I'm hopeful the breakpoint cameo though shows they'll use him! I would love for them to flesh out the story enough that they can do a session with ironside and record 3-4 games worth of narration at once in case we lose Ironside to age and health, although I doubt their story/narration team can work that far in advance. It's a shame this series has lied dormant for almost 10 years after Blacklist, which was an excellent game IMO. There's nothing quite like Splinter Cell: the dark environments, the music, Sam's banter with Lambert and Grim, etc. Who knows how the remake will turn out after recently losing its director, but I have fond memories of playing through this whole series; Sam Fisher is definitely one of the best gaming protagonists ever.

But that makes me wonder why didn't they follow the same recipe with Blacklist.. Blacklist was a good game but it went really far from the original Splinter Cell series.
The new Sam Fisher was cocky and arrogant, he treated Briggs like a dog and Charlie like a servant. The music sucked without Amon Tobin, that pause menu theme gives me a headache.. Co-op wasn't that good either, there were too many missions were you just defend from waves of enemies instead of doing proper missions.

After the remake of SC1, i think we need a Splinter Cell with a story with full stealth. A story more about steal informations for stop enemys plans or conspiracy before they know what's happen to they failure.
Imagine for example finish the campaign with nobody in the story know that a spy was behind everthing. So the player will feel like a real ghost like a spy should be.
And Sam Fisher is very old. So make sense he choose full ghost than close combat enconter to finish the mission. Because of his age he dont have the same agile, speed and strenght that he have in his old past in missions.

One of the things I hope they bring back for new Splinter Cell titles is shadow paths and sneaking.
The cover to cover movement from Conviction and Blacklist just didn't really fit with the type of game that Splinter Cell is, where it is based around stealth and is essentially a modern ninja game. It felt like they tried to do a mash up of the action from John Wick and the storyline pacing of 24. The first 3 SC titles forces you to take your time and think your actions through, and punishes you for being brash and impatient. Plus it was fun as hell to be in pitch black and be able to stand a foot in front of somebody's face without them knowing.
The cover to cover movement system and detection makes much more sense for levels that take place in broad daylight or fairly well lit areas but not so much in dark places. I think a mesh of both would be nice, but kind of default to the stealth; keep the same idea from Blacklist where you had the campaign missions but make them more stealth oriented, whereas the optional, side, and co-op could have the missions that happen more in daytime or dusk.
Another thing would be to have tge weapons loadout not be such an H&K jerkfest. It was disappointing in Blacklist where there were plenty of H&K weaponry but they didn't even have Sam's iconic SC20K or the underbarrel attachments and all the little gadgets to go with. It would be cool if there was a bit more you could customize and use. (It was disappointing that you could use a MAC-11 but not even suppress it even though there are suppressors for the MAC-11, like the SIONICS suppressor. It would have been cool AF to rock it Snake Plissken style) Also, more ComBloc loadouts would be cool. Stuff like the Stechkin, AS Val, vz. 61, or having Bramit suppressors for the AK's. It's a stealth ninja game; having loadouts that would be more readily suppressed would fit much better.
Also, this is my thought personally, but it would be cool if the followed other Splinter Cell agents, as it was mentioned in Chaos Theory on the Seoul mission that Sam isn't the only agent; there are other agents deployed by Echelon. Maybe have a game where it follows one of the other agents, or even better, have missions where you play as a VORON agent and see what it would be like from a different perspective.

Happy 20th anniversary to Splinter Cell, one of my favorite game series of all time. Such good memories of playing the games when I lived back at home, especially the first game as that was always my favorite. It was also the second game I ever got for the original Xbox. It was nice to see the developers talking and reminiscing about their memories and love of the game and I'm so glad they showed some art concept of the remake. It looks really good and it seems like they are really trying to make it great like the original.

Ubisoft, we absolutely need the old classic Splinter Cell games on the current systems (PS4/PS5, Switch). Splinter Cell 1, Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory and Double Agent (Version2) would be so great as a collection. This was done with Metal Gear Solid too, so what are you waiting for? These are the Splinter Cell games that fans want. And that would be a good collection to tide you over until the announced Splinter Cell remake finally appears.

So long as the remake keeps the true darkness and the slower pace it should be great. Blacklist was a good turn back in the right direction but it is too easy to just run through some levels without issue. I always enjoyed how the original trilogy plays like a tense puzzle of pathways.

I don`t care if they couldn`t get Micheal Ironside to do the voice. They should`ve waited then. Cause he`s Sam Fisher. He was in Ghost Recon: WildLands. And it was perfect.

Ubisoft I am a big fan. A friend of mine had shown me the world of splinter cell back when we were young kids. I wonder if he would have liked my thoughts on what I’ve enjoyed most about the games.
-the coop to me was amazing, loved playing it
    - the sounds of the equipment, the closeness of the sounds. Being 3rd person over the shoulder and the silence to perform better in stealth made the small subtle sounds bring life to the game. The boots squeaking, the zipper sounds, the Kevlar armor and how it interacts.
    - the freedom of approach in infiltrating a compound as Fisher or coop team would be interesting, prior to infil the player(s) can analyze the schematics and choose specific routes that could be accessed or restricted by having progressed specific equipment or not. R&D could give you options in equipment but you have to decide what is priority first for your tactical approach and this could open routes of approach but restrict others. -Equipment based progression system for the highest possible tactical espionage. (Jammers, grappling hooks, optics, camouflage, beacons, mines, incapacitators, diving gear, vertical wall scaling gear
-CQC progression for approaching different scenarios. The ability to disarm 1 enemy from a guarded position, progressing to two then three.
-equipment and armory customization for different scenarios, players briefed on a mission can assess if the terrain calls for a snow matching armor set to reduce visibility or to equip cutting edge invisibility cloaking armor with limitations(ghost recons armor only worked when standing still).
-traversal in climbing walls through windows, ladders, under tables and interior designs, rooftops structures and compounds, the verticality agility
-if a time based or points based competitive coop mode could be added that would bring a more competitive aspect and have for a lot more online heavy gameplay. Coop story and coop competitive modes.

The most underrated entry to the series is the original Xbox version of Double Agent. The XB360 version is the one people remember because it was also the PC version (that was utterly broken on launch). The Xbox version of DA was on the Chaos Theory engine and retained all the game play elements from both Chaos Theory and DA, including the timed missions where Sam had to sneak away from the terrorist cell and do missions for Third Echelon while not alerting the hostiles. The Xbox version of DA's story line is also more fleshed out than the X360 version that is truncated and missing vital pieces of back story on why Sam takes the mission in the first place upon believing Sarah is dead.

Cautiously optimistic. The first trilogy of games set the bar so high I'm not sure it can be topped. Everything about them (except for some BS moments with guard AI) is basically perfection. The humor/one liners, the music, atmosphere, etc. Even the tie in with Ghost Recon 2's storyline regarding the USS Clarence E Walsh and the Korea Incident was a really good Easter egg that I hope can be expounded on in the future (I have a few ideas)... Bottom line: I am REALLY hoping that this remake does the franchise justice - and hearkens back to an era of simpler times, when games were FUN, innovative, and actually stretched your skills.
Oh yeah, and where Microtransactions didn't exist.
(P.S. I do really enjoy Blacklist, but in any future installments, please bring back the Scroll Wheel Walk Speed, Sound and Light meters. That is what Splinter Cell is all about - STEALTH.)

I like the game set in real countries with conflicts that could happen tomorrow. If updating for a modern audience just means changing the Georgian information crisis to something that would fit today that's fine but do not write the characters like blacklist with the goofy humor and awkward pauses. I want this to feel like it could actually happen not an action movie.
