      What about JLC?

    • @maverickbonato8164
      @maverickbonato8164 4 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      @@bighands69 Oh yeah, JLC, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, Breguet, F.P. Journe, Blancpain, IWC, Vincero, there are so many brands worth considering it's just that, having seen dozens and dozens of offers from every brand, I can say without much doubt that if I could only choose a single watch to get gifted to me for "Patek money" it would definitely be an A. Lange & Söhne. I suggest you take a look (if you haven't already) at the video called "Is The Entry-Level A. Lange & Söhne Worth £13,100?" from these guys until they show the 1815 Chronograph and maybe you'll understand why. The combination of a flawless (to me) design on the face combined with the most beautiful tone on the movement called German Silver (to me) and the best possible architecture (to many) that you can achieve on a watch just gives it something more than any other brand, something different, something that makes me want to choose those watches over all others.
      Sorry for the long reply lel.

    I love the fact you don't focus on Rolex, because they do a great job of that on their own. I also find it odd that, assuming you have the money, it may actually be easier to acquire a Patek than some (stainless steel) Rolex's from an AD. Now let's face facts, if you see what's under the hood of a Patek (and especially if you watch their 16:00 video on how they perform a "standard" service) it's clearly money well justified. But if your budget is more in the Omega range (still significant money) it's nice to know there are some great options out there. Well done video.

    Let's play a game "What would you be willing to pay for these watches?", I start.
    GP: 6000£
    LUC: 4000£
    Parmigiani: 8000£
    Since you probably don't know what they cost (I don't know what they are asking) without looking it up I think it makes for an interesting game :)

      They all have terrible resale value, whatever the retail price take 70% off, that what I would pay.

    I'd wear that Girard-Perregaux all day long, but he Chopard and Parmigiani just aren't appealing to me.

      They are all really nice high end watches not sure they are exactly in the PP range though.

    Does the GP go to and from British Summer Time and, if so, what would happen if Britain dropped the hour change? Would it require a recalibration from GP?

    Those fake blued screws on the GP really annoyed me. The other two watches were interesting though

    What were they thinking casing up a Geneva Seal movement behind a solid back? It may as well have an ETA/Sellita for all intents and purposes.

    Feeling smug knowing the England team won the Cricket World Cup earlier this year. Why feel smug you ask? Well, because looking at the final scoreboard you can't really tell.
