Invicta (Yeah..I know..but still) 9937OB "Pro" Diver.. I can't say enough about this watch, its $170 price tag screams cheapo, but this has a sellita sw200-1, "milled clasp"-exept for the shroud, solid links etc.. for the Cost of this... I'm honestly finding it hard to think of another watch that would fit this bill.. I can't!.. Can You?.. $170.. and it's basically unknown, because of it's cheapo younger brother taking the lime light.. shame really.. People are Missing out on a REAL bargain here simply because it isn't talked about.. sad face!.. BUT I HAVE ONE!..Happy Face!

It takes a special kind of person to be able to entertain someone about watches that they (me) could never afford. Your sense of humor in all of your videos are second to none. All of my watches run -20sec/hr making me feel I don’t have time to use “commas”

Why would I be surprised by a Citizen watch ?
I’ve had more than a few watches, both analogue and digital and in most price ranges.
When it comes down to accuracy over time, with excellent reliability, it comes down to a banger that I’ve had about eight years now. It’s an inexpensive Citizen Solar Dive Watch that’s remained consistently accurate to less than thirty seconds, has never stopped running, nor ever needed service.
At the heart of it, what else could be expected or asked for less than a couple of hundred dollars ?

That Chopard is pretty insane! To me the entire JLC Master Control quartet is vastly underrated and ...well maybe that's a good thing since I have been perusing them on dealers websites.....nevertheless it's a shame that they might be too classical for today's flash/flex culture.

Picked up a Seiko Skyliner from Japan. 1970s. Hand winding. Beautiful silver sun burst dial. 37mm x 10mm thick with a lovely domed crystal. It looks as good as any vintage rolex or Omega I've seen. All for £280 which includes delivery.
I appreciate it won't be very water resistant or durable, but honestly for the fun and classy looks, I'm not sure why I would spend 20x that on a modern Rolex for example
Sometimes I wonder if we are getting good value when we spend six months wages on a watch
    ..I don't know

For me minute repeater bring big nostalgic emotions. The village where my father is from, has a tower clock, and the bell in it announces the time. When I was a kid, it was letting me know when to run home for lunch, dinner and sleep time. I'm getting my first chiming watch (C1), but really am working (read saving) to find a proper minute repeater that would be close to the tower clock schema in the village (1x @15min, 2x @30min, 3x @45 min, 4x @60 min + the hour)

Panerai Luminor watches are quite recognisable with that crownguard. They need to put the brand back on track, but the simple design of the Luminor is quite charming. Not without reason they chose it for the boutiques where the gigantised and illuminated dial can usually be seen on the back wall.

My picks a budget option. The Reverie Diver, especially in the 12-hour variant. It's intended to be a dress diver with its incredibly thin case, 40mm case with a 43mm lug to lug and a really nicely decorated Miyota 9039. There are also only 125 of each colourway, of which there are four, one of which (the one I have in red) is no long available. In fact, that watch is my daily driver.

I think the Citizen The Citizen watches are amazing from a technical and finishing perspective although a bit behind the curve on style IMHO. On the other hand, the Seiko diver SLA series watches are really appealing to me from a design perspective and seem to be technically very good, if only they would regulate the movements and give a better bracelet.

    • @peterrichardson9248
      @peterrichardson9248 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Oh dear the movement regulation is way behind the curve. I think they expect it to be done by the purchaser as out of the box it is as accurate as a err, sun dial

Hi Andrew, yes, The Citizen is excellent, as are the Zenith Chronomaster watches. I'm not keen on Panerai, but Carl F Bucherer make some nice pieces, particularly in the Manero range.

AQ6101-02A. Looks like 100k, costs 6k. 1 second a year expected timekeeping accuracy although my 3 Calibres 0100 timepieces are clocking around +-.2 a second per year. Another easy one that is so underrated is the BN1010-05E.

For a more budget option the Tissot Ballade is a criminally underrated dress watch. Picked up a two tone for 500 but the all steel go for under 400. It's as good as watches costing 5 times the price. I prefer the Arabic version with the bezel that has a knurled pattern. Very original in my opinion. They also make a fluted bezel with Romans a la date just. This watch is 100% the best DJ alternative for those on a budget. I couldn't get a two tone DJ from my dealer so I bought the Tissot and now I don't want the DJ. Ultimately I picked up a Rolex OP and I still love the Tissot and wear it more than the Rolex which is only worn when I want to impress someone.

VC, JLC, PATEK, AP are top but Gerard Perregeaux, Parmigiani, are really excellent too and are a better buy than any Rolex but Longines top chronographs are cosc rated and have a 5 year guarantee. In the real world they are really good value next to others and are around £4k I do believe. The conquest VHP seems to be the most accurate swiss made watch and has a very special quartz movement accurate to under 5 seconds a year for just over £1300. The hydroconquest quartz divers watch is a good buy as well and you can guarantee the clasp, bracelet and case will be really well made and put together. The Rado capt Cook in bronze and the Oris with their new 400 movement seems to be great as servicing is every 10 years but theyre around £4k. Swiss watches are expensive but the swiss franc was 2.4 francs to the £ early 2000s but its maybe 1.6 francs now so maybe a An Ordain or glashutte or grand seiko or citizen may be far better value for the price and really competes on quality.

I'm gonna be crucified for this, but the MoonSwatch is criminally underrated among enthusiasts. Obviously, the marketing snafu that was the launch didn't help. Name another Chronograph that looks that good for that price. There just aren't that many!

I tried to get into that dark show you talked about, I think that’s what it’s called but the plot or so slow by season three I still have no clue what was going on lol

Omega Railmaster is so underrated with Speed/Sea master owners laughing at the poor old railmaster
    It’s a superb watch

I feel like most the people that aren't laughing at the railmaster are the Omega fans that own speed/sea. I do agree it's underrated though - great watch

Further underrated models: Tudor Style in 38mm, especially the stainless steel version.
