One watch is "a watch" I should know, I was a one watch person for 30+ years [a GMT Master], two watches is "a pair" and it's at three or more curated watches that you begin to be a collector.
Incredibly underrated but incredibly pricey tho. Difficult to attract a wider audience when most would go back to your big Swiss brands like Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Patek, AP, etc
@@Bestow3000I have to agree with you there. Time only Tonda being what $20-30k is a tall order. At that point you’re coming close to a Lange 1 which is incredibly tough to compete with.
@@Oakley5100 Its way too tall of an order to price a time only stainless steel watch at such ludicrous numbers. They're trying to compete with big and established names. Its turning most consumers away.
Love the Pf Tonda line. The blue, grey, and gold dials are my favorite. Such an ingenious use of the rattrapante function. Have several GMTs so think I would prefer the one that jumps the minute hand. I know many would say it ruins the dial, but I find the date function on the grey and gold practical and subtle. I guess 60 is adequate for everyday use.
Thanks for highlighting this watch, Teddy!! This is the crown jewel in my collection! It was difficult to obtain, but that amount of effort might be what it makes it so special. Well, that AND just how remarkable the watch is!
I love GMT watches...and this would be a favorite of mine, having the clean and simple looks I'm after. Very elegant indeed! I will have to dream about it though...unfortunately.
@@DerFrange1 If it were a GMT watch it would have a 24 hour hand. This does not. How would you set this watch if local time was 6:00pm and GMT time was 6:00am the next day?
@@seanmiller7187yes its a gmt watch . This style of watch is called caller’s gmt . And the one which brands like rolex makes is called traveller’s gmt .
Thanks you Teddy and team for continuing to bring such great coverage of watches we would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn about. As a community, we are awash in reviews (some may say hype videos) covering the “hottest timepiece” of the moment. Your videos and blogs are a welcome counterpoint to this type of coverage. While there’s plenty of room for all creators, your approach of sharing offerings from micro to massive brands in every price category is refreshing. This Parmigiani is just another example of how many amazing choices are out there for enthusiasts at the moment. It is unique and brilliantly understated , much like the content you provide.
Thank you so much for this video! I have been absorbing all I can about Parmigiani since about January this year but have known them for over ten years. Glad to see you also love them!
Thanks for finally and actually saying [at minute 8:31] what I've been telling other TH-camrs about this watch for months, that this is a DUAL Time watch and NOT a GMT. 🤔 That being said I do like this watch and love the brand, as I have a white gold Tonda 1950 dress watch, so I've put my money behind the brand. However, I really wish that they had either included an am/pm indicator for the second hour hand making it a more useful dual time or made the second hour hand a 24 hour one with an additional 12 gold markers [to match the hand] thereby actually making it a GMT function. I would have even been fine with them calling it a "Travel Time", like the PP Calatrava 5134G of the same name.
That' a slick feature but does do the hand locations drift over time? The mechanical coupling of independent hour hands in my experience can drift with a year or two of use.
That's honestly one of the coolest watches I've seen in a while! Wish I could afford it, so thanks for making a great video about it that I can drool over 🤤
Hallo Teddy, I love that one can't see the 3rd dial, only when one needs to use it. Clever watch making. Thanks for the video and as always love from Switzerland 🇨🇭
That reset button in the crown seems superfluous. Even without it, it would easy enough to press the GMT button a few times (no more than 11 presses) to hide the gold hand.
I'd love this same functionality in a more sporty/rugged GMT, like a diver. So much more convenient and user friendly than fiddling with a crown. This is a beautiful watch but would feel conspicuous in a casual travel setting. Great business travel watch though. Great bracelet, but lacks a micro-adjustment which should be a given at that price point.
I always was impressed with the Tonda, that dial reeks of quality, non ostentatious quality, quiet kinda confidence... A secret threat to some big players in the suisse manufactures in the vallée out there...!
Stunning watch. Excellent watch brand, they make amazing calibres and now great design. One question: does the GMT function reset every time you do a press up?
Parmigiani is King Charles III' brand of choice. He was seen with a beautiful gold chronograph with a GMT sub-dial during the events following his mother's death, for instance.
This is like the "split seconds" version of the GMT? It looks amazing and there isn't clutter around when you don't actually need the secondary function. Best of both worlds.
I love this watch and am so glad you decided to feature it. The watch is way above my price point however and I don‘t wear such dressy watches. Doesn’t stop me from being a bit admirer of this watch!
It was a toss up between this GMT and the Minute Rattrapante for my next watch. I’m glad PF is seemingly finally getting the respect they were long due and Guido’s leadership really has gone a long way for improving brand image. I’m hoping that I get my hands on my PF this year.
It's not a GMT and while a novel idea, it's a lot to spend on a "dual time" watch. PF got lazy with this one, and calling it a GMT when it is not, does not make it so!
I like these watches but I wish they had a second hand. Something about missing the second hand bugs me. To be honest, this watch reminds me of my horage supercede. It's got a skeletonized gmt hand that also can hide under the hour hand. It's also very similar in shape with the integrated bracelet and a microrotor. I will say though that the horage has a fantastic micro adjustment. It's one of my favorite implementations of micro adjustment.
I started to watching your videos , cause i want to buy a new watch. I really like your videos. Also would be nice to see some nice watches from brands like Festina, Invicta or Wenger. Those 3 are in quite same afforable segment 🙂
Agree that this way to display second time zone is very pure and seamless to operate. Not unique though, as PP has a similar movement on the travel times models, also displaying day/night for each hour hand
Think that the parmigiani is a very beautifully crafted luxury timepiece. Would suit a gent who is very self assured and confident and doesn't need to be over the top.
Beautiful luxury watch . The way they provide dual time is truly unique . It is very rare that somebody talk of PARMIGIANI . Is it because PARMIGIANI is designed for an elite (happy few) ????

Really nice watch. Only 2 things about it I don't like. For me the hidden hand would need to be much darker, so that when not hidden the time is still is easily readable with 2 hands, and a subtle 3rd hand. In the video at least, it looks unreadable to me once all 3 hands are visible. The other thing I don't like is the price as I can't afford one ;)
