!!!!💕
I really like the Shea Body Butter from the Body Shop, but it is hard, not silky texture in the tub, is there a difference between how that one is made vs your formula? Also, in this video it doesn't look like a lot of shea butter is used, and a lot of other ingredients, is that normal? Are most body butters made with many ingredients? I've only just come across your channel, so I will be watching more videos and learning! Also one more unrelated question, but do you also breakdown perfumes, and their ingredient list? One of my favourite perfumes has been discontinued 😢 so would love to try and recreate that! Thank you, I've subscribed! X
Hi Laura! Welcome :) The Body Shop product uses more solid fats that I do, which will make for a harder final product. I was aiming for something softer & creamier, resulting in different formulation decisions. Some emulsified body butters will use lots of butters, some will use more liquid oils; it really depends on what they're going for. Different blends and ratios of fats will create different skin feels. An emulsified body butter will need around this many ingredients (this is a pretty simple formulation), while an anhydrous one can have far fewer (though it will have other challenges, like melting in warm weather and getting too hard if it gets too cold). Unfortunately, due to the complexity of perfumes and the resulting labelling, it's impossible to break down perfumes from the ingredient list since the perfume ingredient will only ever be "parfum" or "fragrance" :( Happy making!
I was wondering if pH testing is necessary in this recipe? With water and a preservative added it would probably be safer to ensure the cream is at the right pH level so the preservative works? Thank you!
Hi! I designed this formulation to be beginner friendly, which is why selected Liquid Germall™ Plus as my preservative. It has a very broad pH range, making pH testing unnecessary (from a preservative efficacy POV) if you make the formulation as-is. If you have a pH meter and can test and adjust it to 4.5-5.5 that is great for skin health, but if you don't have one you don't have to-the preservative will still work and the pH won't fall in an unsafe-for-skin range when made as written, though it may not be ideal for skin.

I wanted this formulation to be as beginner friendly as possible, so I chose a preservative that has a very broad effective pH range so we don't have to test. It is generally a good idea (and a must if you use a preservative with a narrower pH range), but I wanted to get newer makers started without complicating things too much :)
I love love your videos Marie.Thankyou for these! I have a small issue I need help with. I made a small test batch and fell in love with this body butter. I then included it in my shop by adding different scents and colours and it turned out impressive. I made a big batch and stored it but after 2 months, I randomly opened one jar one day and it was spoiled with growth in it. I am not sure what was the issue. The butter was in an airtight jar but was placed in a rom where there was too much light I admit and probably hot too. I use Isopropyl alcohol to sanitise my jars and take immense care while formulation to not introduce any contaminants. Please help! I'm not sure what was the exact reason of the spoilage and any help would be highly appreciated
My best guess is that because this is a 100 gram formulation, the preservative used and amount are intended to keep for a shorter amount of time. You probably need a different preservative and /or different proportions for long-term storage. Or you can always freeze it until needed.

I'm so glad you're enjoying it! I found that reducing the glycerin to 5-10% dramatically lightened the skin feel of the product, so you might try that. There is no need to add starch; that's a strategy typically reserved for anhydrous formulations because our hands are tied a bit by the anhydrous-ness. If you want to make this formulation lighter, simply make the oil phase smaller. Click the video linked on the end screen to learn how to do that 😄
Hello. Can you please suggest a natural emulsifier? My son is following an acne treatment and it's left his skin so tender, anything with alcohol and even certyl alcohol will sting. Thank you!

Yes you can! Keep in mind what kind of extract it is, glycerin based, alcohol, oil, etc. if you want you can swap a big percent of water for a hydrosol, it’s like a plant extract but you don’t have to worry about extra ingredients
I am only just getting in to wanting to make natural and healthy products, and getting away from all the chemicals that are harmful for our bodies. Some of the ingredients listed I've heard other yt use. But some I haven't. Of course now I can't remember which ones, other that the some kind of alcohol. I've been working on some alternatives ever since, but haven't published anything yet. I want to make sure I share something that works!
@@HumblebeeAndMe Oh yeah, no baking soda, it really hurts me big time - I live in a city (Chennai) where it gets super hot and without deodorant it's really difficult and all store-brought ones give me rashes so I've been wanting to desperately look for natural alternative.
I have heard of people and recipes replacing the baking soda by - using zinc oxide, or magnesium carbonate, or diatomaceous earth instead. Haven’t tried any but am planning on researching. I have used bicarbonate of soda for some years using only half of the quantity of any recipe I have followed. Sometimes added Aloe Vera Gel in the mix to sooth and protect skin. You can make your own aloe gel too. And will need a preservative.

Before I watch the video I’m gonna comment water. They use water because it’s cheaper and they can make way more on their ROI. Pure butters are way more expensive all alone in a jar. So what they are making are just thick creams. It’s far from a body butter.
😂😂 you are right though. They add more water than all other ingredients and call it moisturising. I almost bought one recently that they call body butter but when I went through the ingredient list, there wasn't any kind of butter in it. Nothing, no butter in it at all. Only emulsifiers and oils. Shame on that brand, I thought.
Thats not a body butter, thats a lotion. Both use similar ingredients, the only difference is consistency, if its not super thick and stiff, its not a body butter.

Hi! - Xanthan is not required for success, and this is designed to be a very simple, beginner-friendly formulation, so why add an ingredient that isn't needed? - There's no need if you use this preservative; it has a very wide effective range. - Again, not required, and I was trying to keep the ingredient list as short as possible. If you watch more of my videos you'll see I use it in almost everything that's a bit more complex :) You can definitely include some in this formula and I'd recommend it if you choose carrier oils that are fast to oxidize. It never occurred to me that an emulsified formula would support additives. I saw some interesting ones at Lotion Crafter that I’ll have to take a second look at.
me too. I started making my own when my daughter would react to everything.
I'm still okay with using 100% natural ingredients in my body butters over using any water (that can grow pathogens) or synthetics even if it means they get a bit firm in winter. and too soft in summer. Actually, I've pretty much resolved both those issues by using another ingredient which turns my body butters into a mousse like consistency, which spreads like a dream, absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving it tacky plus you only have to use a small amount to cover a large area.
And what's that ingredient?
@@cosmicanu Powdered rose or hibiscus flower. I've found that the hibiscus works best. Just enough to stop the stickiness and slick of the body butter. I usually put it in last. Both give the body butter a pretty pink color. I also use essential oils and absolutes for their smell and therapeutic benefits. It doesn't look like normal body butter; it's light and fluffy and nourishes the skin beautifully. I also put in vit e, which is an antioxidant, though you don't have to. As I don't use any water there's no need to add antimicrobial agents as bacteria and fugus need water to exist. So, it's 100% botanical and free of any synthetics. Give it a try.

@@nouranmohamed3823 My pleasure. I'm sorry I can't tell the ratio as I go by feel. Not very scientific I know but the proportions differ due to the season, and I don't think it matters.
My balms have a mousse like texture and are very light to the touch. However, only a small amount goes a long way and it's very nourishing for the skin.
So, far I have had no problems with people being sensitive to it, even people who have sensitive skin. I do make sure the essential oils I use are skin friendly and in the right amount. Actually, you can forgo the essential oils and just the oils and butter and the hibiscus or rose powder to get the right consistency. Both are safe to use internally as well as externally. I drink both as a tea with a bit of honey. My place is awash with pink.
Sorry, I've been a bit vague about everything, but this is how I make my skincare products. Some people may choose to use arrowroot instead of the rose/hibiscus, but I like the look of it plus both powders have skincare benefits. So, if you see a formula that uses arrowroot just substitute it out for rose or hibiscus. I hope this has been somewhat helpful. Best of luck.
I've only ever made emulsified body butters. They're light, non greasy, dont melt and completely stable no matter the weather.

@Esoterika I agree. My customers would be unhappy if I changed the recipe and sold them hand creme when they know what butter is. Granted, some will like the creme for summer months, but wouldn't appreciate me calling it butter when in fact it is not.
@@glasshalffull4622 it IS in fact body butter. Merely different formulations. Adding liquid does NOT mean it is no longer body butter. Creams & lotions are completely different formulations and ingredients.
I’ve been making this for a while now. Best recipe ever if you follow the instructions! I actually make 2 batches - one for body with a bit of EO and one for face without. It’s lovely and it doesn’t break down as the no water recipes: when I went to South Africa, that batch just melted! But in France last year with the heat wave, formula was perfect. Very nice video! If I may make a suggestion, your watchglass would do a better job if it were flipped over. The lower center of gravity would make it more stable. More importantly, the condensation will form a fat drop in the center of the glass and return to the beaker. It looks like your watch glass has a lot of water at the edges, so it's not keeping your water in the beaker as well as it should.

Have you had any melting issues in 80+ degree weather? I made this formulation and left in my car for testing purposes. 84+degrees and it became liquidy but Deff not oily like anhydrous butter.

What butters did you use and oils. Summer time is all year round in the carribean I make non oil just hard butters I use the Hydrous emulsifier, Medford

I used to make body butter, the secret is the amount of emulsifier to water to oils to add. Then, you whip it all up for a few hours. I have whip shea butter that is still solid from a few years ago , still smells wonderful.

The first time I made this, it turned out beautifully! I had never used cetyl alcohol before. The butter is gorgeous ad absorbs quickly … I love it. So, when I made it again, I quadrupled the recipe and make some for a friend. After the 30 second burst and then hand stirring, it didn’t thicken as it did the first time. Is it not possible to triple or quadruple the recipe? The result is not a loss but …. Help!
Hi! You can definitely scale the formulation, but everything will take longer (heating and cooling especially) because the batch is larger. I suspect things were moving along as normal, just more slowly than you expected, and that's why it seemed like it wasn't thickening :) Thanks for DIYing with me, and happy making!

This is. a great recipe, and it came out great except that my immersion blender created SUCH a layer of bubbly foam. It was all the way submerged, too - but the second I hit the button the bubbles started piling up. Idk, maybe a taller, narrower mixing container? I was using a 1 cup measuring cup. It settled down after about 15 minutes of hand stirring, and came out great. 💗

Try Niacinimide! I made a serum with Niacinamide and it has improved my dark spots!

It emulsify like when we make mayonnaise here. In Catalonia we usually make our mayonnaise every time with egg, olive oil, salt and just a little squeeze of lemon. We get the egg out of the refrigerator to be at the same temperature of the oil and then fix our turmix like you did at the votos of the vase. Better not move it until it emulsify or else it will “cut” and will never get to be a cream/butter. Those more oil, the harder the mayonnaise get.
@Julia I don't know. You can do it without the lemon, some people put a little vinegar (very little). If I don't have lemon I don't put it. But I think it has more to do to lower ph and act as a conservative. Because egg and oil emulsify if they are at the same temperature and you dou it with care.
The traditional mayonnaise uses only the yolk and puts the oil very slowly while you stir constantly at the same speed in a "mortero".
To make allioli (oil and garlic) you smash the garlic with salt in the "mortero" an then stir it with just some oil. Then someone drops the oil just drop by drop while you stir. It still will emulsify. Oils do that. But not everyone would be brave enough to try to do it by hand! My sister in law used to made the best allioli. I get tired when I have just a little made.
The lemon doesnt emulsify, it's the egg. Un fact, lemon and acids un general tend to cut the emulsion.
W/o emulsions are rverything. One of my best sellers. I put mine n the freezer after blending to cool it 2 add preserv.
What's your favourite w/o emulsifier? I've been enjoying Neocare P3R (shop.skinchakra.eu/en/Cosmetic-Lab/Emulsifiers/Neocare-P3R.html) lately. It feels like there's 10 o/w emulsifiers for every 1 w/o one!

Hi Marie!! This video was so helpful, I made my first successful emulsified body butter by watching this and reading your blog posts. It looks like a few things went wrong though, and I’m doing some research to figure out why. Maybe you could offer some insight? The first thing is that I substituted e wax NF for BTMS 50, I was working on two formulations - one that uses btms at 10% and the other at 4% (I’ll be making the 4% one tomorrow). I also used Optiphen as my preservative. When I double boiled the water and oil phases, the oil phase solidified really really quickly, so I added it and I barely had to use my emulsion blender to get it to the right consistency - it was nice and smooth though. But once I added the optiphen the formulation turned a little clumpy, nothing crazy but not smooth. It had no thick chunky lumps but it’s just not smooth until you rub it in your hands. Any advice? Thanks so much!!!!💕
I really like the Shea Body Butter from the Body Shop, but it is hard, not silky texture in the tub, is there a difference between how that one is made vs your formula? Also, in this video it doesn't look like a lot of shea butter is used, and a lot of other ingredients, is that normal? Are most body butters made with many ingredients? I've only just come across your channel, so I will be watching more videos and learning!

The Body Shop product uses more solid fats that I do, which will make for a harder final product. I was aiming for something softer & creamier, resulting in different formulation decisions.
Some emulsified body butters will use lots of butters, some will use more liquid oils; it really depends on what they're going for. Different blends and ratios of fats will create different skin feels.
An emulsified body butter will need around this many ingredients (this is a pretty simple formulation), while an anhydrous one can have far fewer (though it will have other challenges, like melting in warm weather and getting too hard if it gets too cold). Unfortunately, due to the complexity of perfumes and the resulting labelling, it's impossible to break down perfumes from the ingredient list since the perfume ingredient will only ever be "parfum" or "fragrance" :(

I was wondering if pH testing is necessary in this recipe? With water and a preservative added it would probably be safer to ensure the cream is at the right pH level so the preservative works? Thank you!
Hi! I designed this formulation to be beginner friendly, which is why selected Liquid Germall™ Plus as my preservative. It has a very broad pH range, making pH testing unnecessary (from a preservative efficacy POV) if you make the formulation as-is. If you have a pH meter and can test and adjust it to 4.5-5.5 that is great for skin health, but if you don't have one you don't have to-the preservative will still work and the pH won't fall in an unsafe-for-skin range when made as written, though it may not be ideal for skin.
I can’t wait to try this! Couple questions: 1. Can I use Optiphen Plus instead of Germall? 2. Can I use essential oils instead of fragrance oil?
I wouldn't use essential oils. They can give you itchy rashes or allergies at worst 🙈

I wanted this formulation to be as beginner friendly as possible, so I chose a preservative that has a very broad effective pH range so we don't have to test. It is generally a good idea (and a must if you use a preservative with a narrower pH range), but I wanted to get newer makers started without complicating things too much :)

I love love your videos Marie.Thankyou for these! I have a small issue I need help with. I made a small test batch and fell in love with this body butter. I then included it in my shop by adding different scents and colours and it turned out impressive. I made a big batch and stored it but after 2 months, I randomly opened one jar one day and it was spoiled with growth in it. I am not sure what was the issue. The butter was in an airtight jar but was placed in a rom where there was too much light I admit and probably hot too. I use Isopropyl alcohol to sanitise my jars and take immense care while formulation to not introduce any contaminants. Please help! I'm not sure what was the exact reason of the spoilage and any help would be highly appreciated
My best guess is that because this is a 100 gram formulation, the preservative used and amount are intended to keep for a shorter amount of time. You probably need a different preservative and /or different proportions for long-term storage. Or you can always freeze it until needed.

I found that reducing the glycerin to 5-10% dramatically lightened the skin feel of the product, so you might try that.
There is no need to add starch; that's a strategy typically reserved for anhydrous formulations because our hands are tied a bit by the anhydrous-ness. If you want to make this formulation lighter, simply make the oil phase smaller. Click the video linked on the end screen to learn how to do that 😄
Can Marshmallow root powder be used?

Yes you can! Keep in mind what kind of extract it is, glycerin based, alcohol, oil, etc. if you want you can swap a big percent of water for a hydrosol, it’s like a plant extract but you don’t have to worry about extra ingredients
I am only just getting in to wanting to make natural and healthy products, and getting away from all the chemicals that are harmful for our bodies. Some of the ingredients listed I've heard other yt use. But some I haven't. Of course now I can't remember which ones, other that the some kind of alcohol. I created several deodorant formulations when I was a very new formulator, but they all used baking soda, which I have since moved away from due to its high pH. I've been working on some alternatives ever since, but haven't published anything yet. I want to make sure I share something that works!
@@HumblebeeAndMe Oh yeah, no baking soda, it really hurts me big time - I live in a city (Chennai) where it gets super hot and without deodorant it's really difficult and all store-brought ones give me rashes so I've been wanting to desperately look for natural alternative.
I have heard of people and recipes replacing the baking soda by - using zinc oxide, or magnesium carbonate, or diatomaceous earth instead. Haven’t tried any but am planning on researching. I have used bicarbonate of soda for some years using only half of the quantity of any recipe I have followed. Sometimes added Aloe Vera Gel in the mix to sooth and protect skin. You can make your own aloe gel too. And will need a preservative.

Before I watch the video I’m gonna comment water. They use water because it’s cheaper and they can make way more on their ROI. Pure butters are way more expensive all alone in a jar. So what they are making are just thick creams. It’s far from a body butter.
😂😂 you are right though. They add more water than all other ingredients and call it moisturising. I almost bought one recently that they call body butter but when I went through the ingredient list, there wasn't any kind of butter in it. Nothing, no butter in it at all. Only emulsifiers and oils. Shame on that brand, I thought.
Thats not a body butter, thats a lotion. Both use similar ingredients, the only difference is consistency, if its not super thick and stiff, its not a body butter.

- Xanthan is not required for success, and this is designed to be a very simple, beginner-friendly formulation, so why add an ingredient that isn't needed?
- There's no need if you use this preservative; it has a very wide effective range.
- Again, not required, and I was trying to keep the ingredient list as short as possible. If you watch more of my videos you'll see I use it in almost everything that's a bit more complex :) You can definitely include some in this formula and I'd recommend it if you choose carrier oils that are fast to oxidize.
