…is anybody else hearing Jones here…during Celebration Day? Not only is he providing bass, he’s essentially the band’s’ second guitarist - with those seriously mad picking chops. He and Bonzo provided a whole other sub concert - behind the other two out front. The sound and energy the rhythm section created was unique. Nobody could ever touch them. Ever.
@@darylhoskins5696 I am well aware of that. I was responding to an observation specifically about the bass. Besides, it was a quote from Jimmy Page which is found printed on the "Presence" album. Cheers.
I remember watching John Bonham’s drum solo at the end of Rock and Roll and thinking the producers must have sped the film up because nobody can move their arms that fast and still maintain control! It still amazes me to this day!
Yup seen the mighty Zeppelin, in st.Louis. '77' from the stage and it was the fuckin most amazing show I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot since 1973-2023 stones, Ringo, McCartney, Clapton, Chuck Berry, deep purple, Black Sabbath, the list goes on and on and on ☮️
Or playing the keyboards with your hands and the bass with your feet, as JPJ did on many live versions of songs that required him to play two instruments at once. Zep were the GOAT!!
This song is heavy and one of the best live tunes I've ever heard. It's just tough and with celebration day backing it up it's a one two punch for the ages.
Woke up today not feeling well . turned on my tablet and here I am listening to the greatest rock band of all times. Starting to feel better. Maybe a few more hours of L Z and ill be back yo normal what ever that is . thanks to U tube and LZ its going to be a great LZ day.
@rustybear5125 I sometimes wonder what would have happened if he made it. Would he have cleaned up like most do? The music? Still with Zeppelin? They were getting prepared for a North American tour. Setting dates for in through the out door tour. Some of those major rock deaths were just a little before my time. Not JHB....that hit hard!!
Was so fortunate to see them on this 1973 tour in Albuquerque as well as 72 tour in Tucson 71 tour and the LA Forum and fourth and final time 3/5/1975 in Dallas there will never be another Led Zeppelin.
Fuck Yeah!!! seriously straight-up kicking-ass rock & roll in its purest form. This legendary performance stands the test of time. Zeppelin lays down the foundation that heavy metal is built on. Been listening/watching regularly from '76 to 2024 the intensity, power, and emotion hasn't diminished one bit. Page is the greatest guitarist to ever walk the earth! Just as good now as it was then. ROCK n ROLL WILL NEVER DIE!!!🤘
yeah. I made a funny. Saw Jimmy and Jonesy playing with the Foo's. Pretty cool. Taylor Hawkin sang the hell out of rock&roll. Sweater vest Jimmy was not there. Bye for now.
Celebration day is OUTSTANDING! I played it to a backing tape at my High School talent show back in 1986. I still have the 1974 Gibson custom Les Paul I played it on.
The first time I saw The Song Remains The Same Movie was at the local theater back in the day when they used to play midnight movies, it was outstanding!!
No others could ever emulate..Page a maestro,Bonzo,JPJ awesome ..Plant's vocals..Epitome Rock God..Unearthly beautiful man..Their music will always live on..perfection!😊
Led Zeppelin one of my favorite bands growing up for the musicianship, variety in music and in creating, recording and playing music, always liked Jimmy Page's raw chunky gritty guitar work, Rocking!!!

She is the U.S. Jimmy Page of the Studio! Do other famous musicians have to nominate her and how many people?
…I hear ya on that bro. In many ways, I couldn’t agree more. When people place the Stones and Zeppelin in the same sentence right there I know they have ZERO idea of what they’re talking about. Zeppelin was the greatest accident the music world ever had the benefit of enjoying.
What an amazing stage presence Zep can do. An X factor that has never been seen or felt in all the live performances of all other rock bands. I mean ALL !!!!!
Now, after 50+ years since the three day stand @NYC's MSG until Robert and his family plus Scarlett Page being in the car crash on the Isle of Rhodes. This is when Led Zeppelin were at their height of popularity and outselling The Rolling Stones in record sales, they couldn't be stopped or touched as far as playing to sold-out shows and prime performances.

Bonham's 15 inch Hi-Hats
Jimmy Page and Plant an absolute team of legends - what a front line - What a rhythm section too ! What a band

The musical symmetry here between the 3 instruments and the voice is amazing, unparalleled
50 years on and still the best ever
Took me years to wrap my head around "Celebration Day". A different kind of animal. No other band would come up with this one.
