Well this explains why my friend in his type r LE was 2 seconds slower than my 21' type r last track day. He was on the cup 2's and I was on hankook rs4 tires. I expected it to be the other way around.
This is very unusual. My Type R from 2019 gets much better cornering speeds with the Cup 2 vs original sport Contact 6. Entry and exit are around 5 kph faster on a 100 kph corner. Tremendously improved grip at lower speeds as well, puts the power down very easily. Does the limited edition come with the RO1 specification cup 2?
@@JoshuaTootell tires were listed for reference, the cup 2 is a faster tire. This is the point I was making, the overly stiff suspension is unsettling.

I have the Civic hatch sport, and the method to fully turn off traction control is more involved than just holding the button down. The m2 is literally the perfect car the value on these cars will skyrocket in the next 10-15 years because it is probably going the be the greatest m car of all time
Yes they will 👍
Hella ugly tho :/
@@almightyalan8942 Face only a mother could love. And boy do I
Seeing thomas's excitement with the m2 cs, it makes me want to drive one so bad!
Damn, didn’t think I’d be called out like that for watching on the toilet. These guys are clairvoyant.
For me this is like a comparison between a M2cs and some things.
Put the name type r in ya mouth u silly goose
Idk man the M2 is absolutely awful looking
@@LeoMkII u r completely wrong
@@RuggedCoyote69 nah, the Honda isn’t even worth mentioning in the presence of an BMW M2 CS 😂
Just noticed that the print on Thomas' tshirt is the instrument cluster of the Lancia Delta Integrale! Is a review coming soon?!
When you were introducing the cars and yourselves in the start I was really expecting a third shot of carson silently and stoicily driving the bmw
Another fun review... Please don't be irresponsible like many car reviewers that make comments to say one is less or more for you when you have no intent to buy either... Great to just give unbiased view and why you would choose based on your taste without claiming a winner or lose.
What the hell! I wanted to see a drag race between the M2 and MACH 1! SOMONE GET THEM A MACH 1
They could use a 2003 Mach 1.
Sounds like the suspension tuning is the problem, not the tires.
@@JoshuaTootell tires were listed for reference, the cup 2 is a faster tire. This is the point I was making, the overly stiff suspension is unsettling.
@@cosminmihu9963 I haven't done any track driving with the continental tires as I hear they roll over very easily.
@@johnss2k434 they do roll quite easily but my biggest issue is they started delaminating on me. The tires only had 50 miles on them and after 1 track day on a 1.4 mile course, there are threads showing on the edge of the rear tires because chunks of rubber are missing.
I have the feeling that the only reason they even included the Mach 1 in this episode was to subtly bash Ford Canada 🤔
Awesome episode, made my day! Love both cars but the M2 CS is an absolute dream car
Was literally sitting on the toilet and thought there was a camera behind me
Just like me! Went back from home, taking a dump, opened YT and saw this notification 😅
Another great vid. Thomas is like a modern day Jermey Clarkson and James is May and Hammond in one.
1min into the video and I must state this. Throttle House is the standard for car reviews." that's it
I have the Civic hatch sport, and the method to fully turn off traction control is more involved than just holding the button down. Theres a sequence of holding the button and pushing/pulling the ebrake button. I believe the Type Rs are the same. Honda is really reluctant to have TC fully off in their cars and its a bit weird lol.
Big respect for heel-toeing even though they have auto blip features.
I'm so impressed with the mach 1s time it's like it didn't even move 😂
I would love to see a cross-over episode with throttle-house and carwow. Just the best car channels on the net.
This iteration of the M2 is the only M car I'd consider trading my e46 M3 for
Mmm keep it! My buddy has had his e46 for a long time with different setups. He is now running a turbo, with sequential shifter. Timeless ride with soo much aftermarket support.
M2Comp is utterly sick too.
The Mustang is the route I’d go. I love the Mach 1. And Civic Type R markups are insane. On auto trader, I came across 3 Type R LEs, and all 3 were asking 87-90k.
I’ve been trying to find a Mach 1 but almost all dealers want 10 over MSRP. Not as wild as the type R but still an issue.
You’ll find one but you just gotta keep on making them calls not all dealership are greedy
@@yungactivist Most are. Even regular Type Rs are being Marked up pretty high. I found a few used ones from 2018 with like 30-40k Kilometres on them and they were literally asking MSRP for a new one. But when you go look for a new one, they are asking 55k.
@@raiden824 The car market is insane right now. Especially with the Chip shortage.
Thats alot of cash for 306 hp..I like the type r but there not worth over 53k at max.should start at 39.5...great top end and handling but that price you gotta be over 400hp for me
After the Viper ACR video I thought - how will the Canadian/British dudes top this video? Aaaaand they have almost done it. Even with the lack of hooning, which is, of course, slightly unfortunate. Greetings from Latvia and well done once again!
Nice save on the brake fade! Kept it on the track like a pro.
I haven’t seen one of your vids in a few weeks. It’s good to be back. Missed you guys.
Not only Cup 2 has good grip.. it has very good temp management.. never had to let air out on my GT4
I'd love to see your take on Porsche Cayman please, and can be had for a similar price as these 3, it has more cargo space too. :)
They did review the GT4 and Boxster Spyder last year.
@Frugal Family Living ur car and ur account name do not match
@Frugal Family Living oh OK, that's understandable
I love how crazy Thomas is about the m2cs
Put a cayman GT4 on this track, I’m really curious what time it could pull off
Your best video yet! Great work everyone!
Man all 3 are awesome cars. Great video
That intro really hit home in a whole new way. Lol. (He comments while sitting on the can)
I've got a 2020 type r, and I would love to see you guys drive a refreshed R with Cup 2 tires, and then see how much faster it is than the LE on the track
Loved the intro, mainly because I was actually doing the exact same when I saw it 🤣
Wow that into was way too accurate. I hate how well you got me but it totally deserves a sub. You earned it
Amazing video guys. I’d give my left nut to drive any of these amazing cars. M2, just wow. Mustang looks and sounds amazing and for everyday road fun the Civic Type R.
M2 CS all day . It's just straight ,🔥🔥🔥
Im im love with this channel!!
They’re driving cars and we’re watching it.. that’s fun 😂😂
I haven't driven a stick BMW yet, so no real experience here, but it's interesting that a lot of people complain about the manuals in their cars being rubbery and not that great, but I haven't heard any of that about the M2 CS. Does it have a better feel than other Bimmers? Or just overall better, and so that gets overlooked?
Hey guys. I literally own the Mach1 in this video. I have the same badge # on my dash M2283. It was the press car and Straight Pipes beat on her too. But I maxed out the Ford warranty with no deductible and F%&$ LOVE IT!
