Looks like wonderful quality but bummer there's no instructions. I have a cheap Toyota crawler I need to build that has no instructions and I've still not gotten around to it. Can't wait to see this Jeep finished. Have you ever built a Tamiya kit? They are fun old school kits and Tamiya's instructions are second to none! I just published a couple videos of out Tamiya Lunchbox van. The second one I follow it with my Autel EVO drone. They Tamiya kits are beautiful though they are not real high performance. You should check out my Lunchbox van video!

@@RCGirl yeah, you should try the Lunchbox! It is fun and just stick with a brushed motor. I also have a Durga. I used to have a Hotshot 2 likely before you were born. Also and Astute and Stadium Blitzer. Kyosho are also really fun and better performance than Tamiya. Thanks for replying!
Some times the pinion gear the drive shaft bolts to is slightly in too far into the ring gear. A lot times like on the axials when you mount and bolt the drive shaft it will pull the pinion gear away from the ring gear giving you a smoother mesh. Try putting a small Allen wrench in the hole of the pinion gear grub screw hole give it a small pull while rotating the axle seeing if that grinding/clicking goes away. Congrats on the new rig!
Just take it slow, and take care to pay super close attention to detail. You can do this, I can tell you from experience theres a certain joy to watching something you built from the ground up come to life and run under its own power. Not sure what I'm looking forward to more seeing this run or seeing that look when you first see this build come to life! It for sure will be a fun ride.
I have this 2 speed transmission coupled to a 550 brushed, best purchase I made since the RC crawler itself, but its a mission to put back together though after cleaning. Put some portals on them axles, they look great.
The hobbywing axe system is amazing.. I had a go on my friends scx10 last weekend with the AXE system .. looking forward to following this build.. please keep up the amazing work you do 👌👍

Wish I saw this before getting a Raw Builders Kit. But, as usual I will end up replacing most of the stock parts with upgrade parts. Already ordered two KYX axles. I might get this 2spd transmission.
i have just gotten this same body, its going on my scx10 II. do you have a video of how you put this body together, it looks like it takes screws, but my body didnt come with any screws or instructions for assembly. love you video , very helpful and you make it fun

Very cool! Looks to be very high quality, probably close to 1500.00 all in I would guess. I haven't messed with ground vehicles since my traxxs nitro truck. Yea I know, showing my age, lol That would be a lot of fun with fpv, and a head tracker, of course I think everything should be fpv. I mostly fly race/freestyle 5in. quads, but anything rc is a blast.. Can't wait for part 2!
Oh cool! This kit looks fun, i did see the Pro MT build with the sensored setup and it inspired me to rebuild my old savage xs. The Scale crawler market is getting better isn't it? so many different companies offering these platforms now :)

You mentioned servos. So my suggestion would Triple 5 REEFS RC. The most smooth and powerful servo out there (my opinion) not to mention it would totally match this rig because its black. Looking forqard to the build.✌✌👍👍
im new to this hobby and i was thinking of getting a nice servo for my trx4 defender. i have upgrade the motor and esc to the combo pack of Hobbywing Axe r2 550 3300kv. Im looking at a servo to best match it. Would the Savoc SB2292-SG black edition be a good fit? I know i dont use it up to its real potential but i like it because it may match the hobby wing looks nicely. Will it fit my car? is it a good choice?
Hey RC Girl,, did you find out any smaller pinion gears for that gearbox, and so yes, could you give me some specs or a link where to buy? I got this gearbox, but in first gear my car is a littlebit to fast and there is minor kogging on really slow speeds. I tried a bigger motor (3660), but that was too crazy and i broke the pin inside the last gear. Now running the F540 V2 which feels perfect. Thank you!

Haven't checked the drag brake options yet, I'll make sure to mention that in my next vid. The gear ratio is similar to the trx-4 - I asked them that same question haha! 1:1 and 2:1
Could you please open up the trans and axel so we can see the inside? I would like to know if it is all metal geared? Bushings or bearings? Sintered or pot metal gears in the axels? Adequate grease/thread lock?

What happened to your thumb nail? You might want to check out the Holmes hobbies 139.00 servo. Svh 500v2. This servo is a beast at 500in oz. Of torque. With no bec required. Or reefs triple 555. This servo you will need a bed circuit.

i have my HPI Crawler King i will never put brushless, i want my transmission to live more brushed, my is using 45t 540, for me is capable, with brushless the transmission will not survive to much will have short live, even kevin talbot use brushless and the transmission of the trx4 can't withstand that power. i now why i'm saying
great video rc girl;) check out reef's rc triple5 servo's, freakin awesome!!! the strongest most durable servo I've ever used, way over 500oz of torque! I've killed MANY servo's in my Bomber and since putting in the reef's last summer, it is still going strong.
@@RTmadnesstoo I don't want the axe system I don't use brushless in my crawlers and I wouldn't trade anything for a 250$ brushed system when I can go get a castle motor and ESC for 150$, that axe system is insanely overpriced.

Yeah some cutting was needed, but I found a good workaround that looks decent (i think!)

I have the same body(love it) in red. I painted mine with rust oleum (bonds to plastic) works great and a lot cheaper
Do you know if the TRX 4 sport is just a different body, or is it a whole new truck?
It doesn't have diff lockers or 2-speed so it's a different truck
