    Love your videos, but I feel this sort of missed the point that a lot of people get hung up on. I found that based on Reddit and Ioniq Forums, some people have confusion on how to use this. I'd recommend that, if it's two drivers using the car, then each set a user profile. That then allows them to save their AM/FM presets, music, etc as you call out. It also opens up two seat memory settings, as you call out. The key thing, though, is for each driver to save their seat setting to the _same hardware button_ on the door - for simplicity, just say, use position one on both profiles. Then when the drivers start the car and select their user from the profile, the car will automatically adjust to that user's memory position one. If the other driver drives next, then when that driver selects their profile, the car will automatically adjust to their memory position one.
    A lot of people seem to be setting one driver to position one, and the other to position two - meaning that they have to select driver profiles AND select the hardware seat memory button. There's no need! Just save the hardware memory to the same button, but in different profiles, and then all you have to do is select the driver profile and the seat will be exactly where you need it to be. The car remembers it's in position one, and will recall that position linked to each profile as needed.

      Thank you, with your comment I was finally able to adjust the setting in a way my Ioniq 5 doesn’t try to end my life Carrie-style.

    One thing you didn't mention, but you can see moving in the video, is the side view mirror positions are also saved to each stored driving position. With only one EV in our home fleet, it was important to get this feature so we can maximize driving the EV between two drivers as it way cheaper (and more fun) to drive.

    Limited owner here: Hyundai should tie the profiles to key settings like many cars do. Or at least let door settings operate with power off. Problem is that when I get into the car after wife has used it, I need to squeeze in and start the car before selecting either a user profile on the screen or a door profile. Not very convenient. Wait -- the solution is to add seat retraction to her profile! Still a PITA, but at least I will fit!

    I have a 2022 Ioniq 5 Ultimate and the seat automatically goes back on exiting the car. Do you know is there a way to adjust this position? Thanks Jim.

    How have you found the seat comfort overall? Any lower back issues etc?

      I have Sciatica and have no issues with the seats. There are enough controls to adjust each of the seats (including rear seats) to be completely comfortable.

      I just got my I5 and did a long road trip. 5 hrs one way and 4 back. I felt great. We’ve had Honda products forever and I always had back issues. Had a Model 3 for 4 months. Better but still had issues. The I5 is the best of those. A secret I found out was to sit as high as you can. Felt weird at 1st but better on the back when knees are bent as close to 90* as possible.

    Thanks TIG! This is one of the pros of the 3 profiles - although one of the cons is when daylight savings is enabled/disabled in our time zone, we have to change the time multiple times on each profile! btw have you ever tried one of those camping solar blankets on the Ioniq 5? If it can be connected up and do a descent charge

    The memory buttons aren't just for driver's seat, they also set the outside mirrors.
    Regarding your comments on profiles: Fortunately my wife rarely uses my car. But when she does it is really frustrating because she's very short and I'm very tall. So if her profile is still active when I get in, I can't stop the seat from crushing me into the wheel until after the power-on cycle finishes. I can't understand at this price point and this level of technology why profiles aren't linked to key fobs so that you don't have to bother switching profiles etc.
    And while you're right about there being a great deal of customization you can do in profiles, I have to say I'm just as confused as to why there isn't a way to set some kind of driving presets or at least remember the last used settings for things like regen and lane centering. Every time I get in the car I feel like I'm starting the Millennium Falcon, flipping multiple switches and pressing buttons.

      Strange, mine does remember Regen level. The “don’t go off the road” assist though does not remain switched off. It has to be activated everytime you start the car to comply with newer regulatories.

    There are so many features of the limited that the SEL doesn't have. I think I may upgrade at some point in the future. I will hold off until at least the 2024 is announced. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for the video!

  • @1sword4you
    @1sword4you ปีที่แล้ว

    Does it affect the mirrors as well? - When you open the door the seat moves back, presumably for easier entry and exit - can those positions also be adjusted?

  • @PeterKyllesbeck
    @PeterKyllesbeck ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is one problem though, easy access will position the seat as last set before you can change seat position from memory.
    More in manual 3-5 and 5-25 (my22)

    • @johnbutt1
      @johnbutt1 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a GV60 and really struggled with our seat settings until I saw this video. The manual doesn't explain it all well. We have 2 drivers of the car, so we've set memory 1 for the current profile (as remembered when the car is locked) and memory 2 for the other driver. So if the seat is wrong, both drivers just have to press button 2 for their own seat position.

  • @normanwolfe7639

    Is it possible to have your profile set to the key fob? So it knows who’s getting in?
    My wife and I set the seat to our profile, so when I get in after she used it last I have to wait to change to me in the screen but meanwhile the seat has moved to her setting…ouch- she’s 5’ tall.
    I guess we just need to set the buttons for each of us on both our profiles but most cars now recognize who’s getting in by the fob.

    The dumbest thing about the ioniq5 is that the profile has to be manually switched in the screen and it is not tied to the keyfob. After my wife uses the car on her profile, I have to change profiles while getting squished from the easy exit seats going to her remembered driving position.
