KK: Have you ever been in a MC accident? Shit happens quick when you're moving. Even if you could find time to jump off, you'd be flying in the direction of whatever you're going to hit anyway. It may draw too much power and blow the fuse, even if it does work, the wire will look ugly when routing it to under seat. I may just get some battery powered gloves or something.
Couldnt you route a wire under the tank somehow ? and you can check power requirement easily ~ Power (in watts) = volts x amps, if your gloves have a power rating on them divide it by 14 and that will give you how many amps they`ll take, as long as your fuse rating is above that your good
Any heated gear using the 12 V on top will blow fuses, trust me found that out the hard way. wire directly from the battery, fuse it with relay, and just run it up along the 12v sat nav wire.
Say if you get some battery powered gloves that don't hook up to the bike, how about a review of those? I have been looking for a good portable pair that I don't have to wire to my bike.
No problems so far but I avoid riding on gravel roads or bad roads. Prior to purchasing the bike I contacted Ducati headquarters with questions about all of the common problems reported on this bike. They said to ride very cautiously on roads with debris, so that's what I will do. After about a good 6 month of riding this bike I will do a proper review and address any problems, just as I have with other bike I've owned so far with this channel.
look where they put that little tool pouch under the seats asked dealer to put one on and they said it already had it and showed me where it was mine is plugged in right now.
Hey cycle cruza I wonder if you put a set of secondary pegs. What are you gonna do about your back brake lever. Are you just gonna move it to the other pegs. And if so would that void your warranty. Im just wondering because it would be a pain to have to switch to the forward controls if you wanted to use your back brakes
If it's a battery tender brand trickle charger, battery tender makes a USB cable that attaches to the bike like you were charging it, but it gives you power for phone, GPS, heated gloves, whatever you need
its 2018 and ur cbr is i think 2002 model. already been 15 years. Isn't she banned on the road. I am curious because any vehical more than 15 years is banned on the road. what about that?
hey cyclecruza I'm 16 and about to buy a bike i am leaning towards the r6 and staying in the low rpm's at first and i do have a little bit of riding experience with dirt bikes and a honda from do you think thats a good idea
So if you can't get the heated gloves going I'd recommend getting heated grips. Really, it is a lifesaver for your hands, and I should know living in Norway. Hell, I even use it on cold summer nights.
Mid controls or not there’s no way your jumping off that bike fast enough to avoid a real fucked up day, especially how fast you’d be going on that bad boy...just hope When you do it your recording for the channel lol
Exactly, he hasn't been in an accident yet, and has no idea how quickly it all happens. If he has time to think and jump, he has time to brake and move over to avoid the accident in the first place
Actually, a viewer thanked me for my advice on jumping from the bike, save him from death. He saw a truck go through a stop sign and he had no time to swerve so he leaped from his bike and landed on top of the truck while his bike was smashed to pieces. He walked away without a scratch and thanked me in a comment. Also, dirtbikers do it all the time to help avoid injury. I do it on my wr250r when riding off-road, leap from the bike when I feel the bike is about to go down. NINJA STYLE! NOTE: Ask dirtbikers / motocross riders/ freestyle riders, who jump off their bikes to avoid injury and maybe they will help you understand better. Peace!
xion 1212 he’s spent five years with motorcycles being one of his center focuses. How do you expect him to not evolve and change? But to say it’s an act...you’re wrong. He’s still excited about bikes. He’s obviously not gonna keep buying cbrs
You will never have the fastest instinct to just jump off your motorcycle in an accident. When it happens, it will never come across your mind to do it. You're focusing on preparing for the fall. Come on now.
The pegs... It's a cruiser, most cruisers have forward legs, that allows for the sitting position, . As for a car pulling in front of you, cancel your turn signals!, luckily the diavel has self cancelling. Trunk, carry a backpack, battery, that will be the one thing I agree with you..
I dig the fender. I miss my bike (Ducati Streetfighter). I’m in Alaska and the bike is in MIssouri. Your posts get me through the long winters till I can ride again.
May 2016. Kawasaki concours vs deer. 72 mph. I didn't bail and I didn't try to take the ditch. I hung on and it was the best decision I ever made. I went through the centre of the deer and broke it in half. I didn't go down and I walked away with a slightly sore back and covered on my left side in grass. The deer didn't do as well and most of the front of the bike was missing, i.e. fairing and lights. I can't imagine ever jumping off but I guess there might be a situation where you could. I think if I was heading for a truck I would swerve the bike instead of slicing under it after jumping. I thought bailing out was only for planes.
I personally prefer to bunny hop or wheelie over obstacles in danger situations rather than bail for obvious reasons. Rather than mid pegs, consider jet packs or flip out helicopter blades.
Cruza; Locating the battery where Ducati did is one of the reasons your Diavel handles as brilliantly as it does. 'Dummy' pegs will leave you with the same lack of confidence(and increased danger) because your foot 'controls' will be absent. Either get used to it or spread your cheeks for Ducati's answer. Or mount "dummy" forward mounts after your Italian buggery. 'Bikers' have called them "Highway Pegs" for decades. Except for the replacement of the ubiquitously effete HORN motorcycles are commonly given; For the next 5000 miles suspend all activity altering the motorcycle and defer to gripe #5.
Douglas Elliott I agree, the mid foot pegs will decrease his reaction time in an emergency creating more of a danger than the minimal safety benefit of "jumping off". And you could always add a top box or side cases for your ride to California, easily remove them when not needed.
Don't know yet.. just. I finished the partial tank of gas the bike came with and still have yet to finish the tank of gas I put in it. I will let you all know when I finish the tank. I set up a fuelly account like I dd with all of my vehicles.
About 33-34 mpg so far, but I have a heavy hand and blast a lot on this bike. I keep it in sport mode, if I put it in the slower power mode and just cruise around town I'm sure I can do much better.
I’m so happy you’re a Ducati convert. Ducs just have so much more personality as opposed to Japanese bikes. I totally believe you in that you would return it if you were unhappy.
uh uh. no matter where you positioned the pegs, it won't change the fact and tge feeling that you are riding a wild beast with nothing to hang on to except the handle bar. by the way, always love your vids man. and i know it's late but congratulations on owning a beast
The only thing I dont like about them and I have been on one is the foot controls are more forward. I used to ride bikes with mid controls but now I am to used to rear foot controls. Sexy bikes though. I love italian. I ride a 2016 Aprilia RSV4 RF amd an 06 CBR600RR
2 things i hate about my cbr600 DOUBLE R- i mean f4i the non linear powerband, (really jumpy) wheels not being balanced, and having a 190/55/17 on instead of 180/55 makes the ride sketchhh
I have ridden it some days ago and I was very disappointed about the (not given) capability to ride that bike below 3000rpm. It is a ducati means it is a high rev sportsbike. Cruising not possible.
I purchased the armor jacket I now have a chance to buy a pair of alpine star missile pants but I ride a cruiser are they overkill oh and at less than half the price with tags so cheap..!!! Your comment ...
Cyclecruza maybe take your bike to a Ducati service shop and see if they can wire you up some extra plug ins and look nice without voided your warranty. As for the foot pegs being in the middle I have ridden thousands of miles and it isn't no where near as comfortable as feet forward. You want feel like riding to California with your feet in the middle. Don't believe me bottoe or rent a cruiser and ride a weekend with your feet in the middle position. I've said this already but give yourself more reaction time and enjoy your comfort.
Some viewers said there is a battery plug-in underneath the seat, I did not know that. I will do a follow up video if I can find it. Like I said I love the feet forward BUT I want to add some mid pegs for piece of mind so I can properly bail from the bike if I need to.
I have only one complaint, and it’s minor: The bike does not like to go slow! I have to feather the clutch more than I would like in parking lots, etc...🙃
6 things you dont like...you mentioned that buying any parts for a Ducati is expensive. I can tell that causes a little extra anxiety about reliability issues. I'm sure all the extra electronics and CPUs add to that stress as well. seems comprable to buying a Ferrari or something, you love the looks and you really enjoy the Italian artwork but deep inside you worry about the cost of putting miles on it. Still,no good reason to be having any buyers remorse. it's badass man.
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought: .... Ducati Regreti? First Ducati Biscotti from YammieNoob, now I come up with Ducati Regreti... I like that battery placement though. Low center of gravity. Even when you get one of those lighter weight lithium replacements, like from Shorai.
All 5 are very small issues & not worth hating on but I get it, just annoying things that coulda been better from factory. That's one beautiful bike Cruza, looking forward to seeing you ride the balls off it! Be safe!
I wouldn't own a bike I was afraid to work on. I've owned about 45 bikes, maybe 20 of them were new, all the new ones were Japanese. I have NEVER taken a bike to a dealer for maintenance or repairs. I am a trained professional auto mechanic with 36 years experience, and while I am not a professional motorcycle mechanic, a machine is a machine. I understand how they work, I'm not just a parts changer. Most things transfer over. I have never, and will never, own a bike with EFI, ABS, or any kind of computer on it. Riding a bike is one of the things I do to GET AWAY from that kind of garbage.
Except with a carb you wont be out riding you will be at home rebuilding it. I have noticed time and time again many old school mechanics who hate fuel injection and love carburetors. I have vintage bikes and after the 5th carb rebuild I seriously question why anyone with any level of mechanical ability would prefer these archaic devices (the carburetor). Usual I find that they are terrified of fuel injection because they don't have the slightest idea of how to troubleshoot FI. But they can tear apart a carb and brag all day to their friends how they fixed it. They always act like they just performed brain surgery. Big deal you turned a few screws and got the crap out of it. I would rather be out riding then fcking around with some piece of shit carb that a previous owner neglected.
That's odd. People rode carbed bikes for 100 years before EFI became common. EFI exists only because of the EPA. I have never had carb problems. I have one bike right now that I bought new back in 2002, it currently has 128,000+ miles on it, and the carbs have never been off. It has always run flawlessly. I've never put that many miles on any other bike, but I've had around 45 carbed bikes, the only ones I ever had any issues with at all were 2 strokes. 2 stroke tuning is finicky. I have NEVER, in 42 years, had trouble with a carb on a 4 stroke bike, and I suspect that has been most other riders experience as well. EFI is NOT trouble free. Just running out of gas can destroy a $500 fuel pump. A shorted battery can destroy the ECU. The parts are ridiculously expensive. A new motorcycle carb costs around $400 and lasts forever. All the parts that make up an EFI system (for a single cylinder) cost around $1500. And when they fail, they can't be repaired like a carb can. About the only thing that can happen to a carb is getting dirty, from leaving old gas in it. But that can happen to a fuel injector and in tank fuel pump as well. If you want to tune a carb, you need a couple of $5 jets. If you want to tune an EFI system, you need a $500 Power Commander. I know all too well how fuel injection works. I am an ASE certified auto mechanic, with 36 years experience. At 58, I guess that makes me old school. Just finding an issue with a computerized engine management system requires $1000 or more worth of diagnostic equipment, and vehicle specific software. Cars also did just fine with carbs for 100 years. EFI is not something wonderful that car and motorcycle manufacturers decided to do for their customers, they were pushed into it by the EPA, a totally corrupt govt. agency. But it also benefited dealers, as they are the only ones who have the specialized software to diagnose problems with it. Many independent shops have gone out of business because they could not afford to buy that expensive software that dealers get for free. EFI is one of the worst vehicle related things that has ever been foisted onto consumers, yet most of them think it is a good thing because the EPA said so. Just like the new extended maintenance schedules that can cut the life of a vehicle in half.
my issue with carburetors is that unlike you and I who apparently keep our machines and carburetors well maintained, a lot of jackasses leave them sitting full of that ethanol crap and it totally buggers them up. Then they sell the bikes that way after years of sitting. So maybe my angst would be better aimed at jackasses and the EPA and this shitty ethanol gas than the carburetor itself. Also I didn't mean to imply YOU don't know how to troubleshoot EFI, but most everyone I know doesn't have a clue. I do see your point about FI, when it goes it goes completely and is expensive. It is totally ridiculous that the EPA wants cats on bikes yet they have allowed the heavy truck market to ignore many smog regulations. insane. We agree- the EPA is corrupt.
mid controls and jumping off bikes.... sigh.... so much misinformation... mid controls help you WHILE you are on the bike, not to GET OFF the bike. With mid controls you can hold yourself on the bike using your legs alone. you can raise your butt off the seat when you are about to go over a big obstacle on the road and let the bike sort it out on its own. and they allow you greater movement on the bike for hanging off the bike on turns. jumping off bike or "laying it" are NOT realistic options. Your best bet, if swerving around is not an option anymore, is to use your brakes to the max without locking them allowing you to reduce the impact speed as much as possible.
I did not say they are for jumping off the bike, however, that what I want them for. Btw, I jump off my wr250r to avoid trouble off-road and it works. It is feasible to jump off the bike to avoid getting nailed by a car, I had a viewer thank me in a comment, he said my advice helped save his life. He said a truck ran a stop sign and he was able to jump off the bike and onto the top of the truck while his bike got smashed to smithereens. He walked away without a scratch. Sometimes you have to THINK outside the box if you want to stay safe....Peace!
I wager his injury-less accident had more to do with blind luck than his acrobatic skills. Still, the laws of physics, paired up with realistic timetables (that is microseconds to realize you are already in an accident), tells everyone with a reasonable understanding of the laws of physics, that your best bet is to stay on the brakes as loooooooong as possible without locking them before impact. For you see, if you jump off your vehicle (let's say in this scenario you have enough time to do so) you are no longer slowing down, you are now traveling at the same speed you were traveling when you abandoned your vehicle. And as you and I know, it's the impact that hurts you. The only device you have to lessen the force of impact is the brakes.... the same ones you left behind on that bike you just abandoned...
Let me just add that maybe you can clear the object you are about to impact if you jump over it, then yes, jumping IS a viable option except for one thing... most of us can only jump tops 3 feet? You would have to be very athletic to clear a normal car or about to t-bone a lambo... And then if you do clear said object, now you have to deal with hitting the ground safely. My beef with your comment was not with using the mid control pegs to "jump" off the bike, it was more to do with the fact that jumping off the pegs is the last advantage of mid controls that I would think off... First advantage to me is bike control/leg grip. Second is better Body Position mobility. Third is the ability to stand on them to use your legs to absorb obstacles. Then at the end, the ability to jump off...

You can put saddle bags on it so you can fit anything
Luka Banicevic you can, but it looks ridiculous. Lol
They make sportbike saddlebags that would fit this better, i had a sweet pair on my cbr, small, but held a ton of stuff and were waterproof.
modds on mine:
bar end mirrors
handle bars that come back 3.5"
2" bar risors
the large puig windshield
fender eliminator
digital box to turn tailights into signals as well
termigoni exhaust and upmap
mid controls
xdiavel handgrips and shorty levers
heated handgrips
Wouldn’t it be awesome to have both forward and mids both with controls?
That backrest gotta go!
I love the looks of it!
I say keep it if you like it. Never know you might need it sometime.
@@CycleCruza I love the look of it too
why cant you power your heated gloves from the Sat Nav supply ?
It may draw too much power and blow the fuse, even if it does work, the wire will look ugly when routing it to under seat. I may just get some battery powered gloves or something.
Couldnt you route a wire under the tank somehow ? and you can check power requirement easily ~
Power (in watts) = volts x amps, if your gloves have a power rating on them divide it by 14 and that will give you how many amps they`ll take, as long as your fuse rating is above that your good
Any heated gear using the 12 V on top will blow fuses, trust me found that out the hard way. wire directly from the battery, fuse it with relay, and just run it up along the 12v sat nav wire.
What about servicing costs? I’ve heard it’s crippling and frequent...
There's a connector under the seat. I needed to buy an Optimate SAE adaptor to connect to accessories but it works well
Where? I guess I'll have to look better.
Say if you get some battery powered gloves that don't hook up to the bike, how about a review of those? I have been looking for a good portable pair that I don't have to wire to my bike.
I might try a pair and do a video on them.
the rear license plate is a safety device that keeps it from roll under if you get hit from behind.
Not sure if you mentioned it before? But did you buy this bike new or used?
J Bouchard
He bought it used
You should check wwith Dealer there is recall on master cylinder from Brembo and it is including Ducati Diavel 2015/6/7
How you finding the belt guard on the bike? I find its really cheap and allows for rocks to get in. Had to replace my belt after only 3000 km
What about those gold color bar ends? I'm assuming those are aftermarket. I guess that's something you could change out if you wanted to.

You could try making a harness that would let your gloves plug into the battery tender wire that’s already on the bike.
look under the seat i have a 2016 and it has a plug for battery right there
Nice, I did not know, will look. I guess I can check that off my list.
look where they put that little tool pouch under the seats asked dealer to put one on and they said it already had it and showed me where it was mine is plugged in right now.

The only thing I hate about my motorcycle is that I can't ride it 8 hours every day.
Why not?
How do you extend the sit like that?? I like where can I get it??
If it's a battery tender brand trickle charger, battery tender makes a USB cable that attaches to the bike like you were charging it, but it gives you power for phone, GPS, heated gloves, whatever you need
How many miles do you get per tank and how big is the tank?
its 2018 and ur cbr is i think 2002 model. already been 15 years. Isn't she banned on the road. I am curious because any vehical more than 15 years is banned on the road. what about that?
The part where it turned you into a block of ice because it was 20*F or bellow when you filmed this?

Make a video off trying to Wheelie the cbr or the yamaha
That'd be silly. Drop a sport bike it's not gonna be easy on the wallet.
Thats what the yamaha is for
He ain't tryna die
What's with the hi-viz? You going to work?
What is the maintenance like compared to other bikes?
hey cyclecruza I'm 16 and about to buy a bike i am leaning towards the r6 and staying in the low rpm's at first and i do have a little bit of riding experience with dirt bikes and a honda from do you think thats a good idea
As for the heated gloves you can easily run an extension along the frame to the seat

Mid controls or not there’s no way your jumping off that bike fast enough to avoid a real fucked up day, especially how fast you’d be going on that bad boy...just hope
When you do it your recording for the channel lol
If he gets into an accident (lets hope not) he will know that jumping would be the worst option.
Exactly, he hasn't been in an accident yet, and has no idea how quickly it all happens. If he has time to think and jump, he has time to brake and move over to avoid the accident in the first place
Pickle Rick Yes!
Peace!
I don’t think anyone thinks what you do is a act. Love you channel and enjoy you sharing your moto experiences. Be safe CycleCruza!
xion 1212 he’s spent five years with motorcycles being one of his center focuses. How do you expect him to not evolve and change? But to say it’s an act...you’re wrong. He’s still excited about bikes. He’s obviously not gonna keep buying cbrs
How much did you pay OTD?
You will never have the fastest instinct to just jump off your motorcycle in an accident. When it happens, it will never come across your mind to do it. You're focusing on preparing for the fall. Come on now.
The pegs... It's a cruiser, most cruisers have forward legs, that allows for the sitting position, . As for a car pulling in front of you, cancel your turn signals!, luckily the diavel has self cancelling. Trunk, carry a backpack, battery, that will be the one thing I agree with you..
Forward pegs huh? So you got the " I just got kicked in the belly" riding position?
I dig the fender. I miss my bike (Ducati Streetfighter). I’m in Alaska and the bike is in MIssouri. Your posts get me through the long winters till I can ride again.
Does the new bike fit in the bug out van?
Don't know and will not attempt it. lol That's why I bought the trailer.
U need the termis on it ads hp and sounds way better
Hey cyclecruza how can i improve my riding skills.
I dont see how the battery at the bottom has any benifit to handling. This is actually the only bike i know that has it there
Mark Baum oh okay. Thanks.
Hows your ⛽ mileage and overall range?
Don't know yet.. just. I finished the partial tank of gas the bike came with and still have yet to finish the tank of gas I put in it. I will let you all know when I finish the tank. I set up a fuelly account like I dd with all of my vehicles.
It gets around 50 mpg. It actually tells you on the screen.
XDiavel Woman wow thats impressive. My bike only gets in the low 30's
Collin Mac
I was impressed as well.
About 33-34 mpg so far, but I have a heavy hand and blast a lot on this bike. I keep it in sport mode, if I put it in the slower power mode and just cruise around town I'm sure I can do much better.
Just got a 2012 Ducati. Hopping to Learn some things from ya
With mid pegs and an upper fairing I would love to have a bike like this one.
Reminds me of the day I picked up my Yamaha Bolt. There wasn't even enough room on the bike to store the paperwork.
I’m so happy you’re a Ducati convert. Ducs just have so much more personality as opposed to Japanese bikes. I totally believe you in that you would return it if you were unhappy.
Not a convert yet....lol I love it but we'll see how the reliability is. If I didn't like it the bike would sold by now. lol
Concerned with safety issues, while driving one handed with a selfie stick!? Yeah.....right....
FYI - New Video! The next motorcycle I will get if I decide to sell the Ducati: th-cam.com/video/F0RAOReYCBA/w-d-xo.html
uh uh. no matter where you positioned the pegs, it won't change the fact and tge feeling that you are riding a wild beast with nothing to hang on to except the handle bar. by the way, always love your vids man. and i know it's late but congratulations on owning a beast
Don't you have heating grabs on this bike?!
2 things i hate about my cbr600 DOUBLE R- i mean f4i
the non linear powerband, (really jumpy)
wheels not being balanced, and having a 190/55/17 on instead of 180/55 makes the ride sketchhh
I havent ridden one of these yet.. but i can imagine its a torque monster in any gear.. can prolly get in 3rd or 4th and ride all day
I have ridden it some days ago and I was very disappointed about the (not given) capability to ride that bike below 3000rpm.
It is a ducati means it is a high rev sportsbike.
Cruising not possible.
Can do 3 in town no problem. Not sure what she means by high revving it red lines at 10
New Video: Is Ducati XDiavel ok to be a starter motorcycle? th-cam.com/video/cAzIx1-M0d0/w-d-xo.html
The best part about mid controls is you can get on top of the pegs and stare down a car about to make a blind turn.
New Video: Why EVERYBODY should experience a Ducati: th-cam.com/video/PC9UUKeo66k/w-d-xo.html
Welcome to the Ducati family. They certainly are special machines!
I purchased the armor jacket I now have a chance to buy a pair of alpine star missile pants but I ride a cruiser are they overkill oh and at less than half the price with tags so cheap..!!! Your comment ...
cool, get them!
I have only one complaint, and it’s minor:
The bike does not like to go slow! I have to feather the clutch more than I would like in parking lots, etc...🙃
If you fit mid and front pegs on you can only change gear from one of them ... doesn't sound too practical ...
Do back videos with your CBR 1000RR
are u guyanese
Donald Joseph yes, y?
Nick Sahadeo I am too, I could tell by your comment and name that you're guyanese 😂
Donald Joseph uk me
Nick Sahadeo no
I think the plate on the left is a security issue for pedestrians, if you run over someone you could cut his leg due to edges.

CC,u need new gears for ur ducati, those sportbike gears just dont fit
I admire a review like this, considering that English is obviously his second language, it ain't half bad
😂 bro the low key jab here is hilarious
There is a trickle charger connection under the seat....
thought hes was going to mod the bike with at least a exhaust
For your heated gear buy an SAE extender and just tuck the slack into your pocket. Problem solved and you can unplug the extender when parked ✌
You should have gotten a Multistrada Dude... It's more your type of bike... ✔
Yes CycleCruza strikes me as a gadget swiss army knife type of dude. Adventure bikes are all about that
he hates adventure bikes
Not true Dude... CC says he loves all types/styles of bikes... 👍😉
I am pretty sure a few videos ago he said they were crap
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought:
....
Ducati Regreti?
First Ducati Biscotti from YammieNoob, now I come up with Ducati Regreti...
I like that battery placement though. Low center of gravity. Even when you get one of those lighter weight lithium replacements, like from Shorai.
Just Buy the kit to change the position of the foot pegs or search for others who have done it on their own...
All 5 are very small issues & not worth hating on but I get it, just annoying things that coulda been better from factory. That's one beautiful bike Cruza, looking forward to seeing you ride the balls off it! Be safe!
The way I see it. Nice bike, looks good. Only one thing will be to see how reliable it will be.
Is Cruza gaining weight?
mid controls and jumping off bikes.... sigh.... so much misinformation...
mid controls help you WHILE you are on the bike, not to GET OFF the bike.
Then at the end, the ability to jump off...
the Ducati reminds me if a new badass version if my Magna, especially the riding position/handlebars...
I want summer. Bikeitus is in full gear. Winter sucks!! I wanna GO FOR RIDE!
Good points. But it is still better than some others.
Very good video….I truly enjoyed it my friend.
