Being in California for 30 years born and raised in San Joaquin valley right away from highway 99 in central California Merced California to Fresno you could always see when they gun the throttle after a full stop.... making it look like a steam locomotive.... but I've never seen one with a blown turbo like that.... I've just watched a video on TH-cam that BNSF (aka Burlington Northern Santa Fe) also blow's out fire like a damn fire breathing dragon is insane. I herd BNSF has powerful trains... but damn. I normally thought that some of the smoke was normal.... but I guess when they outsmoke a big rig that spells enjin trouble
I was pursuing the history of locomotive BNSF 4097 smoking 🚬 on a rival channel three years later in 2023 between St Paul & Seattle. Of course, not being American proves to be a challenge looking at the logistics of this locomotives immediate history.😮
YOU BETTER BELIVE THAT. THIS IS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE OF THE RAILROAD TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR LOCOMOTIVES!THIS UNIT IS BEING STARVED FOR COMBUSTION AIR!IF LEFT LIKE THIS, IT WILL CATCH FIRE!
NOT ONLY CAN THIS COST IN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS, BUT, IT CAN ALSO CAUSE THE CREW ,THEIR LIVES! ANYTIME YOU SEE A LOCOMOTIVE FAILURE LIKE THIS, REMEMBER THIS, IT CAN EXPLODE AND CAUSE THE OTHER LOCOMOTIVES TO ACT UP AS WELL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! BECAUSE THIS UNIT CAN CAUSE A DEADLY CHAIN REACTIONON. IF IT DOES EXPLODE, IT CAN CAUSE THE OTHERS TO EXPLODE AS WELL! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN RAILROADS SUCH A BNSF ,FAILS TO TAKE CARE ON THEIR LOCOMOTIVES!
I am amazed they did not take locomotive off line
Blew a turbo on a C30-7 one time. The Colorado State Patrol didn't like it!
that's when you should look them in the eye and throttle up
GE embracing their toaster reputation to the fullest!
You know it!!

Dear lord those Bnsf Locomotives are working really hard
GE has *soot!*
Wish I had been there.
Wow. I have never seen a blown turbo put out smoke like that before. Looked like there was a steam engine in the consist.
It was a crazy catch!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much smoke come out of an engine with a blown turbo on any locomotive from any video.
Your back! It’s been 2 years!
Yeah! Going to upload some older stuff I've been sitting on.

@@jantheman9999 many thanks for your video 📹 🙏 👍
This videos should have way more views!
I agree
Yes, I know. Trains *should* make soot, just like they use to do!
“… though I think that much soot isn’t a good idea…”
Он что на угольной тяге ???
I didn't know that GE made oil fired steam locomotives
😄😄😄
Surprised they don't shut it off as soon as they can
Apparently, the crew didn't have any alarms or warnings, so things were OK on their end!
Uh, is that OK?
Probably not!!
You can tell that this locomotive is in deep yrouble! Filthy, dirty air filters can cost the railroad thousands in repairs!
That is so true
