I came specifically for the pens but stayed for all of the interesting accessories Thanks so much for sharing. I am glad that I did not skip through the video.
I finally pulled the trigger and bought my first Estie (black gloss with gold trim). I ordered it with a medium nib. Alas, I was extremely disappointed by the scratchy nib and sent it back. I will try again and hope I will get a smooth one. The general consensus is that these nibs are very smooth, so I guess I got the lemon in the bunch. Externally, the pen was gorgeous. I just wish that all pen sellers would check their pens for tuning before shipping, the way that Appelboom does on request. (Needless to say, this was not an Appelboom purchase! I should have gone to them first!)
Your experience is the same as mine. Nib quality is 50/50. I have 6 Esties. When the nib is good, they are awesome. For the bad nibs, I am replacing with nibs purchased separately. So far so good.
Hi! What a great video! your voice is so pleasant to listen to and your collection is lovely! I have one Esterbrook, the Estie Sparkle in Montana Sapphire with a fine nib purchased from Fountain Pen Hospital whenever the pen was initially released. It is beautiful but I wasn’t really into fountain pens or journaling or planning at the time. Fast foreword to now and I started down the pen rabbit hole in earnest this summer! I am still trying to figure out what I like as far as size and nibs and features and colors. To be honest it feels so overwhelming! I was really considering the raven when it came out but had already bought a much less expensive matte black one that is just ok. Then I was considering the King of the Night pen but got turned off by the price. I really like to switch pens up for the seasons, I do that with everything; clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, perfumes, etc but then feel overwhelmed with the options. I like that you have found Esterbrook and are sticking with it! I will look for other videos you’d made of your own collection!
Ugh, I love the FWP collaboration pen. Keep looking on the second hand market with no luck! Esties are some of my favorite pens-I have 8 🫣, including botanical gardens, Seaglass, and Raven. I also have a journaler grind from Gina S, but my favorite of all time has to be Scarlet with my Red Dragon ink from Diamine. It is a perfect combo with a medium nib.
Ooh, the Scarlet is so beautiful! I don't have any Esties in that color family (yet, lol!) I hope you find the FWP collab! Mine sold pretty quickly. I love how the diamondcast sparkles in that pen!
Gorgeous collection Lori! 😍I just got my first Estie this summer in Sugar Rush (DPS Exclusive) from Appelboom and now I get why people love them so much. Aside from gorgeous color, the pen is super comfortable in my hand, love the size and warmth feel when I journal with it. I got mine with a SCRIBE grind and it is amazing. Shared the first unboxing of it on my channel, but I should really film the nib in action more to show its properties, because it’s amazing. I’m eyeing the Botanical Gardens and Honeycomb next, oh and the Quirky Leaf, too. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lori, I loved seeing your beautiful Esties- but even more I enjoyed that you had a story with each pen💕. And they do seal really good! I have forgotten one and it wrote after a longer time without problems ☺️ The tortoise will be a perfect match to compliment your collection- I’m curious on your opinion on the mini Stub
what a gorgeous collection you have! thanks so much for sharing! 💛 i don’t have any Esterbrook pens yet but i plan to get the tortoise Estie from Scriptus (the Toronto pen show) this year!
I was going to guess the tortoise! I don't have an Estie yet - I will be picking up the tortoise with gold trim as soon as it's back in stock at one of the Canadian stockists. Based on what you showed here, I think I'll want a journaler nib. Thanks for sharing your lovely collection!
Hi I cannot find where you mentioned the Motern notebook cover … just wanted to say I ordered one for my sterling ink notebook. Just received the Motern and love it! Thanks for sharing info and vid about it!
I have 2 Esterbrooks. I have an Esterbrook JR Beleza which is a limited edition. It had a 1.1 stub, now has a fine nib. My favorite is my Essie in Seaglass with the palladium trim. It has a journaler nib by Gena Salorino of the Custom Nib Studio.
gosh what a good looking collection! i cant decide which estie i want to get as my first on, but with fall around the corner i may spring for the honeycomb
You have a beautiful collection. I don't have any of these pens, but I like The Raven and the white best. I like the new 70s Back to the Land series. I might get one of those if I could make up my mind on just one of the colors. What is a "journaler's" nib? Also, what is a "mini stub" nib. Great video, Lori!
I was thinking that the Tortoise is missing from your lineup and would fit in very nicely with the color scheme… and then you said it. ;) I got the Quirky Leaf with the Mini Stub nib and I love it. Also, really looking forward to the other pens in the Bungubox collaboration. But I don’t know if they‘ll be able to top the flower pen. :D
Can you please do a check up on your fountain pen collection like what is your newest favorite out of every company you have?😅please. By the way I went to my first fountain pen show in Virginia the DC pen show and it was amazing. I got a pelican M, 400 in white tortoise and a travelers notebook in Olive and then a washy tape and an ink.
Hi there I love watching your videos. And I am wanting that bungubox so bad but they are out of stock. Do you know if they tend to restock items like that?
Hello!!! Where can I find the Piston Fill Converter for the Esterbrook The Raven pen? Also, where can I find your exact Esterbrook with Bumble Box collaboration pen?
I have 2 Esties--the Gold Rush Oversized in a turquoise/teal and the Petrified Forest. My husband is a gold prospector, which is why I HAD to have the Gold Rush, and it is still the most expensive fountain pen in my collection! I bought the Petrified Forest, even though orange/yellow are my 2 least favorite colors, because I live in Arizona! Will I buy more? Probably, but the price-point is a bit restrictive, which means I have to save up for them and sometimes they sell out before I can pull the trigger! I love that they are an American Brand, revived!
be careful of iroshizuku inks in vintage bladder pens. i read that the inks are too acidic for some sac materials and can melt them inside the pen. now im not sure if it was a new sac on a vintage pen or a vintage sac this happened to, but i saw you fill an old pen with an iroshizuku and thought i should tell you. Waterman inks tend to be the safest for all pen materials on a vintage pen.
I have the Botanical Garden and bought it for the same reason…so many matching possibilities! But wow…I LOVE the Rocky Top!

A beautiful collection! Rumor has it the Blue Moon Estie is supposed to be available again very soon!

Esterbrook Estie is my dream pen.
Lovely collection! My favorite would be the Vintage one #1 then the Raven and finally the Oversize (mostly because of the size haha).
I have that same vintage Esterbrook!
gosh what a good looking collection! i cant decide which estie i want to get as my first on, but with fall around the corner i may spring for the honeycomb
You won't be disappointed with Honeycomb! It's beautiful! Thanks so much for watching!

It’s part of their Custom Nibs

I'm so sad I missed out on the Lilac. It's really hard to find and I've been stalking most sites lol

I from Libya I hope to visit you 😢❤❤
i LOVE estie I have 2

I love when there is such a personal connection to a pen! I'm so happy that you have the Gold Rush!
Great collection of Esties but I think you left out Sweet Dreams
I don't have Sweet Dreams yet, but I'd love one! lol!
What was the sesame ink ?
It's from Lennon Tool Bar

J Herbin and Diamine (not shimmer) are generally also considered vintage safe.
Ooh, thank you so much for sharing.
Great to know! I'll swap out the ink this week. Thank you!
@@timewithtata8004 And thank you for the videos! I really enjoyed this.
