Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory was way ahead of its time. Everything from graphics to gameplay was masterful and the soundtrack by Amon Tobin was unreal. Demands a remake!

Nowadays people be like "Don't ruin my single-player games with unnecessary co-op! Go play Call of Duty if you want multiplayer!" Then in the same breath, "Couch co-op is so dead these days, why are developers so lazy 😩"
Keep in mind IF they implement co-op in the campaing remake, Ubisoft WILL shut it off down the road when its not longer proitable probably won't provide user friendly way to keep the service up.
The fact they spoke about how lighting was used in the original games gives me hope for this remake. Still a little skeptical, but this discussion was great.

It's objectively the best if we assume that Splinter Cell was meant to always be a sneaker stealth game instead of the stealth action of Conviction and Blacklist.
The Chaos Theory coop mode was amazing. When playing with your partner, you had to be careful about talking to each other. Too loud and the enemies could hear you. The cool part is you could whisper from different ends of the level to distract enemies
You've obviously never played Thief. The original two games came out well before the original Splinter Cell, yet do literally everything better except graphics. They make Splinter Cell's level design look like a narrow corridor in comparison. After playing Thief, it's incredibly difficult to put up with the SC series' restrictive gameplay and level design, inconsistent mechanics and dumb AI. They also have a vastly more interesting setting than SC's modern setting. "Nothing like them"... SC is just Thief but done incompetently and much later.
Played them about a month ago and got the platinum on chaos theory and pandora. Would have the original 5 times over if this one trophy wasn’t glitched out 😕
Yeah, while Michael Ironside is still able to do it, they should of kill Sam Fischer off in a honorable way, ending his story... THEN go back, and remake the original.

That first shot through a net hanging and seeing the light was incredible for Xbox, dragging bodies to set up explosions that took everyone out at once was insanely difficult but so fun. Classic

It's so nice to hear the people working on the Splinter Cell remake understand how much the game was about moving through shadows. So many stealth games just don't even use shadows properly as a way to sneak through and blend in and focus on avoiding any type of encounters at all costs.
The fact that we haven't seen a legacy splinter cell game since Chaos Theory is mind blowing. There's a clear space in the market for a truly tactical stealth game.
Moderate your hype. Don't let them abuse your nostalgia. This is still coming from modern Ubisoft. They don't deserve your trust, and have an ongoing record of consistently bad titles now. Don't let yourself get so hyped it crushes your heart if they rush this game or totally botch it.

My taste is Gaming at a younger age was always mortal kombat , Mario , ratchet and clank ,through my teens it was guitar hero , halo , call of duty . Now as an adult with my series x im Having a great time with more single player story focused games . I’ve gotten into the souls series , re discovered Skyrim , Witcher , original Mass effect, metro and now is Finally starting to play these stealth single player games . Wish me Luck
You should definitely at least play the original trilogy. It's some of the best stealth games ever game imo. Alongside the earlier MGS and Hitman games
Those games are fun, but u wouldn't consider it a true splinter cell compared to the others. Gotta have patience though, so it might not be your thing.
My favorite splinter cell is double agent for original Xbox, not the 360 version. After beating the game you had the option of starting a new game armed only with a knife. You could find smoke grenades to use but you couldn't pick up any guns. And beating the game with only a knife was very rewarding. Original splinter cell is my next fav and then chaos theory, and then blacklist then Pandora tomorrow.
The era they’re talking about and the 1990s was golden era of gaming, amazing games releasing all the time, early days of the internet before all the undesirables got online, etc.
Splinter-Cell Conviction was so underrated. Sure it focused on action/gunplay more but it did have those exciting stealth levels, AI was better, and that Interrogation scene in the bathroom is a Instant CLASSIC!
Take all the time you need to make this remake right! We can wait! Until then, we will keep playing the masterpiece that is the original series! 😎 P.S. I recently started blacklist and even though it's not Michael Ironside, it's still a fun installment. So if you're holding out because it's not our original Sam, give it a chance. 😁

Playing these games back then as a teenager was a blast. The first 3 games are classics !
