I've been teaching myself how to fight and spin staff-sized sticks for a few years now but only recently acquired an actual longstaff designed for the motions. After watching yours and some other videos, I'm glad to know that while I have the basic sense of the weapon's uses down, I have a lot to work on with my form. This was very educational and I can't wait to improve, thank you.
Just finding these Bo videos now and have absolutely fallen in love with the Bo. Studied Karate when I was a lot younger, and just realizing in my very early 40's that I really miss that stuff, so I picked up an oak Bo, and have been trying to at least get my spinning in, and go from there. Nice and slow, as I'm pretty crappy at it, and need to get better. Thanks a ton for the videos, and the work involved. Now I need to find somewhere local to learn the Bo. :) One of the best video series on TH-cam I've ever discovered.
This may sound funny, but the other day I was outside messing with a PVC pipe in the yard and had some fun twirling and trying to mimic things I've seen in martial arts. After watching your video and a few others, I think I'm hooked on this! Great instruction - you made the moves easy to understand.
Awesome video! Excited to get started. Quick question... I am 5' 8" should I get a staff similar to my height or should it be 6ft? 6ft would be tricky to spin for me without hitting the floor!
Excellent technique and forms. Your videos have been so informative and helpful. You are a brilliant teacher. 🙏🏻
Thank you. That is a very generous compliment!

A six foot staff would be perfect and you won’t hit the floor.
