John Paul Jones is so phenomenal, his tone, rapidity, soul...and Jimmy still as fabulous as possible, these two set the bar so high...I love their work. From the first chords, you know...Led Zep!
As a young teenage boy I used to play along to Zeppelin - banging old magazines with a couple of dinner knives - seeing myself as John Bonham. I can imagine Dave Grohl having done something similar - so, it's no wonder he's grinning from ear-to-ear. Go for it Dave!
Just a small kid from Texas, and a HUGE EVERYTHING inside of an always tiny humble little self. What a loss. Seeing him here among those beasts makes him even greater than I think he never even fathomed he was. Look at him looking around all the time. RIP
I read somewhere that Taylor had extreme stage fright every time he knew he had to get up and perform. If that was true then it’s even more sad seeing him looking around maybe anxious and unsure of himself performing in front of a huge crowd like this with Page and Jones behind you while you perform their song. He was too good for this world.
Are...you...kidding...ME?! The greatest rendition of Zep's R&R that I have ever heard. Gonzo drums, Shred Guitars, Paleolithic vocals. My oh my. Should anybody ever attempt this tune again?!?
Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins was one of the most passionate and impressive drummers ever. Always with that smile ... always. Listening to him and seeing him tirelessly do what he adored was something unique. The world of music is once again poorer. How early and how a pity ..

What a blast it must have been!
A true example of unity in diversity...the musicians, the vocalists ,all from different bands and yet creating mesmerising music. Music defines unity and creativity. Thank you
There is no inherent benefit in diversity.
Imagine growing up you're a huge Zep fan. Then imagine you become a member of the Foo Fighters. Then imagine you play on stage with Page and Jones. I came.
Taylor could not have been more amazing on vocals. RIP
Dave unleashed his inner Bonzo and Taylor gave us flawless vocals, love to see it!🤌🤌🤌
Jimmy Page. Legend. I think if I ever met him I would be so overwhelmed I would be speechless and cry and I'm no sissy.
Same
I did meet him. And I had no idea what my name was. Not kidding. He asked my name and I started laughing like the vilage idiot. Still one of th greatest moments of my life. And Jimmy was gracious and nice and slapped me on the back and said it was great to meet me. Even tho neither of us knew my name. 😂
Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones sounding exactly like in the 70s
chacha - Legends 🔥🔥🔥
Because they're Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones
footos - Exactly 🔥🔥
wait, wait, wait ... stop the carrrr!!! this is not the 70s???? whoaaaaaa
yea just pages tone is more bass and heavy which i dig it
Jimmy Page's joy as Dave Grohl finishes out the song...priceless.
YES
It was beautiful
He saw, heard and felt the BonHam in him!
I know he feels like the 60's with John Bonham
That smile!
Drummer of Nirvana playing drums on a Led Zeppelin song with the drummer of The Foo Fighters taking up the role of lead vocalist.
Right? Its a fucking a time warp this truly is one of the most special moments in rock n roll history.
AND HE KIIIILED THE VOCALS !!
@Seaeff Damn right
Trouble is that left them without a guitarist.
The old guy who filled in wasn't too bad though, to be fair.
@@alexanderbarsby4357 what are you talking about?
David Groll is really driving those drums, love the singer too! Great rendition of the song and it sounds very modern.
Really like Taylors vocals on this.. goes to show he's not just a great drummer.. rest easy taylor 🤘🤘 you will be missed..
It doesn't matter how many times you watch this Vid, Foo Fighters and Led Zeplin, totally addictive,. Raw energy at its best. RIP Taylor Hawkins.
That's why I love Rock !!! Our generation was very lucky to grow up listening to this music.
Jimmy Page is such a joy to watch, hes so in love with music...hes total zen, man.
JPJ has a studio recording sound during a full stadium live show....respect
Can we talk about how fucking amazing Taylor's voice is?
Yes we can. His howling before the solo was epic. Sounded fantastic.
i was about to type "was" but nah, he'd be fucking rocking wherever he may roam.
The expression on Jimmy Page's face when Dave did the drum solo is satisfying indeed. Amazing performance!
You left too early Taylor.
R.I.P.
John Paul Jones, the quiet achiever who is the greatest musician on the stage
Absolutamente de acuerdo.
Taylor’s finest moment on stage. Just heard the news about his passing and I’m fuckin’ gutted. What a tremendous loss.
All these days later and I’m still gutted like we just found out. Seriously heartbroken.
RIP Taylor Hawkins. An amazing and jovial soul and a force to be reckoned with not only on drums, but also on vocals. You will be missed.
This shows why you really only need one guitarist, if he is great! The amount of sound just four guys make here is phenomenal, and I love seeing different generations working together. John Paul Jones is so phenomenal, his tone, rapidity, soul...and Jimmy still as fabulous as possible, these two set the bar so high...I love their work. From the first chords, you know...Led Zep!
Hello 👋how are you doing? Nice to meet you here where are you from? I'm Patrick Corey from California USA.
This cover blows any other cover away. Man, they were all stellar, Page and Jones had a blast from the looks of it too.
Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins was one of the most passionate and impressive drummers ever.
Always with that smile ... always.
Listening to him and seeing him tirelessly do what he adored was something unique.
The world of music is once again poorer.
How early and how a pity ..
I watched this video like 50 times already throughout the years and I always instantly recognize: THIS IS ABSOLUTE FIRE!!!! ONE OF THE GREATEST CROSSOVERS IN ROCK HISTORY. 😍🔥
almost comments says about dave, taylor, page
poor john... always forgotten
:'(
Led Zeppelin wouldnt have ever made it without him. such an amazing talent.
@@timroth5768 yeah... that's true :(
alex siswanto John who??
@@itsMrNoble John Paul Jones, sir :(
Samuel Noble John legend
Grohl is always so pumped when he gets to play the drums
R.I.P Taylor Hawkins a great singer and an even greater drummer. I was hoping we could see more of his vocal performance but im afraid there won't be any chance 😥
I was at leeds fest seeing them when they sang a couple queen songs, Taylor was the lead
@@tommanners3705 the few times I saw them Taylor performed vocals on a queen song or two and some others iirc. incredible drummer, vocalist, and person. such a sad one really, and he was still young 😔
@@Oscarutabaga He paid the price for his antics, it seems.
@@hugolafhugolaf the rock and roll lifestyle caught up to him unfortunately
@@Oscarutabaga Seems like it.
Taylor’s smile was infectious! Loved by all. My heart is still broken. Gone too soon
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO SO BAD SINCE THE UNOFFICIAL UPLOAD BY A RANDOM GUY ONE DAY JUST DISAPPEARED FROM TH-cam.
Same as you bro
I FEEL U
SAME
Sameeeeeee
We remember
The legends together. Omg dave is a beast in drums he play so fast hard loud.
The sheer delight in Grohl's face on playing with legends. And, as for Taylor, great performance, RIP mate
Those first 10 seconds or so... He just looks almost uncontrollably happy!! It's almost as if his face wants to smile more, but it physically can't!!
How many times does anyone get to meet their childhood idols and them jam with them !
Every time I watch this I fall in love with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones all over again...deep love...great talent...that never goes out of style.
Sure, I don't understand why they didn't continue rocking without that diva
Man had absolute pipes and was an animal on the drums. RIP Taylor
Taylor was amazing!!!! I am watching youtube of course...he also sings this song at the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zepplin....and he's even dressed up for the performance
Saw Zeppelin first time in 1970 and about 3 times thereafter. Each of their concerts were marathons, 2.5-3 hrs and they ALWAYS over-delivered.
Their albums were one thing, but their concerts were unbelievable, transformative events.
Oh, and probably paid on average $15 - $20. Talk about a different time.
I'm glad I was a kid & came up when I did.
I love watching Jimmy play .. he shows he's having fun now more than he ever did!
I could watch Dave play drums for DAYS
Really great version of this song and I love the way Dave and Taylor can swop roles (drums and singing). I am a 64 year old drummer from the UK and I can't think of any other band (so far?) where the drummer and singer can do this (especially in a heavy rock band format).
Very well done you guys plus Jimmy and John Paul Jones of course.
OMG kurt! Look at this! Your best drummer play one stage with jimmy...!! Awesome
Hands down my favorite moment of Taylor Hawkins. Absolute legend. Cant believe he’s gone. 😞
