Also, why does everyone think that key area in the front is the main starter?! The KeyOn button is below the ignition button. THAT is how you turn this bike on. The other one that is hard to reach, is a backup to initiate the PIN code start process if the key is lost or broken. That is SUPPOSED to be hidden and only used in emergency.
I'm one of the few people this bike is perfect for. I love the riding position, and beautiful designs of cruisers. But I also want to ride fast and sporty. Can't wait to ride this one day.
The XDiavel is pure joy and fun! The low end torque is out of this world. I’ve had my XD since 2016 and I have zero regrets. Great video. Oh and the Termi just takes it to another level.
You have the keyless start all wrong. That switch turns the keyless ability on and off. After you turn that button so it turns on the bike, you’ll be able to use a different button right below the start button of the right grip controls to turn on and off from then on. It’s super convenient once activated.
Owned an XDiavel S for two years and I had no idea that I could do that. Thanks! Also yeah mine has a Termi exhaust and it's awesome. If this bike is too loud the previous owner might have removed the internal baffles. I put mine back in because it was just obnoxious. You can also buy "can opener style" inserts on eBay to quiet it down even more if that's your thing.
It's damn sure one of the best looking cruisers. That thing is absolutely beautiful. That being said I personally would prefer the Ducati Diavel 1260S 2022 model with that brushed aluminum with the yellow and black accents is just one of the most beautiful modern bikes to me.
@@08cmax They are different, but they are both European companies take on a Muscle Cruiser wich makes them competitive offerings....you don't have to be extremely similar to be competitive in a market segment.

i have heard, MT09 (no lag or play, not mild or muted) has better Throttle response than Multistrada 1260 (same engine as Diavel) ... & also Kawasaki ZX10R
You should have tried urban mode to overcome the issues you had with slow riding. It drops the power output from 160 to 100 and makes the bike much more docile for city cruising.
Does this smooth out lower revs too and less of this supposed chugging I've been hearing? I'm looking at buying one but none around to test ride. I currently ride a vstar 950 which is quite smooth but i want more go.
It's a good bike to live with. I've added a givi screen, comfort seat, sat-nav, heated grips and a bike pack rack. it's capable of long rides and more spirited riding. It will cruise at lower speeds, just use a lower gear to keep the revs over 2500. I have become addicted to the pull from the low down torque. It's not a bike for everyone. Trail braking is a concept you will need to become very familiar with in the twisties if you plan on riding it hard. For me, it has an X factor and it's a keeper. Other bikes will keep it company in the garage but I think the X will always be my favourite. BTW you only need to use the central button when the key battery runs flat (it's a keyless ignition) to punch in a pin code to start the bike. There is another button below the start button to bring the bike to life as well as locking the steering after you have turned the bike off.
This is the best bike for me, I’m well built 6’2 and this is perfect for me, the seating, handlebar, the gear positions everything is perfect. Plus I look like an absolute mafia boss if I drive this lol
OC: I don't know about how sporty you'd want a muscle cruiser to be, but if it's a comfortable riding position and can give you that kinda lean angle. Then Ducati definitely did something right. So is it safe to say Chase is becoming a cruiser guy kinda. Beau must be so happy. Soon there will be cruiser dual vlogs with Chase and Beau.
xdiavel has to be the sexiest bike ever - to my eyes anyway - absolute dream. I'm literally getting my licence this year so that once I'm off LAMS bikes and have experience, I can get one of these!
You can turn off the bike by tapping the bottom control on the right control panel. The same one you use to start it. Once you drop the red fuel control down, you use that to lock the steering as well
Great reaction to the XDS. I moved from riding a sport bike; took a few years off from riding and then came back wanting a muscle cruiser. The XDiavel hits all of the sweet spots. I enjoy the comfortable seating position and instant power when I crack open the throttle. And then...the ability to take a corner like you're on a sport bike. My bike has smoke tinted sport windscreen, which makes highway riding much more comfortable and doesn't take away from the appearance of the bike. I agree with much of your analysis but I wouldn't give up the sportiness this cruiser provides for a little more around town smoothness. Besides that is what urban mode is for... Maybe I should use it more... Naw... LoL
the "turn on thingy" . . Is not a problem. You dont ever need to touch or turn it. Its keyless. just sitt on the bike and start it up from the buttons /start button

Here in Aus I went to buy an xdiavel dark in June ‘21. They were sold out throughout Australia and I am waiting for mine to be built and shipped sometime in January February ‘22. Needless to say I CANNOT WAIT!
Diavel and XDiavel definitely more sporty and better handing than Rocket , just feels more agile but a bit hyper active to be a cruiser… and when you use all revs the Diavel is a little faster top end (first 3 gears abs top end) than Rocket but in the mid range, roll on, the Diavel feels way way less torquey than Rocket and the pegs on 3R can be raised, way more vibey than Rocket, sounds great but left my back in stitches for 4 days, Sporster S feels like a mini Diavel but not in same league as Diavel or Rocket.
I daily rode a M109R for 3 years, which has a near identical seating, hand and foot positioning. It also felt heavy at very low speeds, but felt smooth, powerful and dreamy as soon as you're going 20 mph+. It also had almost no wind protection. That was never an issue for a day trip in any of the canyons surrounding LA, but it was indeed not ideal at all for longer highway speed trips. By even an hour and a half of highway riding I was very sore all over my shoulders and back. So it's good as a city daily rider, and great for group canyon rides, but terrible for longer distance highway trips or real "touring."
I love the muscle cruiser style bikes...they live in 2 different worlds and some times they don't know which to be in. Cruiser, or sport?!? I guess they are like the motor cycle equivalent of a comb-over....you have something there but just not sure what to do with it!

But on the weekends, I do some shenanigans with some buddies. I tend to be the most aggressive in the twisties, but nothing too terribly crazy speed wise. I try to keep under 90mph. I've always enjoyed the look of the Diavel, and I've never owned a V-twin before. I've riden quite a few different bikes, and I found that with my messed up lower back (i knocked 3 vertebrae out of alignment like 11 years ago). naked bikes, as well as bikes with forward controls, just work better for me comfort wise. The route I take to work is twisty and is a 2 lane road, when I end up behind someone going 10-15 under the posted speed limit which happens way more than it should, having that torque to make the pass quick i feel like would help a bunch. I am also looking at a 2014 S1000R though. I'm not totally decided have any input? Sorry for the novel lol

Dude, stop using the button under the bar to start it. That's not how it works. I saw you do this on every other keyless start ducati. That's just for emergency only. Leave it in the on position. Press the lock/unlock button on the right hand steering control to turn on the power, then push start to turn over the engine. Press lock/unlock again to turn off the power. Never touch the button under the handle bar unless you lost the key. No need to push additional buttons or even bring out the key. Whoever is showing you how to start this bike needs help. Hope you enjoyed the bike otherwise.
Also needs to stop riding around with the high beam on the while time, the blue high beam light on the upper display is illuminated the entire video... lol

No turn assist, no ABS, no help at all, just you and the machine. These days bikes are idiot-proof

I’m not sure if he had the key, but yea true good point Donald.
Nobody showed me anything on this one which is why I had to experiment. Thanks for the info though.
Also needs to stop riding around with the high beam on the while time, the blue high beam light on the upper display is illuminated the entire video... lol

Imma poor someday shit get one ....

LMAO listening to younger laddies reviewing bikes, i have seven, some nakeds, some scramblers, a harley with forward footpegs, and cafe racers, and each riding position is different, and none of them throw me. Three of my bikes have no abs, and one doesnt even have mirrors or a tachometer, nor abs or any ecu computer crap. Reral riders like T.E. lawrence would explain to you young whippersnappers what motorcycling is about. The kids of today couldn't stay on the bikes we rode in the seventies. No turn assist, no ABS, no help at all, just you and the machine. These days bikes are idiot-proof
Do a flip
Haha 😆 wish it could, I’ll be doing flips on mine.
