I love both, although my level of interaction and connection to cars goes deeper than wearing and winding a watch (regardless of how often I wear a watch, it's a less emotional experience than exploring the "limits" of your car imo). Regarding being a target, I disagree. I would actually feel MUCH more unsafe wearing an expensive rolex etc out than driving an expensive car. It's easy to spot if someone is following you home, and you can have cameras etc there...but anyone can decide to pull out a gun/knife and rob you at random when you're out walking in public with a nice watch. Everyone knows which watches to look for nowadays too...That's why there's reportedly over $1.3billion worth of stolen watches right now!

They had cool designs and very original, absolutely worth noting, however, FPJ has done so many more new things in terms of watchmaking in its short lifetime than Rolex ever has. The first Daytona movement was an El primero movement. JLC used to make movements for PATEK so let's also not forget that. Patek has excellent marketing just like Rolex, but not many watchmakers are as attentive to timekeeping as well as aesthetics like FPJ is. De bethune comes to mind, but.. i mean.. FPJ is like an impressionist take on a classic style. I love it. And the challenges overtaken by FPJ is just madness and genius.

RE George Daniels @11:51 - it blows my mind that even with imperfections on the roman numeral 2 and the bottom of the 5, 11, 13 and on the subdial ( @11:57 ) in general that these watches go fo insane prices because it's "hand made". Luckily the movement is machine made otherwise I don't see it lasting very long.
With modern technology, these watches can be cheaply mass produced. The industry put up a facade of how difficult and costly it takes to make. The watch movements are recycled with a "new" case and the price goes up rapidly.
It’s not the point that it can be made with modern technology. The point is, these companies started many years ago when things were all done manually. It’s about appreciating such small attention to detail.

Yeah big error by kevin. usually the big 3 are Patek, AP, and vacheron con. Rolex isnt in the same catergory has them.
