  • Welcome to the 4th and final episode of my Xtra Speed XS01 all-metal crawler series! In this video, I take the final build out on my backyard crawler course to see how capable it is on the trails. I also compare the suspension flex and turning radius to my Traxxas TRX-4, and do a high-low gear speed test.
    The Xtra Speed XS01 1/10 scale 2-speed crawler from RCmart comes partially assembled, has mostly metal components, and a 2-speed transmission. This kit includes the chassis, but you'll need to get electronics (motor, ESC, 2 servos - steering/shift, lipo battery/charger) and a 12.3'/313mm wheelbase body.
    CHECK OUT THE PREVIOUS EPISODES:
    Episode 1 (unboxing): • NEW 2-SPEED ALL METAL ...
    Episode 2 (assembly/electronics): • XTRA SPEED XS01: Build...

    Disclaimer: The XS01 kit and body was provided to my channel by RC Mart at no cost for review. Proline provided the Impuse beadlocks. I purchased the rest with my own money. Views are my own.

    Just like 1/1 scale. Most of the stuff that allows a Jeep to be suitable, comfortable, and practical for the public road holds it back when the going gets gnarly off-road. Your "hard body'" is perfect to scale aesthetically, but its body's weight hobbles it when the going again gets "gnarly". A stunningly beautiful truck!

    This look absolutely amazing. Can’t show it to my 12 year old daughter, she is obsessed with getting a Jeep. I recently got her the blue ecx barrage, and you saw the picture of the 10 year olds pink barrage.
    Maybe this should be dad’s truck?
    Your an inspiration to a generation of young girls to get into the hobby!!

    Great video, looks like a cool rig and a very good build! Regarding the TRX-4, you need to set the endpoints correctly, it should have a lot tighter turn radius and if you switched to a cheap china servo on that as well you have to set endpoints to get correct steering ;) Keep up the good work!

    • @RCGirl
      @RCGirl  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input. I don't think I can set endpoints on the TRX4 servo if I'm using the stock transmitter. Haven't found a way yet, unless someone else has advice!

    This is first video I have seen from your channel. Will definitely watch the rest of the this series and more.
    I bought a hard body jeep from Amazon that said it would fit on an SCX10 II chassis and of course it didn't. I like the chassis a may order it from RCMart but their shipping costs are ridiculously high.
    Thank you for a great informative video.

    Something is seriously wrong with the trx4 turning radius. Those are excellent out of the box some of the sharpest. Now you did the brass mods on the trx4 sometimes the drag link crashes into the diff cover too early. I would look into that. For the Moab Jeep are the knuckles adjustable? Looks like the Jeep needs a few more degrees of positive caster angle. Negative will cause the sidewall to want to steer into the ground also giving you added side wall flexing. If you can’t adjust the knuckles you lesson the distance of your upper links paying attention to not increasing your drive shaft/pinion angle. For the torque twist the VP scale antirock sway bar look rad in the rear. Or you can add little spring preload and some heavy wait oil in the one shock. The Jeep turned out beautiful nice review thx!

  • @Nordmann61
    @Nordmann61 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you for a nice video as always!
    Absolutely capable for the most demanding terrain you can throw at a scale-trailtruck. Long wheel travel, softly sprung with grippy oversize soft tires tackle most obstacles. Low point of gravity for the chassis, balanced with good weight distribution with a well laid out motor, driveline and battery also help.
    The chassis look good with its realistic looking metal axles, I cannot help to think about if this chassis with fit a Land Rover Defender D90 hardbody? If the wheel base centers the wheels in the wheel arches of the D90 hardbody, it would be very attractive with the D90 hardbody in british racing green, hmm....
    Cheers.

    How are those Ovonic batteries treating you? Just seen them last night and was thinking of putting in an order for a few of them.

      They're great, I still recommend them to people. Ovonic (cheaper) and Gens ace (pricier) are my go-to lipos.
