3:33 dude that was 10 years ago. today ubisoft has just a boring modern day story. i loved desmond and they destroyed the series with his death because they had not enough ideas. the only good thing about valhalla was the ending with desmond and im exited to see what they do next with it bit when the game is sooooo long and boring again i will not buy it either. But hell yeah we got mirage rayman and valient hearts back.

Assassins creed was always about the story. Everything they talked about in this documentary was about what they loved about the old ones.
The good written characters, the assassin templar conflict, the creed, the question of the sense of life, trust, love, revenge, anger sadness and happyness this are the feelings i have when i play ac 1- unity
when i play the new ones i just feel bored of doing the same over and over again. i could look over that but just if it has a good story which is also not the case.
Ezio was the father i never had and his journey teached me many things about my life, that my real father didnt. every character teached me something with their journey but with syndicate the golden age of ac was over. the story became pointless and everything was just there to play in an historical setting but with just a very boring reason.
Templars evil take back city. thats it. Were is the passion. where is my beloved story.
This is what ac is about. And thats why we hate the new ones. Also because of the stretched and pointless world but no we hate them because of the bad written story.
Im so happy that darby is back because he is the only writer that understood what ac is about (only valhalla was bad)and i thank him from the deep of my heart for creating revelations and embers.
gameplaywise i dont care the only things i need are social stealth and good pacour but both were also not in the new games.

My sister was doing a sociology project about the politics of revolutionary War Era America around the time I was playing Assassin's Creed 3. So after every time I unlocked a new historical entry in the codex she'd read it. She scored a 99 out of 100 in it. These games will always have a special place in my heart.

See how a beggar woman blocked your path and wouldn't let you go until you moved her, that blew me away back in like 06-06. Played every single mainline entry in the series. Learned so much history and had so much endless hours of fun. I thank this series for that

Dude, what a concept Ubisoft built, to experience the history in a way no one has ever thought of! Combined with the different elements, Assassins'-Templar Conflict, The Sceptre, etc. The first three games in the Series, The Trilogy, laid a very strong foundation by which th current whole AC Series is running properly! Loved the Documentary!

I remember vividly, my sister had bought me the first game knowing that I had a love for historical settings and video games. At the ending of the first game, I remember just sitting there, not saying a word. Blown away by the story and how sucked in I had been. I called my sister right on my couch and told her how much I had hated her for getting me HOOKED on a video game. I remember rereading magazines that she bought me that had articles about AC2 how excited I was to play these games. Since that single day, sitting in my recliner with my xbox controller in hand, I would be a fan of this series until the end. This showcase has me so excited for all of the new things to come. I'm not one to attend the big events and get into cosplay, but I just think that goes to show the reach that this game has, touching all types of players and fans. Sitting on my phone playing AC Rebellion while watching the Ubisoft event last week made me realize how big a part of my life this game has become. I cant wait for the future.

The first game(s) were more compelling to me, because of the science fiction angle of the Animus, and the precursor race who's secrets was being discovered. Sure, that was wrapped up, but AC where you just go back in time to get a new backdrop for a game is not remotely as deep. For me, the whole aspect of discovering the future by discovering the past resonated. Just going back to the past is more shallow.

It speaks highly of the company including criticism and acknowledging the criticism that the games haven't included parkour and missed the brother hood and assassin's creed atmosphere and feeling. It means they listen, they wanted to try something different and now it seems like they are going back to their root. There are not many companies like Ubisoft. They also mentioned the importance of the gaming community around the game discussing details of the game etc. which many other companies seem to forget the importance of. I actually stopped playing assassin's creed after origins, and never played odyssey and valhalla because I felt like the game missed the core part of the game franchise and it wasn't for me. I am hopeful for the new game Mirage and I will actually try it out and give them another chance because of this mini documentary. You've earned my respect. Impossible to imagine that actually caring about your fanbase actually makes them stay and support you. Disney is a company that could learn from this.

People thinking that "2 hours" is the norm for documentaries is hilarious. - It's not a movie. Often documentaries are about 60-90 hours. Sometimes even around 45 minutes. Rarely do they run 2 hours or more. - They could, but I feel like for this franchise it would have to become an episodic kind of deal to cover everything in a digestible fashion.

I can’t believe they included a spoiler about Basim and Valhalla. Very inconsiderate to players that haven’t played it that far yet. It doesn’t matter that the game was released two years ago. Bad form Ubisoft.

11 minutes for 15 years of games?! Seriously, you should talk to Santa Monica Studios on how documentaries are made. It's a cool little video, but extremely disappointing.

AC games don’t have to be 100% accurate to be fun. But recently we have so much artistic freedom, it can’t be called AC anymore. Bring back the DNA of the franchise - historic accuracy, high stakes in real life, modern sections of gameplay in real world and parkour.

  • @MazGho
    @MazGho 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I'd like people to think about that "historical accuracy" bit more, because they mention that many times here. Just personally as a fan, of anything, I get really disappointed when people don't learn the lessons from these massive, albeit fantastical, worlds/creations/stories. It's mentioned a lot, and I'm not talking about whether a building is still standing or not, but especially when you here a lot more nowadays, that history is written by the victor, I don't think the "how this event played out exactly" bit is so important because the overall concept that Assassin's Creed and the Animus teach is that history is very subjective, not an objective observation when it's really a continuous recounting of events. Even, as much as he irks me, Vidic brings up the "oh it doesn't match what you read in a book or what your history teacher told you", and he makes a very good point. How do you really know what happened hundreds or thousands of years ago when you've got a lot of broiling personalities and world views conflicting and crashing upon each other and the world?
But all in all, I do love how this documentary and everyone in it captured my feelings and love for Assassin's Creed.

For me this is one of, if not the best franchise that existes. Yes the game lost a bit of focus in some games to the main lore, but overall the global ideia of the lore is there. The one thing that I can say is to the lore of present day, where we had some of it with Enzio, and now that connection is a bit lost, and I think is important too. But the essence of it throw out the history is amazing. Man and the theme music is one of the best there are, goosebumps.

I'm so HYPED for Mirage but as they've lied to us before about a "return to form/its roots" with Valhalla I'm not holding my breath, from the CG trailer it gave me heavy AC2 and Origins Vibes so I'm excited but taking a wait and see approach this time. I don't care for a Japanese Creed too little too late should have came out ages ago Ghost of Tsushima gave me the feudal fix and I'm going there for that type of content and with the plethora of Eastern games I'd rather see an Aztec, Indiana (as chronicles was a good start deserves an AAA budget) and an African Creed.
I'd say I'm a purest as I started at AC3 my personal favourite and ended with Unity the original release really took a toll on my interest in the franchise the fantastic parkour, great stealth and interesting revamp of the co-op element still wasn't enough to win me over it's broken and buggy state plus the story to me was very lackluster and predictable Origins came around and I was all over it, Egypt is a gorgeous setting and the world is immense in detail and stuff too do I love Origins however don't enjoy the later RPG entries as they become Grindfests I hope Infinity has a balance if they are RPG based. If they did a "Return of Retonhnaké:ton" I'd be there in a heartbeat whatever the cost reasonably £45-60.

How often does someone have to say "especially in the early games" to underline that it is important to go back to what made the first games great - story and characters, not necessarily open worlds.
