@@alexnutcasio936 perfectly describes the difference between a brochure nerd and an actual enthusiast. The stats are just part of the car itself, there are far many more aspects to be considered such as fun, feel, quality, looks etc. If stats were the only consideration then someone might even argue that a soccer mom crossover is sportier and better than a 60s sports car because a crossover might have a better 0-60. The numbers are just half the story.
One more thing I like more in the 2018 M2 is the headlights. I personally always loved the double round headlights, it always made look BMWs apart from the other German competitors. On the BMW M240i the headlights to me look too "Audi". Anyways. Thank you guys for the content, I really enjoy your shows! Congrats for the M2! Drive safe!
I definitely agree! I don't necessarily dislike the new look, but didn't BMW start the "Halo" daytime running light look? Idk why they would move away from it. The look is so synonymous with the brand now it seems. It would be like Mustang ditching their iconic tail lights.
exactly.... everybody talks about the rear, but the rear, at least on video and photos is not offensive to me, whilst the front!? those headlights with a single halo and the triangular air intakes in the bottom of the spoiler, ruin it for me. I think they made the right decision to make the 2 series apart from the 1 series but the execution didn't succeed. It should have been a little bit less expensive, less high-end materials to support that, obviously, a little lighter if that was even possible when using that platform from models above the 2 series and despite the fact that they didn't use the huge kidneys, the rest looks a bit like the Chris Bangle designs from a 15/20 years back. Tooo fat and geometrical! Bottom line, it's good but I would still rather have the previous gen. Cause let's face it... infotainment? materials? those only count on a daily car, they are less relevant for a second and sports car. At least this is what people usually tend to in Europe. Cheers everybody.
@@Kronos0999...did Chris Bangle start the process in the early 2000s? Is BMW evolving his designs or are they trying to distance themselves from that era? Also, what is BMW's five year/10 plan for design? As companies move toward EVs, they need to blend current designs with future designs to keep customers interested and set a design presidence...
This is what the FnF generation and young gamers(who don't even drive irl) don't understand. Not everything about "speed" and useless 0~60 numbers. It's about how the car handles and driving feedback.
The F87 M2 is seriously one of the best looking cars BMW made in recent history. I can’t find an angle that doesn’t look good. I really hope I can have one of these in my parking stalls one day! Thomas made such a good choice
I'd say the major ingredients a used BMW M car is always missing is reliability and cost of ownership. Still a nice car though, as long as you have the budget and time to maintain it. The way he treats it in this video is, I hope, not the way he always drives it or it won't last a year.
@@Beer_Dad1975 Luckily the N55 OG M2 is pretty solid and devoid of major issues so far in its lifecycle. That being said, I agree with the anxiety of owning an M used, which is why buying new with their cheap extended 5 year warranty is an attractive deal for new over used.
"I think I bought the right car, for my purposes anyways". Probably the best thing I have heard on a car review in a long time. There will always be faster, but when a car makes you smile and brings a joy back back to driving, that is the car to own, no matter what to is. If you are on a fence about M240i vs M2 and need AWD then don’t sweat it, get M240i, you will not regret it. This car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
im deciding between getting the 230i rwd or the 240 awd, i love to drift when its rainy, and im not really used to drifting awd. Do you think its easy to drift it in normal cornes when the road is wet with the rw bias? thanks in advance!
You can drift it some but you would be better off with a lighter rwd 230i if that is your passion as long as you don’t mind giving up the horsepower and all year around use. In my case I did want awd (we get a lot of snow in Wisconsin) and a part time car was not an option for me.
@@banzai2438 thanks for answering so quickly! Ill propably have to get the 240i cause ill have to drive it in snowy condotions aswell. As long as its driftable to some degree, im fine :) the 230i would also almost cost me the same amount of money so 240i it is I guess 👍🏼😅

@@AK47s4EveryOne Maybe on the Track. The B58 in the M240 responds much better to just bolt ons than the N55. To outperform the B58 you have to get the S55 in the M2 Comp if you compare tuned cars.
Yeah the OG M2 will be an item in the years to come. It looks just the way a special project car should look, coming from the M division. I mean it has M4 suspension under the body, it has the DCT from the M5 and has a track spec N55 engine with the trick oiling system from the S55. Plus, it also has something most car do not, a glorious howl from the quad pipes.
the M2 is garbage. If you want to own the slowest M car go ahead and be my geust buy it. The M240 also comes in diesel which is far superior to the gaser. As for the M2 being special, you are completely wrong. The 1M is the special car and will go up in price the M2 will cotinue to be a joke.
Your manner is a little crude and your opinion is a bit suspect but be that as it may. My only real thought on your comment is that…..you made your comment.
Coming back after a whole year, and I gotta say, I have changed my mind more and more. The new M240i is actually gorgeous in person. I’ve only seen 1 or 2 in my entire year. So they are pretty rare sight to see. And they look agressive and muscular AF
The old m2 looks significantly better, but at the same time the old m2 is easily one of bmws most elegant yet aggresive, timeless designs of all time. However, that being said, i must agree that the new m240i looks very good. People overblow how bad it looks. Although tbh i think the m240i looks significantly better than the new m2

I think we are kinda entering an era where drag races and track times mean nothing for how fun a car is. I hate saying that because I always complain about how little power a miata and brz have...but honestly I think once your car goes under 5 seconds to 60 the rest doesn't matter besides its fast enough and the only real factor from there is feel. I'd rather drive a 5 second fun car than a sub 3 second hypercar that just digitizes the experience
I remember reading an article that claimed the perfect power level for enjoyment on public roads would be between 300 and 400 hp. I think thats probably true aslong as the car isn’t massively heavy
@@zXPeterz14 agreed. Way more fun to drive a "slow" analog car at 9/10ths than some 700hp at 4/10ths, half throttle, and is completely digital and techy
This YoutTube show is fantastic, their camaraderie feels so entertaining and genuine, the same kind feels you get from watching the old Top Gear show with Jeremy, Richard, & James. I hope it lasts for many years to come.
I think this is the first time we’ve ever seen James’s drifting face. Looks sorta like his girlfriend just asked him why he can’t come to date night. You guys are the absolute greatest reviewers on this platform. All the accolades to both of you, and the whole team behind.
I think cars have hit a point where they’re all fast and they’re hitting a point where they’re all competing over specs no normal person will attempt on the road. So all the other bits and bobs like technology, comfort + fun are a HUGE factor for me now.
There is a huge amount of depth you are completely missing out on. Starting from mentality of the people who build the cars (Japan/Germany/US/UK/Italy etc), to history of the companies and what they represent and what they strive for in the future, to the way each car feels when you actually sit (and then drive) in it - taking into consideration other points I just said - and ending with such "trivialities" as to how much a certain company can achieve based on their budget, (perceived) level of performance and quality, reliability, etc., etc., etc. What you are saying is basically - if there are ten outwardly equal types of bread at the grocery store, I'll take the one which has the packaging paper decorated with gold lines, instead of silver circles. Based on that, a more viable option might be a train or a bus - or start to gather knowledge and understanding of what you want to drive... Unless it's just a device which happens to be on wheels for you, but then be prepared not to end up in a satisfactory relation with that "device".
@@JurisKankalis you’re talking like a car enthusiast. I am your average consumer. @@PukingPanda you make a good point. I think the automotive industry and most that cover cars tend to focus so much on going fast and doing donuts. When in reality, the vast majority of people that buy cars don't care about any of that stuff. They want something reliable with good tech.
A think you make a very good point that most people don't need the best performing car. All they need is a car that get them from point a to b. However, there is many people out there that want to have fun in a car and even have a form of connection to it. That's why they say cars are "babies". A lot of people care for them like that. Congrats Thomas ! As an OG LCI owner for the last two years, this is an amazing and fun car! I agree with the exhaust. I upgraded to a M performance exhaust with carbon fiber tips and it has be awesome!
Same here, I bought a long beach blue OG M2 the only thing I wish it had is a 6MT, I spent 6 months looking for one with a manual transmission but I never found one so back in May finally I made the decision to get the DCT, it may not be as fun as the manual M2 but it still is some hell of a car
Your videos were actually part of what actually convinced me to get a M2C. Feels like the last of the nice looking BMWs and I just like the F87 design. Manual as well of course. With traction control off the car feels scary, like I have to tame it. I drive it every chance I get.
In ten years: 1.) the M cars will have held their value 2.) the 2018 gauges will be held in much higher regard in terms of aesthetic design. 3.) The manual transmission will be more highly sought after. 4.) the blue color will be more desirable then the "purple" of the non-m car. Good purchase Thomas.
@@codskilclanchannel6420 Yeah but it does have the rear lights of a Fiat Tipo and the front of a Wish Miata... I don't know how they manage it but BMW has been consistently churning out increasingly uglier cars than their previous generation counterparts.

I've given up on the idea of trying to have the fastest car, there is always a faster car. So, it's about enjoying what you're driving. Performance numbers are part of that equation, but not the only thing. I remember driving the 2020 M235i and didn't think it would ever be mistaken for a rear wheel drive based, though, and while I can't speak to the new M240i, I'm not sure it really would feel RWD when pushed.
Turner or some company like that has software for x-drive cars where BMW prevents "drift mode", to re-enable the feature and make it RWD when you want. I'm sure the new M240i will qualify for that.
Super review. Thanks you for not comparing everything to the e46 M3. I enjoyed my OG M2 for the most part. It drove excellently once it was moving. Like my F80, it NEVER hooked up no matter which tires it had. The interior should have been better---eclipsed by the M240's. So, I bought an X3M Comp. It solved everything, but now leases for $1400/mo. and not matter how insanely fast it is, it feels SUV-heavy. That said, I miss cars. I miss cheap leases. For $60K loaded w/ xDrive and performance wheel pkg, the M240 is magic (I'll yield a few hundred lbs for xDrive, because I live in the North Pole). Plus, even as a brand new chassis, unlike the X1, i7, it has a shifter and iDrive roller. Also, an active suspension, excellent interior, M boost, gets awesome mpg, has autopilot, has the real B58. The single drawback is two doors, and only two dash trim options. My next car will be the M240, because I hate the M3 grill and the S58 mpg (10mpg in sport+), and the $60K M240 leases for about $800. Wish I could afford an M8 GC. But alas, even a new $90K X3M Comp now leases at $1400 (Thank you Janet Yellin). It also gets 10mpg in Sport+ mode. Forget that. I'll buy a house instead, and never carry adult passengers in the back seat.
I have been waiting for the moment Thomas bought an M2. You could tell every time he drove any iteration of the M2 he just loved it. As an OG M2 owner, welcome to the club!
I wrote it under another video and I am writing it now here. The level of your production, editing, script, presentation and the chemistry between the presenters heave reached the best years of TOP GEAR with the Clarkson-Hammond-May trio. Seriously!
I have a 23 M240i and I absolutely love it. A few people who have been able to dyno these cars have said they got around 380 to the wheels so they severely undersold this car.
Man, you guys just keep getting better and better. This may be your best work yet! Thanks for doing what you do. Signed, a longtime fan down in Atlanta, Georgia.
X-delete allows you to switch to full rear wheel drive. If given the change between any BMW with an X-drive option, I'll choose it every time over the RWD version.
but the m240i has no LSD so you will be slower in every turn and cant get the power down, when you tune it. the x delete makes pretty much everythings worse. same weight, slower cornering and not traction. just get a M with a proper diff instead.
@@FutureGameLightI'm referring to the utility of an AWD system. If given the option between two nearly identical cars with the only difference being x-drive, I'll take awd every time. You get the best of both worlds at the expense of some added weight. In my opinion, the extra utility of having awd makes up for the extra weight.
BMW straight 6s gets more powerful with every generation. Doesn’t even the X3 m40 push 4.5 seconds to 60? I still prefer the looks of the older 2 series. 8:36 mark had me lmao. 🤣 This was a phenomenal episode, TH team.
BMW's B58 is a straight-up gem of a motor. Every car they put it in becomes a proverbial monster. Yet somehow BMW tuned it to be docile when not driven hard, as well. It's a magical combination of refinement and excitement.
They're getting more powerful but at the cost of slight turbo lag. Comparing my N55 m135i with tune vs my 444HP S55 M2CS, the latter doesn't hit hard torque until about 1k RPM higher. The N55 has nearly instant torque in any rev, the M2 needs to be above 3k, though it does have a higher red line. Not a bad compromise for over 100HP/100ft/lb+ more without a warranty voiding tune though IMO.
Never test drove an M2. I did test the 2022 bmw m240ix and loved it. I will be ordering one in purple in time for spring. What an engine! So powerful & responsive.
Thomas seems so genuinely happy during this entire video, you can see it in his eyes. Such a stunning car. So happy for him to finally have one of his own! ❤️❤️❤️
That was definitely an awesome episode. The whole time near the end I was wondering why James was so fixated with the rear seat headroom, but then I realized hey, he’s just a considerate dude. 100% Canadian now.
Nice choice Thomas! My vote is to return the front plate to stock position. Also, not sure why BMW continually bloats their models as time passes on. Grows on the outside, at the same time reducing interior room. Curious choices. My E39 M5 weighs around the same as a new 2 series. Insane.
Congratulations Thomas! Also just got an 18 OG M2 in LBB in manual earlier this year (from a A90 Supra) because of your reviews from 2017. Ironically, it's an upgrade from the BRZ because it's practical, manual, and still has analog aspects but more power and a stronger motor. An excellent choice! The M2 starter pack is swapping out the charge pipe, I'm also getting the same Apex wheels (for track, non-staggered) in 18" but in anthracite, because the bronze just doesn't work with the lighter blue. They are still doing a group buy on it until the end of the year I think. It needs nothing else but bitier front pads. Check out Apex Nurburg's recent kinematics mods for suspension choices. Absolutely love it. I hope you love yours! Congrats again!
Totally agree. Can't afford a BMW but I absolutely love(d) the brand. The only decent looking car they've put out in the past 3 years has been the M5 CS. The M3 and M4 would be fine without that hideous grille. Even the new M2 looks god awful. It looks like they styled it after a Mustang of all things.
The quality of yalls videos just keep getting better and better! Love this channel. The purple pocket rocket looks awesome. Nobody buys a coupe for a backseat. Its a non factor for me.
I took delivery of my new M240 xdrive 4 weeks ago and I’ll admit the old M2 is prettier (new one is a dog imo). On the track your M2 is amazing but realistically 90%of M2 drivers don’t track them so as a daily driver the M240 is much easier to live with. You were lucky to get such a perfect used example. Most of them have had a hard life. My advice is just buy both 😊🇬🇧. Great upload guys thanks.
Congrats on the acquisition Thomas! I hope you enjoy yours for your use case. Another super fun video. Also had no idea the new M240 was quite so... corpulent.
My buddy and I both did track driving this year. We each have different year and style SI's. He has a 2008 SI sedan. I have a 2009 SI Coupe and we were out there track driving and the most common car that we saw was the M2 and the M2 competition. All of the m2's performed very well, if not the best of the day and that was going up against Corvettes, Camaros mustangs, a Porsche boxster, Porsche Cayman, and a turbocharged Miata. There was some good competition out there, but all the m2's did very well and they may even have placed one, two and three that day.
you're tripping, if m2's aren't hardcore modified, it's all about drivers (or you're on a cart track lol), in no universe it could keep up with track version of camaros/mustangs/porsches, and especially with corvettes. But yeah, it could keep up with 2.3 ecoboost and 2.0 camaro
@@maximborodyuk3773 This was an SCCA event at PPIR here in Colorado on July 28th which ran from 2:30pm-9:00pm and sorry but the M2's dominated the day and by a wide margin. 94 degree day made the track temps very hot but we still had fun even though we got our butts kicked. The corvettes lost, the Camaro SS lost, the mustang GT lost, and the Cayman lost that day.

Looking to buy the new m240I very soon. Fresh warranty and the new tech are the reasons why im going for the m240I. Also the colour is the biggest reason why I want it since day one lmao.
I love the 2 series so much. I went with the m240 2017 because b58, awd, and cheaper. Still love the looks of the m2 because I think the only thing my car is missing is the width of the m2
i came close to doing it but i wanted an actual M car, didn't care for the awd, the wider looks alone is the reason j love my car a lot more, happy for you tho, but i didn't want any regrets and if i got a m240 vs an m2 i've sure i would've eventually gotten bored of it, plus they dnt offer manual! 😭 PS i just picked up a 2018 M2 in black last week , best choice ever, a little pricey but that's what M cars come with
This is what I am thinking about my next car. I have researched the F82 and A90 Supra. Now I have discovered this neat little M240i car with the x-drive option. I think my next car in the future will be a 2017-2020 M240i because of the price, AWD option it has the B58 engine, and it has the extra car space I like.
You made the right decision mate! Im still shocked about the fact that the rear seats have less space, since the car has growth (same platform as 3 & 4 series). I love my M2c and was wondering in 2020 if o should pull the trigger or wait for the next gen, so glad I didn't :D I think you're gonna love it even more when you have upgraded the Exhaust and the tires (i love the PS4S). Cheers mate! PS: the both of you make really entertaining Vids, keep on!
Great video! I really was surprised that an adult couldn’t fit in the back seats comfortably. Sad to see that they didn’t carry that over in the new generation as I had to do a road trip with three adults in my last gen M240i and we were all fine. Even had to go off road for the last 30 minutes and made it without getting stuck (so happy I had the LSD). I don’t see ever getting rid of my last gen M240i unless a M2 comp lands in my lap. Curious to see what they do with the new M2.
I usually don't take much note when I see a Beemer on the street but the first time I saw an M2, I said "I want it." The proportions are perfect on it. Looks small without looking being Miata small, but mean enough to no blinker merge with authority.
"I'm really not impressed with the Continental tyres, they're very mediocre"... Are you saying that The straight pipes are recommending us to buy bad tyres? 😁
Felt like a direct attack lol. To be fair, it's good to be able be to say things like that. Contis are generally good, even for the price, but rarely the best.
Currently drive a 2019 M2 Comp that I ordered with a manual. Love every minute. Really the last of the somewhat analog BMWs. Would love a CS but they didn't come in Long Beach Blue.
Congrats on the best sounding modern-ish BMW, Thomas! I miss mine so much. I had the M Performance Exhaust on my 2017, but would highly recommend a Remus as well. I took mine autocrossing, and if yours is on the same stock Continental 3 tires, then they're absolute junk compared to a Michelin PS4S. Need an Extra Throttle House episode featuring all your new mods on the M2 (exhaust, suspension, wheels + tires)! Cheers from Vancouver.
Warms my cockles to see you love the M2 so much. From one enthusiast to another - cheers! There is a reason they’re called the Ultimate Driving Machine”!
How are you two not absolutely killing it with the numbers you pull to your TH-cam channel, enough so that Thomas can have any BMW he liked and James can have 20 Miatas??
2018 M2 owner here. I ordered mine with the MP exhaust with the little bluetooth controller. Definitely scares the neighbors worth it. Skip the MP steering wheel unless you like thumb cramps. Mine shipped with the Continentals. Swapped over to the Michelin PS4S after two years and it was transformative to say the least. I wish I had driven it straight to the tire store from the dealer at delivery. Congrats on the M2. Identical spec to mine. Looks like you lucked out and landed one without a sunroof as well.
Welcome to the M2 club. As for the plate, get rid of the side plate, it just does not look good. Get the carbonio plate holder, it goes in the center, easy to remove, attaches to the front mesh. Also if I want 0-60 I get a tesla, I have a comp but would still take an OG over the m240 any day. Yall need to put the comp against the m240, I bet it still gets beat by the 240.
@@mkvB58KING comp pulls in the mid range and levels off at the last few RPMs. From a roll I bet the comp takes it, but not so sure fro, a dig specially in cold conditions you going to be fighting for traction. Also if you are tracking the car which maybe the only place the plate covering would make a difference (even though even then I don't think it would), you remove the plate anyways so it really does not matter).
The M240i would have deserved its own review. It’s a great little car. Feels like they had to talk bad about it so the M2 looks better, which it wouldn’t need. I’m glad bmw still produces fun little sport cars
Congrats on the M2, Thomas! I owned an '18 M2 myself for nearly 4 years. Agree on the OEM Conti is garbage - poor traction, rough ride and road noise. I ended up going with 18" Apex EC-7 on Conti ECS and they improved over OEM setup in every aspect. My recommendation on exhaust is start w/ a Fabspeed sport cat. It adds a throaty sound and some hp/tq to boot. All aftermarket axel backs for the M2 have some level drone. Good luck on your M2. P.S. ND2 Miata is a fantastic car (I own a 30th AE myself). Don't you dare tell James to sell that his!
Thomas, Try the New Michelin Cup2 Connect tires(OE tire for M2CS) for your M2, it's MEGA, the steering response is mental, also get a M2C steering SW flash, it feels more natural than OG M2 steering.
The OG M2 even looks better than the new one. I would have gone for the new M2 because of the better engine performance, but I just don't like the looks
I don’t care what type of new tech they put on the new m240i or the upcoming M2 Comp. Doesn’t matter if they are faster. I will still go for this M2 or the current M2 Comp. without even thinking twice about it. The design is just gorgeous and timeless.
Congrats Thomas! Beautiful car. I’d say M2 all the way as they nailed the looks as the proportions are just spot on. Add to that a usable back seat and manual then there is no argument in my eyes.

Lol that Windows XP error
Yuri from @TheStraightPipes: "What is the recommended Continental tire for it?"
Throttle House: "None of them!" 😁
Never test drove an M2. I did test the 2022 bmw m240ix and loved it. I will be ordering one in purple in time for spring.
What an engine! So powerful & responsive.
Congrats on the new BMW M2 Thomas.
I also can't wait to see you guys compare your M2 to the Next Gen M2 when it comes out
Thomas seems so genuinely happy during this entire video, you can see it in his eyes. Such a stunning car. So happy for him to finally have one of his own! ❤️❤️❤️
6:54 I can't stop replying that shot...Perfection
That was definitely an awesome episode.
The whole time near the end I was wondering why James was so fixated with the rear seat headroom, but then I realized hey, he’s just a considerate dude. 100% Canadian now.
Thomas you are a true bmw m enthusiast. Happy to see a person likes his car so much..keep going
Films are getting so so sick boys, keep it up!
Your intros are so cool and the content is on another level, for that you just gained yourself a new subscriber.
The M2 is an absolute beauty compared with the new 2 series. As a BMW owner I demand to fire the current design team completely.
As a BMW owner, I second that notion as well #F36
5 series 2022 is very beautiful though, i think m5 cs is the most beautiful sedan right now
@@LvivFan too bad it has mk 7.5 golf headlights
I've never been a fan of the BMW past 2010 but now they are just plain ugly. They used to be so classy.
Any Giulias?
@@maximborodyuk3773 This was an SCCA event at PPIR here in Colorado on July 28th which ran from 2:30pm-9:00pm and sorry but the M2's dominated the day and by a wide margin. 94 degree day made the track temps very hot but we still had fun even though we got our butts kicked.
The corvettes lost, the Camaro SS lost, the mustang GT lost, and the Cayman lost that day.
@@CruiseControl1 probably all drivers except m2's was like first time at the track ever lol
You can clearly see for yourself what m2 can (not much) and what m2 can't do with simillar drivers on different tracks.
Give it a lil eventually they fall apart quicker than a vette and specially a miata..
Looking to buy the new m240I very soon. Fresh warranty and the new tech are the reasons why im going for the m240I. Also the colour is the biggest reason why I want it since day one lmao.
But it's worse.
PS i just picked up a 2018 M2 in black last week , best choice ever, a little pricey but that's what M cars come with
This is what I am thinking about my next car. I have researched the F82 and A90 Supra. Now I have discovered this neat little M240i car with the x-drive option. I think my next car in the future will be a 2017-2020 M240i because of the price, AWD option it has the B58 engine, and it has the extra car space I like.
@@bikotheanimator6169 yea it’s super great I still love it
The camera work at 18:03 was PERFECT! Such a good complement to the writing and timing of the joke. Well done guys.
Really love em all but the og M2 has a special place in onu hearts. Can't hate that beauty.😍💯
Excellent fun video guys! It made me subscribe, you guys are good.
Love it guys! Keep up the good work!
You haven't even watched the whole video yet... It's a minute old and your comment is 2 minutes old....
@@erikhuisman2487 don't be mad I beat you to it
I usually don't take much note when I see a Beemer on the street but the first time I saw an M2, I said "I want it."
The proportions are perfect on it. Looks small without looking being Miata small, but mean enough to no blinker merge with authority.
More like mean enough to get sideswiped not using a blinker
Congratulations Thomas! Hard work truly does pay off. Thanks for the great video boys!
I love these guys, they make content that spoils all of us lmao. Thanks for the content and continue making all of this enjoyable content : D
"I'm really not impressed with the Continental tyres, they're very mediocre"... Are you saying that The straight pipes are recommending us to buy bad tyres? 😁
I was looking for this comment 🤣
Immediately thought of that after his laugh
@@max12337 same haha
lol they are mediocre not bad. Michelins will always be the best
May be faster but it doesn’t look nearly as good as the 18 🤷🏻♂️
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The M240i is no longer a poseur car.
It certainly doesn't look as bad as the M3.
Why did they get rid of the classic bmw lights in the new design?
@@ridgelineenjoyer1517 They’re trying to hark back to the 2002 with this 2 Series. That’s why it only has a single headlight.
@@patrickbateman6885 Well they aren't doing a very good job at it
Congrats on the best sounding modern-ish BMW, Thomas!
Thomas that is a beautiful M2!! Congrats on the purchase.
Comp should win, the S55 pulls so much harder up top than the B58, depending on track conditions of course.
@@mkvB58KING comp pulls in the mid range and levels off at the last few RPMs. From a roll I bet the comp takes it, but not so sure fro, a dig specially in cold conditions you going to be fighting for traction. Thomas also needs better tires, PS4s would fair much better than whatever crappy continentals are on there, the PS4s are amazing but switching to my winter setup, my comp is always fighting for traction
If you cover the front mesh with a plate that blocks air to the intercooler
@@Sabretooth-Biggavel not enough to make a difference. We are talking like 30% of the tiny place is in front. It covers about the same amount as the plate holder BMW actually makes and gives with the car. Plenty of people are using that carbonio plate holder without any problems what so ever (go look on bimmer post).
The Bmw 240 is for street . While the M2 is for track, adn for authentic BMW M division Enthusiast.
I like that M240i!
The new 2 series coupes are hideous. That alone ruins the upgrades the car has by being new gen model.
Thomas got the perfect spec OG M2! Congrats!
Absolute quality as always lads 👏👌
I see you with that jab at the Continental tires... ;)
Beautiful and wonderful daily driver, the M2. Congratulations!
The OG M2 is one of the best M cars ever ! The semi digital dials also is pretty damn cool
It’s OG not oj
@@jliu98 Yeah , 😂 . I'll edit it
Thomas, Try the New Michelin Cup2 Connect tires(OE tire for M2CS) for your M2, it's MEGA, the steering response is mental, also get a M2C steering SW flash, it feels more natural than OG M2 steering.
Thomas congratulations, A perfect Car u selected. I ❤️ manual transmission.
The OG M2 even looks better than the new one. I would have gone for the new M2 because of the better engine performance, but I just don't like the looks
It’s not a M2
There is no 'new' m2 yet. This comparison was against an m240i
Congrats on the new car Thomas. Really looking forward to what James moves to next.
Yes the new one is faster but that doesn’t always mean it’s more engaging. You definitely made the right choice. Thanks for sharing with us all.
