This is the clutch we used for this install. It handles 600 ft lbs of torque, but is SUPER SMOOTH. (It has solid hubs, so the trans is noisy under 2K in 4th gear.) www.kohrmotorsports.com/product/exedy-stage-4-twin-disc-clutch-kit-1996-2010-ford-mustang-26-spline-8-bolt/
@ okay so it don’t over it’s dose not over extend I’m little worried to install this 56 because don’t wanna have more issues but what kinds of throw out bearing did you go with I wanna run this set up but need little more info
6:13 You wired up the ground , signal & +12 to the oem harness. Bowler recommends not to do this and to get a fresh +12 signal & ground. Any issue with going against Bowlers recommendation on this wiring setup ?
my app wont connect does that mean i have it wired wrong? also the sensor on the left side of the shifter i believe its the speed sensor clicks in increments of like 3-5sec when my ignition is in accessory mode too scared to turn on the car also the reverse lights won't turn on when i put it in reverse in accessory mode as well.
Not sure about why your app won't connect. Check bluetooth settings, etc. I remember having the same sound when in accessory mode as well. It is normal. That's the reverse lock-out solenoid cycling. Go ahead and start the car and it should stop making that noise. If all else fails, call Bowler. They're helpful.
No, I didn't have any increased road noise, but the solid hub clutch certainly made the transmission noisy in 3rd and 4th gear. I didn't measure runout on the bell housing, though that would've been a good idea.
Hopefully you see this I’ve been looking around trying to figure out the reverse lights. You said in the video brake lights did you mean the reverse lights and also where do you splice the wires at cause I was under the impression you had to wire it all the way back to the reverse light. Im just very confused cause not everyone has made an install on a s550
im really debating if i should rebuild my MT82 or just tremec swap it. i got a '22 mustang gt and this trans is just awful for someone like me who likes to drive fast and bang through gears.
@@Mustang-Geek ive heard people say thats a good fix. mount it to the trans, get a short throw, new clutch, and other little bits and its pretty much fixed. ill try that out, thanks mate
Since my engine was stock, I figured I didn't need to do that. However, I'm building the motor now, so I'll check that and add a video to show that process!
@@Mustang-Geek yeah I’ve been reading that’s what the problem is, I haven’t installed mine yet but I’m gonna be looking for a fix most likely from what I’ve been hearing.

Amazing and I agree its a great trans. Could you do a video on how to do a fluid change on these? I'm a green DIY'r and their is very little how-to's for this trans. I'd greatly appreciate it!
You keep making buy new parts for my mustang hahahahahaha. I bought the Ford performance radiator, ford performance engine oil cooler, ford performance fan, ford performance transmission air scoop. Now this is next. 😁
Sounds like someone will soon have to go and replace the rear main seal soon. I mean you didn't do it at this time or so it seems and you know it will be leaking very soon

Glad to help!
Why didn’t you measure the throw out bearing
It's hydraulic and self-adjusting.

You skipped most of the install. Which bell housing bolts...
The kit came with all the hardware, if I recall correctly.
Did you have the slave cylinder spacer on the MT82, and if so why?
Yes, the factory had it there. No idea why, but that's they way Ford did it.

Will this fit in the 2010 mustang?
I think so. Check with your transmission kit supplier just to make sure.
Excellent video guys!

Did you measure runout on the bell housing, and use offset dowel pins?

I'm sorry. I meant reverse lights, NOT brake lights. For tips on installing in an S550, call Modern Driveline 208.453.9800

I really like the MT82 with a good shifter. Get a shifter that attaches t the trans like an MGW.

No, but I adjusted the ratios in the PCM to reflect those of the Magnum. Details on that will be in an upcoming book!
